Failure to deliver!
A salesman for this company came to our house Nov. 28, 2007 and talked to us about windows. After a display of the windows we foolishly signed a contract to have 3 windows replaced. He said they would be installed in 6 weeks. A man came out a week later & took measurements & that was the last we heard from the company until we finally called them on Jan. 23, 2008 to see what the problem was. We were told we weren't even on an install list & would have to start calling every Monday to see if we were on the list yet. We had also foolishly signed a staged funding slip & were told no payment would be due until Jan, 2009. In December, 2007, Cornerstone opened a credit card account in our name & took a draw of 1, 237.50. I then called Cornerstone & asked again when the windows would be in. The manager, Dale Nungester gave us excuses, but no install date. I then called to say that we were unhappy with their lack of communication with us & again asked for an install date & didn't get one. My husband & I discussed the situation & decided to cancel the contract. I then called the next day to inform Mr. Nungester of our decision & was immediately threatened with a lien & a lawsuit for breaking the contract. I fail to see how we broke the contract by wanting our windows. But, these guys are clever. They didn't put an install date on the contract & in spite of us getting a lawyer, we were screwed. The date is March, 20, 2008 & we still have no windows. My late advise to all is to never sign anything without checking the whole thing out. I trusted the salesman because the letterhead on the contract has a big cross on it & under that it says, "Our Boss Is the Master Carpenter" Our trust & stupidity has cost us 4, 300.00 for 3 windows.
