I received a quote from a Chris H who committed to a maximum rate for the move. When we reached the destination, the driver/head honcho - Eugene and his despatcher Adam refused to unload the furniture unless I signed the credit card bill for $500+ higher than the quote. I had to sign the bill, and got the furniture unloaded.
I called my credit card company, CITIBANK, and they refuse to consider this a fraudulent overcharge, and, they are not willing to take any action against this company.
There are two issues at hand with these folks.. the usage of the name Continental Express Inc, which is a reputed firm out of Arkansas and secondly holding property hostage unless the overpayment is made.
Why can the Complaints Board, Consumer Forum etc not take any action against this company ? Since there have been more than one complaint about this company, can this not be considered a crime, punishable by the law ?
