Rip Off - Doesn't Stand Behind Promises
This guy got me too. I am posting my complaint to http://www.tytymkovich.com as well. Looks like their might be a class-action suit coming.

Fraud / Scam
Contacted by Corporate Acquisitions Group representative stating they had an interested party in our business. Upon returning their call, I was informed that a representative of their company would be in my area and would do a "site evaluation and analyist" they stated that I would need several years of P&L's available for inspection etc. I stated that this could be arranged and in getting ready for the visit, I did some checking on this company and its executives. It turns our that the President a Mr. Ty Tymkovich has been running this scam under other company names in other parts of the country. As others have stated, this is a scam to get you to pay them thousands of dollars for a business valuation by a third party company that provides CAC with a healthy commission for this bogus valuation. If you pay, they then list your business on some internet sites that you can do yourself for pennies like merger network, business for sale.com, etc and keep your money for nothing. Once I brought the facts to light with their representative and the fact that Mr. Tymkovich is an ex-con, he stated that he was unaware of this as "He" was an outside independent agent and that he would investigate and get back to me. I never heard anymore as their turth was out and they we're going to rip this businessman off. I suggest anyone who would do business with this firm first, research the key executives and look for complaints they are all the same. Busiensses that were ripped-off for up-front money for nothing. These executives opened and closed other companies before this one in states like Georgia with similiar names. Don't fall for this scam.

Scam and fraud!
Corporate Acquisitions Group contacted me and said they had a serious buyer for my business. I met with one of their business analysts, who took some numbers and said they could find a buyer for my business within a year. The catch was that I had to pay $8000 upfront (a very inflated price) for a business valuation. He promised that if I did not sell my business within one year, they would refund the $8000.

It sounded too good to be true, and it was. I read the contract, and it actually states that CAG's obligation is to present us with qualified buyers who may be interested in buying our business... so in other words, as as long as they refer some interested folks to us, they do not have to refund our money. Quite a bit different from the verbal promise that we will get our money back if they do not sell our business within one year.

A search of complaintsboard.com shows several other 'business brokers' operating in a similar fashion - Alliance Acquisitions, Legacy Acquistions, etc. All received complaints, and all either shut down or changed names in order to avoid answering complaints or refunding money from unhappy business owners.

CAG's sales practices are misleading and unethical at best. Don't fall for it.
