Not a place to rent
I didn’t know that this apartment Country Brooks that I got into was going to be a nightmare. They told me that I had to put $695.00 down and plus the rent of $695.00. At that time I thought it was normal and ok. She kept saying oh and you will get all of that back at the end. At the end she told me and you will have to pay for the trash, water and sewer on top of the rent. I thought ok a few more dollars.
When the next month rolled around for me to pay the rent; I didn’t know how often my income was going to be come in and I told them that, but I knew that I was going to have enough for the rent. I found out that my child support comes at the same time as my husband got paid, and I had just applied for my unemployment and didn’t know how soon that was going to come, but my child support came on March 06, 2010 three days past the date they considered your rent to be late, which they charged me $50.00 and $10.00 for each additional days it was late. I had until March 8, 2010 to pay for the accumulated extra fees which added up to $821 and a few change. I knew my unemployment was going to come on March 9, 2010, because that’s how I calculated it and it did, but I had to wait for the mailman which came late to cash it before the bank closed. I was panicking because the mail came at 4:20.
So once I got my check I immediately took it to the bank to cash it, and I had to go another store to get a money order because that’s all they were going to accept for me. I made it back before the office closed, and they accepted my payment kindly without giving me a receipt but I asked for one and they said that they are just going to make a copy of my money order for my receipt.
The next day Lisa the office manager calls me and said I had a balance of $159.00 and have to come in and sign a promissory letter and I said for what she said for the attorney fees. Because the previous day she told me if I don’t get the $821 by 1:00pm, that they were going to charge me for an attorney, I tried very hard to get the money but I didn’t, all I knew that it was going to be coming the next day. I told her that I don’t know when I will be in. I think they knew all along that I would be charge for all of the extra fees and eventually, I would leave the apartment. And I also don’t see why they are charging for an attorney when I paid for the rent and the extra fees.
I never stressed so hard to pay for a rent that was suppose to be only $695 advertised for $685, I really feel like killing myself because I needed a place to stay and came to Arizona I was told that the rent was cheap. Had I knew it was hidden fees involved, I would have stayed in San Diego and live in a one bedroom. Now I am forced to leave the premises and aware of the much extra charges, after only being there for one month.
No wonder they were taking a long time to finish fixing the pipe under the kitchen sink and causing me to not have hot water for 2 weeks now, and the constant run of the master bed toilet, causing the water bill to be high too. I will never ever recommend this pace at all to anyone.
Here are some bad reviews I found after all of this:

Anything bad written about this apartment complex is completely true! No exaggerations! I've read all the reviews and can relate to every complaint. I still can't believe how horrible the staff was. The apartment didn't even look like it had been cleaned when I moved in. When I moved out I made sure it was spotless and I still got charged for cleaning fees. It's overall a crappy place to live and I'm so glad I'm out of there. If you are considering Country Brook...DON'T!!

Don't even think of moving in to this apartment unless you wanna get ripped off while moving out. No matter whether you clean your apartment or not, this apartment will charge you a fortune for cleaning everything when you move out.
