I was charged a $250.00 charge to the credit card I gave at check-in for incidentals. This debit consisted of a $250.00 “smoking” charge: a penalty which the Marriott hotel imposes for smoking tobacco in a “non-smoking” designated guest room.
I wrote to the manager (for which he has not responded) explaining i did not smoke with respect to the absolute absurdity of their allegation (and the ludicrous dollar amount they so freely imposed) for committing an act in which they posses no tangible evidence of, nor having advised me of such a policy - at any time in any form.
I am proceeding to forward this letter along to the various media- based consumer advocacy groups, hotel associations, and as an advisory to the local business, commerce and tourism organizations within their market area.
