On December 01, 2009, I called CP Technologies to obtain basic information about OS compatibility of an Ethernet adapter. I was told by the person who answered the phone that he could not give me that information because I didn't purchase it from them and there was some sort of dispute re: a "rogue seller"on Amazon.com.

An hour or so later, I contacted the company OEM Division and spoke to Kit Ly, the sales manager in order to convey my bewilderment at the refusal to answer a simple compatibility question.

From that point on, I was not permitted to finish a single sentence. Mr. Ly demanded to know to whom I had spoken...I didn't get a name, nor was I interested in assigning blame as much as I was in conveying the basic problem..., kept reiterating that he had only two people on deck for answering questions and that neither one was trained to be non-responsive; something I might have guessed since it's been my experience that most employees are not actually trained to be non-responsive!

All I wanted to know was whether or not the product I purchased would work on my OS since the seller gave the impression that it was and the package shipped to me contradicted that. At that point, I was unable to make him understand either my situation or the fact that I was NOT blaming him or the employees for whatever I was told by the seller; only that I wanted to let his company know that the refusal to give me entirely neutral information re: compatibility didn't make any sense at all. Instead, Mr. Ly (while agreeing that it didn't make sense) remained defensive and proceeded to downshout me over irrelevant details.

As a consequence, I will not purchase any CP Technologies products now or in the future. If they're not interested enough in improving customer service or listening to issues, I'm not interested in doing business with them.
