On Saturday evening May 3rd, I ordered Cottage Inn Pizza. I stood approximately five minutes as an African-American female, stood in a closet fooling around with another male worked. Soon Caucasian female approached to see if I had been help, replying "No" she replied "Oh, I'm sorry someone will be right with you.” She left, and the African-American female continued fooling ignoring me. Soon I motioned for a Caucasian male to come to the counter. I explained to him the situation, and he immediately apologized and completed my order. When home my wife informed me that we didn’t received the ice cream ordered. She immediately called and asked the cost to be credited to our account.
The following afternoon, May 4, order Cottage Inn again. Immediately upon completing the call, we had a family emergency. My wife quickly called to cancel. The person answering said "Okay, ” and hung up the phone. That evening my wife and I decided to go for ice cream. As we entered the store, the same African-American female walked over and stood with her arms crossed, rolling her eyes. Waiting for her to offer service, she said nothing. Telling my wife she would not speak, we began to order. While placing our order she was extremely rude and insulting.
Placing the bag in front of us-my wife told her of the credit. Entering our number, she said they were not to provide us and rudely snatched the bag away. We asked for an explanation, and she snapped telling us to speak to a manager. The manager (Jim) appeared, we asked why we were refused service. He responded "it’s noted by corporate in computer." I asking for a reason he couldn’t give one. Giving us corporate number 419-534-3000. Returning home my wife could only find one corp number in MI 734-663-2470 from their website. As regular customers of Cottage Inn, I have been offended by this treatment. Treating customers rudely and nasty, then refusing to provide service with no explanation makes me no longer willing to support Cottage Inn’s business.
