Cooking Club of America Reviews

Never received anything.
In 5/24/09 I sent in money for their magazine and etc. in the amount of $24 on my credit card. Going thru old receipts, I found out the I never received anything from them. This must be a rip off. I am on limited income and this hurts.

Membership
Don't sign up for this so called "Cooking Club of America" they take your money and do nothing and say that all the test for the past year never matched your profile. GIVE ME A BREAK!!! In 1 year they couldn't match not one product to someone who checked almost everything on their survey on my cooking preferences!!! I love to cook and try new things when it comes to cooking. I was excited to join and try new things and then nothing I am very disappointed!! All they wanted was for me to join their "Life time membership" for over $200 WOW!! They couldn't even do anything with their reguar membership and they wanted me to give them more money, to do what???? All I have to say is I am ashamed they are from my home state Minnesota!!! DON"T SIGN UP RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!

Harassment
I became a Life Member of this club and was supposed to recieve a full set of cookware from the club. I began recieving additional mailings of promotional products to purchase. I would send them back and requested not to recieve any other such mailings. I not only was sent more stuff but recieve threatening letters that the other items had not been returned and they demanded payment. In all this time I still had not recieved the cookware that was supposed to arrive at my home. I contacted the Club, and they in turn said that the cookware had been delivered. I argued it had not. They told me to research it through the U.S. Postal service. It took another 6 months for them to finally admit their error and send the cookware. In the meantime I am still recieving other promotional items, and as per their request and instructions, sending it back with their supplied mailing labels. Now I am getting letters again saying either pay up or send the items back...
I am sick of dealing with this completely incompetent group of people.

Unsolicited Merchandise
I joined the Cooking Club of America because I liked their magazine and some of their information. Unfortunately, they continue to send me unsolicited merchandise even though I've written and told them to stop.
According to the Distance Selling Regulations, they clearly state that if you've been sent unsolicited goods you are entitled to treat them as an unconditional gift and do with them what you choose. You are certainly not required to pay for them. Any attempt to demand payment (by threatening means or otherwise) is unlawful. Yet they continue to harass me and threated to submit the cost of a knife they sent me to a Collection Agency. I am reporting them to the Attorney General's Office in both my State and in Minnesota where they're located. BEWARE of this company!

billing
they have sent me "SECOND NOTICE" DUES INVOICE I have never ordered them-nothing to do with it at all.
Oficial Member No. 54154637: Loretta Jean Plymale, that's me then they say once paid DO YOU WANT YOUR FREE GIFTS.
This really stinks, I am getting something that I never, could not, would not have ever ordered.

subscription and free gifts
Also got an invoice after I had chosen not to continue subscribing. The telephone number for Customer Services is correct. Just keep pressing 0 until you get a representative and take no notice of them talking all over you.

Keep Getting Bills For Books I Didn't Receive
I have been a life member for awhile and have never received products for testing and keep getting bills for books i didn't receive I did pay the bills after they turned them over to a collection but have written and emailed the company with no answer so if you are smart you will have nothing to do with this company. BIG SCAM.

Membership Fee
I had a little confusion as to whose information you wanted on the form. I entered the scamming company's name and further down entered my address and phone information. I hope this was correct. I joined the club and paid the $12.00 membership fee. I certainly feel foolish that I fell for their scam. I don't believe I will easily get my money returned but did want to enter my complaint along with the others.

Random client testing Bull
CCOA does not keep their promise in sending items or product for testing. When contacting them on this issue the excuse of "Testers are picked ramdomly". I do not except this excuse. I did not pay $300 to be picked randomly.

I would like to test product on a regular basis. I do know many people do not pay or complete payment of their club membership, but those of us who actually paid in full should have the right to test on a regular basis.

Not a happy camper, for being a Lifetime membership I get a magazine. I could get recipes online.

On-Line Scams / Fraudulent practices
clicked on 30 day FREE trial for magazine to Cooking Club of America, within 7 days prior to receiving magazines I received a bill/invoice for $12.00 for annual dues. Stupid me I paid it !! Then received 2nd bill for unpaid dues of $12.00, e-mailed them with ck #, date received, & date they cashed ck! They claimed to update my account, but did not! E-mailed again demanding membership cancellation & refund. They in turn sent me 3 vouchers ($12.00 ea.) for Lifetime membership. Documents stated "I would never pay anything ever again for this offer. They lied again, they billed me $337.00. Tried repeatedly to cancel this membership, but still receiving bills. E-mailed to & fro demanding resolution, on 12/28/2010 it was cancelled (they say). On 12/30/2010 they verified via e-mail bill was removed paid in full, & it would not go on my credit report or collections. I feel this is not over yet.
