Car Payments
Consumer Portfolio is a BAD COMPANY to use or work for. They are rude and really could care less about their customers. If you payment is due on the 6th or any given day for that matter and you are not late or anything and that payment is not in their system by the Close of that Day; they will start calling and harassing you non-stop. This is not right and something should be done to stop creditors from calling your job all day using various callers from their office or calling you home from sun up to sun down. If I had known that Mercury Finance was behind CPS when I got my car loan; I would have walked out the door flat out. The dealers should tell their customers up front we they are dealing with and not when something goes wrong with the account. So, heads up and beware of ALL HIDDEN COMPANIES and the SMALL print for sure. DO NOT DO ANY TYPE OF BUSINESS WITH MERCURY FINANCE, CPS OR WHOMEVER THEY WANT TO CALL THEMSELVES.

Harrassment & Embarrassment
If anyone wants to do something about this company, I just filed a complaint at the following web site: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
This company has done everything from call my friends, neighbors, family. They even called the hospital where my granddaughter was a patient, asked for her room, then told the person answering the phone it was an emergency. When I asked how they got the information to call me there, I was told that was none of my business that he was just doing his job. He then went into great details about personal things in my life that he had NO business knowing about. Because of a loss of business, I got behind one payment. I was going to make the payment this past weekend but the front four wheel drive went out of the car. I called CPS on Monday morning to explain what had happened. I was told "don't worry about it" we'll defer two of your payments because it was going to take 1000 to fix the car. I was asked what garage my car was in, so they could verify that I was having it repaired. I gave them that information trying to be honest about the whole thing. They immediately began calling the mechanic, the parts store where the parts was coming from and demanding to know where the car was at so the could come repossess it. This garage and this mechanic are people I work with everyday. Although the mechanic refused to let them have the car until they paid for it, I can't begin to describe the embarrassment and CPS continued to call them every 10 or 15 minutes for two days. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and contacted an attorney to file law suit for breach of personal information. I want to get caught up on my payments, but when someone tells me they are going to try to help me, then deliberately lies about the facts, I will get satisfaction one way or another.
