Employee gave wrong info. and killed most of my saltwater tank
I had set up a saltwater aquarium, 75 gal. It came with fish when I got it. I had bought and added, live rock, some with mushrooms and other stuff growing, 2 anemones, 6 snails, 6 hermit crabs, 2 sandsifting starfish, one was a baby star, a pulsating xenia and some others I can't remember right off. Well, I got ick from something I bought. I was in Ashland, Ky. and stopped in at Petland. I asked if there was anything I could put in my tank for ick and told them everything I had in it. They told me to use Coppersafe. I am very, very new with inverts. I asked about them, because there was something about it on the box. They told me it was very safe and wouldn't harm anything. It killed everything I bought. Did the fish good. I called them and they are telling me there is nothing they can do, because they don't sell anything that I lost. Only products. I don't care if they carry it or not. I should be reimbursed. Coppersafe poisened my tank. Now it is also costing me the extra salt, new gravel/sand, and a special poly filter to help take out the poisen. It's costing me small fortune for being lied to. I was even told by another employee that she used it at another pet shop and it was safe. I called the other pet shop and they said she didn't use it there and if by some chance she did, she was not allowed. They said they never use coppersafe for anything. Someone should reimburse me for everything lost, don't you agree. I am still fighting with them. I also took pics of the stuff that died. I am posting a pic. of my dead sandsifting starfish and a snail. I am going to post a pic. of the starfish when it was alive and doing well also.
