My 88 year old mother-in-law was telephoned by Compass mobility and they arranged to visit her which she agreed to as she believed they were from social services. On 9th Feb 2009 the salesman persuaded her to part with a cheque for £200 for a recliner chair. The full price for this wonderful chair was FOUR THOUSAND Pounds but, wouldn't you know, a quick 'phone call' to his boss and the price was reduced by half!!!
We advised her to cancel, to which she agreed and the company was contacted both by phone and by letter within the 7 days specified by them. However they still cashed the cheque on 26th Feb. Since then, numerous calls to them have produced only broken promises to return calls - How many complaints against this company do we need before Watchdog become interested - I think I'll email them right now to find out.
