I have gone to cowboys for awhile now. I am very well aware of there specials on FRI and WED night specials. They have a wrist band that you can purchase for ten dollars and you can drink free from 9pm til midnight. I had gone to the facility on 4/29/10, Thurs evening with three other friends. We had heard a rumor that the club was getting rid of the wrist bands on Fri night. She informed us, "we still have Fri night wrist bands and tonight we have the wrist band and two other specials, $.75 cent beers and $1 .50 pitcher of drinks. " She also said she thought that the special tonight (thurs) started at 7:00pm, but she wasnt sure. She asked us to double check the time.
We ended up asking the girl at the front and she said it didnt start til 8:00pm, so we hung around for another hour.
At 8:00pm, we went back to the front; myself and my three friends purhased the wrist bands at $10.00. The girl at the desk informed us of the $.75 and $1.50 specials. She also said we had to get all of our drinks on the third floor. Which we werent complete happy about but we dealt.
We went to the upstairs 3rd floor bar, the bartender asked us what we wanted. We all asked for rum & coke (well drinks). He then said the only special were the $.75 and $1.50 beer specials. $.75 for any bottle beer and $1.50 for any pitcher of beer. Myself i purchased a beer for $.75. ( I dont even like beer, its not my normal drink.) We asked him for the normal red cups they serve with, again being that we have been to this place the previous weekends. The bartendar next to him said they havent had the red cups in a year. Which did not make sense being we were here the weekend before.
Then we asked because we were utterly confused now being told three different things. We asked the bartendar to explain which he did. That the special was the $.75 beers and $1.50 pitchers. We went downstairs to talk with the girl because now that it has been somewhat explained to us. We would have had to purchase the $10.00 plus additional cover for any drinks.
We went downstairs and we asked her about the specials and she explained the special in more detail about the additional cost. We spoke with her and finally we decided to speak with a manager.
At this point we have between the four of us spent forty dollars and seventy-five cents; all that has been drunk at this time was one beer.
We waited for the manager to arrive for forty minutes give or take. The manager, after we figured out who it was, had past us like three times. So one of my friends went back to the front and the manager kind of came over, finally.
I started talking to him and explained the situation. I told him about all three stories. He listened and repeatedly kept informing me that the pitcher of beer wasnt $1.50 it was $1.75. Which i was not interesed in?
The manager said that he did not have the power to do reinbursements. I asked for the person I needed to talk to who could. t the end of the information he said he had to check with his staff. He went and came back.
Informed us that his staff throughly explained the special to us and that was all he said. My friend then asked him well if this was explained to all four of us throughly then why would we have spent the only ten dollars we had, just so we could spend more after the ten.
Toward the end of the conversation he basically got this attitude that there was nothing that could be done. Again at this time we are out forty dollars and have purchased one beer. We are all completely sober and very disappointed because we do come and spend our hard earned money at there facility. I asked him what he thought we should do he said take advantage of the special or we could go somewhere else.
So the experience itself is a little in our opinoin was unacceptable. I know it terms its a small amount of money but if they had given it back we would have more than likely purchased drinks with that money. We all work in the hospitality industry and we deal with guest service issues all the time. We were not being irrate or irrational about any of this, we just feel again this is not right. I look forward to a response, I will be calling the manager asking to speak with a different one. I unfortunately dont remember his name, but i plan on finding out.
