My boyfriend and I wanted to purchase an engagement ring for Christmas so we went to Continental Jewelry in Tampa to look at diamonds. They didn't have exactly what we were looking for, but they did have something almost the size we desired. We contiplated for a while if the size of the diamond would be large enough for the band I wanted which they were ordering in for me. We decided to purchase the diamond due to the sales associate suggesting that if the diamond wasn't large enough when they placed it in the band that we could always return it and exchange it and they would look for a larger stone for us. We paid them $11, 000 and the following day we went to pick up the diamond once they had placed it in a temp. band for us. After looking at the stone in the band, I realized that it wouldn't work in the larger band just as I thought. They said that they would look for a larger stone for us, however, every diamond they found was between $16-$20, 000 which was out of our budget. Christmas Day has come and gone, and we have no diamond and we are out $11, 000.00. Continental Jewlers (Owner: Glen Smith) has refused to take our phones calls. These people are scammers!
