stole money from my checking account
I looked at their site and while going over my on line statement for my checking account noticed a charge of $14.95. Now I don't know for sure how long this has been going on, I just want it to stop now. These kind of companies should be barred from ever using the internet as they prey on folks that were just looking and besides the site said Free but then turned around and charged me at least, $14.95.

They Overdrew My Account
I got a free credit report from these people, as many people have, with the trial. I signed up for this at 4:45pm on September 2nd, 2009. On September 4th, 2009 I got a call from this company asking if I had any questions regarding my account or if I saw something incorrect. As you have to put your phone number in, I didn't think anything of it and said that no, I didn't, but that I wanted to cancel my account with them as I did not want to get charged the $14.95. She said okay, gave me a cancellation # and told me to havea good day. She did try to get me to stay and told me that she could offer it to me for $9.99 a month instead if I just stayed. I told her no and to cancel and she did.

So, on Wednesday September 9th, 2009, I look on my bank statement and see that I'm now -5.oo in my account. Yes, it sucks that a fifteen dollar charge can overdraw my account, but unfortunately I'm having a lot of doctor visits and all my extra money is going to that.

Anyway, I called them immediately and they told me that I had a week to cancel it and a week was up on Tuesday, September 8th even though I signed up Wednesday night and should've had at least Wednesday morning. I told them that someone from their company called me and that I cancelled it then, gave them the # and everything. They told me that they don't do outsourcing calls and that it wasn't someone from our company and that I must've signed up with someone else. I told them, no, this was from you, they said it was from you and that they cancelled it and now my account is negative.

He still said it wasn't this company that called me, but that he would refund the $15.00 and that he would cancel the account. I asked him what would happen if my bank charges me since it's technically negative, but he said they shouldn't as it's a pending transaction and if they did to call back.

So...I look up my account on Friday, September 11th, when I get my direct transfer, and my bank has charged me $72.00 for over draft fees. Apparently, I had a check come in and so I got charged a NSF fee AND a UAF fee, $36.00 each. I called my bank to find out what was going on as the transaction was still pending, but they said it doesn't matter, I was technically negative. I asked if I still would've gotten charged if it wasn't for this $15.00 incorrect charge and they said, no. I would've technically been negative by $2 but that I wouldn't have been charged $72.00. I asked if they would refund it, they said no.

So, I called Credit Report.com to talk to them about this. After being on hold for quite a few minutes, I talk to one rep and tell her that I was charged due to the $15.00 pending item they charged me incorrectly. She says the refunded me that. I told her I understand that, but that I'm calling because my bank charged me $72.00 due to the incorrect billing from them. She just kept repeating that they refunded me the $15.00. So finally, she just transfers me to a manager.

After being on hold another 10 minutes, I get the manager. First, she has me on speaker phone and I can barely hear her and when I tell her the situation, she just says it's not their problem and they aren't liable for it as my bank charged me for a pending item and that I need to call by bank. I told her I did and they refuse to refund these and she just says "Well sorry, but it's not our problem."

Me: "Not your problem? You charged me incorrectly!"

Her: "Yes, but it was a pending item and it never cleared."

Me: "But my bank still charged me $72.00 because of *your* pending item."

Her: "That's not our problem. You need to talk to your bank."

Me: "And if my bank refuses to refund it?"

Her: "Then I guess you're out $72.00..."

Me: "So let me get this straight. You incorrectly charge me, overdraw my account, my bank penalizes me for your mistake and it's not your problem."

Her: "How is this our mistake?"

Me: "YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO CHARGED ME!"

Her: "We didn't. It was placed as a hold, but we didn't charge you. If your bank charged you incorrectly then you have to take that up with your bank, it has nothing to do with us. Have a good day."

And my bank is saying that it's their fault.

I will NEVER use them again. I was thinking about getting a credit monitoring company, but not after this experience. Don't ever sign up with these people.

RIPPED OFF
I recently signed into this website because it said I could view my report for free. I called to cancel and the girl talked me into staying on board for another month because that would be free. Well in the meantime I was charged 14.95 and then i called to find out when I could cancel and find out how to view the report before I cancelled. While I was on the line with the girl she told me how to look at the report but failed to mention that I could view the report and failed to mention that I would be charged and additional 29.95 for even looking at this report. Well now there is another pending charge of 14.95 that they claim is going to be released back into my account but my question is WHY IS IT PENDING ON MY FREAKING ACCOUNT!!! This has to be fraud in some form or fashion and I am really pissed of that this type of thing is allowed to take place. No wonder they can advertise everywhere hell they are ripping people off left and right!!!

they DO NOT cancel your account by phone, but they will give you a cancellation number!!
Watch out! I got a free credit report and cancelled by phone (866-365-8654 use 1 for free report cancellation),
and received a cancellation number. Then the same day I receive an email from the company requesting me to login with username and password (which I actually wrote down, even though it was automatically assigned and easy to miss ! I know these companies), and "confirm my cancellation". Of course the lady on the phone did NOT inform me about this additional step. without watching out, of if the email had landed in my spam folder, I would not have known about this. I called them and spoke with manager who with considerable hesitation finally confirmed that these are their practices, and the email was not fraudulent (even though it did look fraudulent.)

So I informed him that I would place this comment on the web, unless he'd confirm to me on the phone that my cancellation number was in fact valid. He would not do that. So I told him, that I will send an email to them, to be able to prove what was going on, and should this charge appear on my credit card, I'd dispute it through the credit card company., with this documentation. He had nothing further to say, he was not willing to give me his name, or his email address either, and only came out with [email protected], after I kept telling him he needs to give me a valid email address where I can direct my report.
I hope this is helpful. The free credit report I received was only from TransUnion, and there were errors.
I'm not sure what was the source of these errors, but I will adress them directly, not through them.

Stolen From
I never visited creditreport.com and some how they began billing me in Jan of 09 for $14.95 a month for credit reports. They did not even send me a credit report until 03/25/2009 so they were charging me without authorization and for nothing since I wasn't getting anything. A.K.A. STEALING MY MONEY! I did not recieve an authorization e-mail stating that I had signed up for anything, but when I called they said they had sent something on 01/09/09. I asked them to forward this for my record and they could not forward any proof of sending this. I called and canceled after being billed for 6 months (total=89.70). Hopefully it is canceled. I would like to know how to get my money refunded because I don't like being stolen from. To top it all off, the lady on the phone that I spoke with, Nicole, stated that I should keep having them monitor my credit report to protect from identity theft!!! The only identity theft going on in my credit card account is from creditreport.com. This company should be sued and I want my money back!!! and then some for my headaches.

Unauthorized payment
I ordered a report in 2006, then cancelled my enrollment. Now, 3 years later, I get a 14.95 deduction in my bank account, paid to creditreport.com. When I called them about it, they insisted that I had ordered another report. I insisted that I had not even been to their website in three years. They told me that I need to file a police report for identity theft. I believe that if my identity had been stolen, there would be more than just that one charge, to Creditreport.com, in my bank statement.

Unauthorized billing
Supposedly this is a free service. But in light blue text on a blue background, they automatically enroll you in a credit monitoring program, which costs $15-$30 a month. They never notify you until it shows up on your credit card statement.

Don't use these people unless you read ALL of the fine print.
