Taking Money
Just found that Freecreditreport.com is taking a monthly charge out of my bank account. I was able to track a number down but not an actual company name, and when I go to the website and enter my info it tells me that I am not a customer but yet they are charging me. Just want them to stop taking my money.

unauthorized charges
This company began charging my credit card on a monthly basis for services I never ordered. I called to try and correct the situation but they were rude and refused to stop the charges or refund the past charges. I had to change my credit card. What a hassle.

Unauthorized charges during trial period
I registered for an account on the CreditReport.com website with the understanding that I would not be charged anything during the advertised 7-day trial period. In, I'd say, 2 days, my checking account incurred a charge from Creditreport.com for $US 29.99. Not only did this occur within the trial period, but they included an additional $10 more than the $19.99 monthly fee stated in the agreement.

I promptly called their customer support line to dispute the charges. After waiting on hold for a good 20-25 minutes, a man, seemingly puzzled as to how my account could have been billed within the trial period, transferred me, and I was subsequently forced to wait an additional 10 minutes on hold while they pieced together everything. Finally, they picked up, only to tell me that there's no way I could have incurred the $29.99 charge to my account as I still had 4 days left of my trial. I explained to them that they're the only credit report site that I signed up with and read them the details of the charge (The name of the company that billed my account etc.). So, after being placed on hold for a third time, they finally confirmed that they did indeed charge my bank account $29.99 in error as a result of them not being able to find any credit history for me (I just turned 18 in January). I was informed that I would be refunded within 7-10 business days.

All in all, it took them 1-2 days to unjustly overcharge me because of their faulty and defective billing system, and it's going to take them nearly two weeks to refund me. Without question, I told them that I no longer wish to subscribe to their service and to cancel my account. I was told on Feb 11th that it would take around 5 days for the termination of my subscription to take effect, allowing them another opportunity to charge me as my trial period was set to expire on February 14th, 2011.

This company is blatantly deceptive and fraudulent. After this incident, there's no way that I'll ever do business with an Experian company again.

unauthorized charges
I found a charge on my credit card statement for creditreport.com. I use a service that is billed on a different card so I knew the charge was fraudulent. I called the phone number listed on the credit card statement.

I was asked for my cc#, my name, my birth date, the last four of my social security number. I protested giving them this information. I was treated very rudely by the person answering the phone, and told "If you call your credit card company, they are going to have you call back to talk to me. You'll have to give me the information then. I need the information to be sure that you were scammed."

I expressed that I was calling my credit card company to cancel the number instead. "Canceling the card will not make a difference, we can still continue to charge the card the monthly fee of 19.95 since it was authorized."

I finally gave him the last four digits of my SS#. I was told "Yep, that's not the last four listed, it's fraud. I'll transfer you to the fraud department." (What if it HAD been the correct last four digits, would they have refused to cancel??) I got ahold of the person at the fraud department. She demanded an email address to "verify who I was".

I told her I did not sign up, I did not GIVE you my email address, I use several email addresses, several that are ONLY for companies that will generate future spam, I can't VERIFY the email address you have on file as I did not even GIVE it to you in the first place. She got nasty. "If you don't give me an email address, I can't continue this claim."

I rattled off a random spam catching email for her, she was happy. She said "This was fraud, not your ss# listed." (Duh, thanks, I knew I had not signed up.) I asked her "So basically, someone can sign up using my name, cc# and THEIR ss# and get a report?" She replied, "Oh, it looks as if they never even generated a report."

Great, so someone logged on the website, gave my name and cc#, theirs or a bogus ss#, then logged off, leaving ME charged over $65 in fees, that were set to continue until I called to cancel the subscription. It makes me wonder if CreditReport.com has people stealing CC#'s for them. Just think how much money they can make before a person realizes it. Be warned.

Free trial period
I subscribed to their 9-day free trial offer on 1/6/2011 at about 6.30pm. I called on 1/15 to cancel. I then find that they charged my creditcard for $19.95 on 1/15. I called today (1/19) and was told that it was indeed a 9-day free trial and that the free-trial ended on 1/14. CSR stuck to their T&C that the free trial's 1st day started on 1/6. I may have to file a dispute with my bank over this, even if it is only $19.95.

charged my account
Was asked to submit a credit score for a job I applied for. The employer provided the link to this site, Free credit Report.com. I answered all the questions and provided by cc #. It said I had to submit it or it could not be processed. I now find out they charged my account for !$1.00 plus $29.95. I called them immediately and they stated I could not have a refund since I received all 3 credit scores and it was reviewed. I told them I was not aware of that. After explaining to him that was all the money I had, he came back and said they would refund $15.00 only. I told him that was not fair, and how long would it take to get my money back and he said 5-10 business days. I told him of course, it took them seconds to take my money and now its going to take 5-10 to get only half back? What a rip.

unauthorized charges
In a period of ten days I have been charged for three months of service. I've made numerous attempts to cancel service and have been led in a circle each time. They tell me account is cancelled but refuse to send confirmation and they continue billing charges. Once they have your credit card number, Look Out.

My father was continually charged after calling this company and verbally canceling his account with them. On Christmas Eve he noticed that he was again being charged, and after calling them yet again, was told his money would not be refunded. This company is complete crap DO NOT USE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

FISHY monthly charges of $14.95
I signed up for a "FREE" credit report online on 4/2/2010. I have been charged $14.95 every month since that date. There was an "underline" charge for "monthly credit investigating" if i DID NOT go back into the website or call within ten days. Not only did I not see this (because I would have never signed up for the FREE credit report, but I would have made sure I called to cancel this charge before the end date). So this CREDIT REPORT.COM company is a SHAM. Do NOT use them. I called them to cancel this charge/service. The first person cancelled it, and could only give me a credit of one month, telling me I would have to call back the next day. I called the next day, got a credit for the previous 2 months (because that was all she could go back), asked to speak to a supervisor next. Spoke to the supervisor named DONNA who informed me that thier policy was that they didnt give ANY refunds and I should be happy with the three month refund that I got. This company is called CREDITREPORT.COM, STAY AWAY FROM THEM. They are located out of CA, and could care less about the people they have been screwing for $14.95 a month. Donna the supervisor was rude, and could not justify to me why the company could give me a credit for three months, but none more??? I was only asking for a refund of a little over a hundred dollars. That is a drop in the bucket as far as im concerned with what they are making. I have since called my creditcard that they are charging and filed a complaint. Hopefully all will go well and the little guy will win the war. And on top of this whole story, I NEVER RECIEVED MY FREE CREDIT REPORT. And they have admitted that they can see on thier system that I never recieved it. So they are going to charge me monthly for something I never recieved. Again, please for your sanity, stay away from CREDITREPORT.COM. Thank you for letting me vent, and have a nice holiday everyone.
