cla owes me money
CLA took $4, 400.00 from me, did nothing to help me. Now im in bankruptcy, and they won't give me any of my money back. Any ideas how I/you can get money back? I'd love to hear any ideas. E-mail me.

Dealing with Consumer Law Associates has been a nightmare. I have sent them thousands of dollars to settle this and now I’m being sued. I was led to believe that in the event that I was sued CLA would be there to help me. Not so. All they have done is email me a “settlement letter” that provides zero proof that they actually payed my creditor. Now I have to go to court alone with no evidence that the debt was settled four months ago. I have talked to CLA customer service many many times. Every time it is a different person, unfamiliar with my case and I have been given conflicting informations. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told that they were all on the phone and unavailable. When I said that I would hold, the person just hung up on me. That has happened twice now. They say they will call me back and then nothing. Don’t expect to speak with an attorney. Save your money and settle the debts yourself. You will end up money ahead.

Fradulant solicitation
We signed with the Comsumer Law Associates to have two credit card bill negotiated on by
this firm for payoff. The fee was $345.oo which we sent in. All additional payments would
be due the 26th of each month which would be like a "savings acount" which would be used
as negotiating tool for payoff of the credit card bills. Approximately $2100.00 into our payments,
we found out that only $700.00 was available for the payoff of our bills. By this time, we were
about 6 months past due on our bills and unable to continue these $300.00 payments for no
results. As we were being harassed by the credit card companies, we learned that Consumer
Law had not attempted to negotiate a settlement with either company. It was at this time
that my spouse began negotiating directly with the credit card companies. Upon negotiating
a settlement, it was learned that Consumer Law had defrauded us out of all of our payments
except $700.00. We would to request a full refund of all of our money including the initial
fee of $345.00 due to a breach in our contract.
