Consumer Direct Warranty Service Reviews

Never pay a claim
DO NOT EVER PURCHASE A WARRANTY FORM THIS COMPANY: CONSUMER DIRECT WARRANTY SERVICE OUT OF REDDING CA, THEY WILL NEVER COVER YOUR CLAIM

I received a call from Eddy Sax on 1/3/09. He was offering a manufacture’s extended warranty. It seemed like a good deal so I purchased one. He claimed it was bumper to bumper and per the paperwork “Direct claims payment to the repair facility right when the repair is made (no paperwork or hassles on your part)”. In July of 09 I received a letter from the Consumer Direct Warranty that the place selling the warranty miss represented the actual warranty and that it is not a manufacturer’s bumper to bumper. The gives me a phone number to call to ask questions but no one answers. They give me the option to either continue the payments for the coverage or stop. But get this, they do not offer any of my money back (close to $1000). Out of the $1000, $300 went to the seller of the policy and the rest to the warranty company. Because the seller is now being investigated by the FTC his funds are frozen but Consumer Directs funds are not. Consumer Direct made no effort to return the money they took form me under false pretense. If I wanted my money back the only way I could do it is, according to the contract, send a notarized letter within 30 days and 200 miles requesting the refund. I must also include all maintenance records. Now I read (on the last page of the contract, under definitions) that all maintenance records must be electronically generated. I live a small town and the person who services my vehicle sometimes uses handwritten invoices that has his business name already on them. So now Consumer Direct Warranty Service will never have to pay a claim because they know I have some of my records handwritten.

I have had the car in for several repairs and none of them have been covered. On Dec 9th I took the car in because I had no rear wheel drive on an all wheel drive car. The dealer told me the final drive transfer case needs to be replaced. Per the contract it is a covered item. The dealer tried to call the warranty place but no answer, they say to go online and download their form and fill it out and fax it. He does this. The next day they fax the same form back, partly filled out, but with no instructions. We wait and I make several calls back to him and he explains that he has never dealt with this warranty company and they do things in a way other than the industry standard. We finally contact the company via email and it turns out that they could not read the original fax and wanted the form filled out again. The dealer sends the form again on Dec 23rd or the 27th and then on the 29th gets a fax back asking for me to send all maintenance records. The dealer sends the fax to me and I get it on the 31st. It says all records must be faxed by Jan 4th or the case is closed. Now they deny the claim because the work had already been done. They know the work is covered and I took it to a reputable dealer who deals with this kind of thing all the time. The service manager said all the other warranty providers would have had it taken car of on the spot.

Work Denied
I bought a Extended Auto Warranty from Accurate Warranty Service LLC on 08/05/2009 I went over and over with what was covered and how the plan worked. It went into effect 500 miles and 15 days. I paid it in full. As soon as I got the paper work I read all of it and was very pleased at the time for what they where saying they would cover. The end of August my AC went out, I live in the Phx. metro area and it was 110. So I took it into a reapir facility that I had used before. He faxed claim information into CDWS. They denied the claim due to the way that the repair facility worded the claim. Well we fought and fought with CDWS and after way to many faxes and phone calls they finally sent a insurance adjuster. He approved the repairs. But once the repair facility finished the work CDWS would not pay for the full amount. I ended up paying $325.00 for the repair.
On 11/30/2009 I went out to my vehicle and it would not start. I checked with my warrenty book and they said that they would pay up to $100.00 for towing. So we had it towed to the same repair facility. He said that it was the fuel pump. So he sent in a claim. It was denied first thing. We got a hold of them and they said that it was due to no service documations so we sent the documation they denied it agian saying that they could not read it so we resent it. Then they faxed my reapir facility wanting information on the altenator. We go a hold of them and said that we where not having altenator trouble it was the fuel pump. This was on a Friday after e-mails and faxes and phone calls they denied the claim late on Monday evening a week after it was first take in. Due to some long explaination that it not make any sense. Basicly due to the fact that it did not brake down they way that they wanted it to brake down and for the fact that my repairman did not right a 4 page report on the repairs that needed to be done.
I'm disbaled and my husband is out of work and we do not have the money to just through around if any one can tell me how they made them do the repairs that are covered.
