Fraud - Prepayment of Taxes for Sale of Time Share
I received an unsolicited phone call from a woman "Dayan Vella" offering to sell my timeshare. No money was required upfront and there many phone calls and emails with responses before and after the contract. "Brian Fisher" was the main contact and in charge of the "sales process". The cover story is that 'the rules in Mexico have changed regarding large companies and their ability to reserve rooms at resorts. As such they must now show ownership of the resort and as such are looking to purchase large blocks of rooms/time shares'. (This same story was repeated from another company called later, so it seemed to have some truth.) After several weeks we were asked to transfer a tax payment to the Mexican Gov't for taxes. We were furnished with a "receipt". A couple weeks later were were told that in order to close the deal by the end of the week we needed to send another tax payment for "state tax". Following that transfer we never heard from them again regarding closing time and they no longer respond to emails or phone calls. Upon doing some research, they are not listed in Washington as a business and the BBB has that they are not a current company. Beware of this scam, it is apparently more common than most people are aware of.

FRAUD
We were told company had a buyer for our timeshare. All we had to due was wire money $3700, to an account in Mexico for the sales tax to be paid before we received our compensation. I looked company up on BBB's website and at the time had a rating of a C-. Since they were registered with BBB, we completed the wire. After one week and us not receiving our money, we were contacted today to wire an additional $2600 to pay a state sales tax.

After doing more research and calling the Property Management for the building that the business listed as their address, we learned that no such company exists. The BBB website now states the same. After calling muliple other timeshare sales offices, we have also confirmed that we do not pay tax to Mexico for a time share sale.

This company has scammed $3700 from us! They have commitment wire fraud as well. What steps do we take?
