CreditReport.com Reviews

Deceptive Practices and Rude Customer Service
On May 17, 2008 I signed up for a credit report. What CreditReport.com does NOT make clear is that there is a mandatory sign-up for an $11.95 monthly credit monitoring "service". You then have to opt out of this before the 30-day free trial period ends.

It really says something that you have to opt out of a service rather than opt in, no? Talk about a scam.

At any rate, I only realized this once they had charged me for the second month (the first apparently was free).

The day I received the charge, June 17, I called them up expecting that they would simply refund me the money for the service that I was unaware of and had not used.

On the first try they refused and were only willing to cancel the service.

Since the first month was free, I should not have been charged for that month, and should have retained service until July 17 (the month they forced me to pay for). However, they canceled the service and ended it immediately (June 17), thereby effectively charging me the $11.95 for nothing.

When I called back to complain they gave me the run around for a while. When I mentioned that they must get a lot of complaints like this since as there were so many on the internet, the guy spoke over me repeatedly and rudely told me that other credit report agencies got more.

After a long, drawn out argument "Fernando" told me that he was going to refund me the money. I've got the cancellation report and have contacted my bank to notify them that any further charges would be fraudulent.

If you have problems, call their toll free number and ask to speak to "FERNANDO 612" or "FERNANDO 6127" (he changed the number by the end of the phone call). If they tell you it is not possible to refund your money point out that you read online that they did.

This is a horrible, horrible service. PLEASE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T USE IT!!! They are betting on people not noticing, paying the first month for a service they were unaware of, and not having the fortitude to complain enough or take legal action against them to get their money back.

I looked for class action suits against them, but as of this point there don't appear to be any.

According to both customer service people that I spoke to the agreement was plainly stated when you sign up, but it wasn't so plain as to catch my eye. They are, at the very least, being astonishingly sleazy.

Mini creditrpt charges
I called for a free credit report and every month since then I have been billed $11.95. When I tried to stop the charges they said I couldn't stop them because I agreed to a contract if I didn't call them after 30 days of the report. I had never agreed to anything like this. This is their way of charging you for something you don't want. After I told them I would go to my bank and stop the payments AND go to the State Attorney General they agreed to cancel any future charges.

Fraudulent Bank Withdrawls
They did the same thing to me! I called and cancled and they billed me again... I called and they said they had a record of me calling but no canclation, which is funny because my friends were there with me when I called, VERY upset and spoke to two people and then a supervisor who said she had finally cancled the account. A little over a month later MORE charges show up on my bank account. I called and the first person I talked to called me a liar said she would transfer me to a supervisor, I was put on hold for 15 muinutes and then it hung up.
I called back and the gentleman who answered tried to go over the whole thing just like the first girl, but this time lied to ME about when I had called them and then hung up on me. The third time I called back I got another gentlman who confirmed that the second gentleman had in fact given me "inacurate" information and gave me a number to the fraud department. The next day I called the fraud department and they have said that the refund should apply within 5-7 business days. I'll post again if this doesn't happen but if anyone is considering it do NOT use creditreport.com. They are awfull on every level if not straight up scammers.

charges to my credit card
DON'T USE CREDIT REPORT.COM

I only wanted a free credit report and was apparently was automatically given a service for 30 days that after 30 days I had to pay for. This was not made clear on their website. If it was in the terms and conditions, I missed that or didn't understand it.

When I called in to complain about this, I asked to be transfered to a representative, who told me that my money could not be refunded, and when I asked if I could make a complaint, she said yes, and then told me there was no way to make a complaint. So I am making one now.

Monthly charges to credit card after ordering a credit report
I was charged 11.95 for additional monthly service charges to my credit card after ordering a one-time credit report. I called to have them reverse charges but they would not. They said in fine print, that once you order the report you are automatically signed up for a 30 day free trial, and if you don't cancel the service you will be charged monthly. Of course the person on the phone was hard to understand because they probably resource their reps out of the US. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE! IT'S HORRIBLE. Use Annualreport.com, which uses the 3 nationwide companies.

Fraud and scam!
I canceled my free 30 day trial of credit monitoring with creditreport.com within the trial period. Actually, within a day of the trial. I decided to go with truecredit instead. 30 days later, I was charged $11.95. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, it took forever on hold, he was rude and called me a liar. He refused to reverse the charges unless i could prove that i did in fact cancel. He wanted a confirmation number that i was never given. I have my cell phone record of the call which they would not accept.

Beware!!!

Fraud charges!
I signed up for a free credit report from this website in August. I called within the month to cancel but was told I did not have an account. My boyfriend and I signed up for the same service and called the same phone number that he'd copied on a piece of paper, so there is not chance I called a different site. I continued to be billed for $9.95 a month for the next six months by MINI*Credit report services. Upon realizing this I called the company to cancel (again) and to request a refund. I was told there was no record of my August call, was accused of lying. They told me my service would be canceled and they would refund me one month of service. I have contacted my bank, and have been advised to cancel my card that they've been billing and to submit a report of fraud. I intend to do this as I never received a cancellation email and was never even refunded the one month's payment I had been promised. I urge others to do the same. This scam is ridiculous and frustrating and needs to be stopped!

Membership for credit report!
Credit report FREE, so I checked it out, all of a sudden my credit card is billed $11.95 per month. I called to cancel and was told that the disclaimer says nothing after 30 days or you will be billed. I told them to cancel right away and take off the charge, which they would not do. So I am calling my credit card co to tell them not to pay. Today day is 3-26-08, my charge was for 3//18 and they still would not take it off.

If all of these complaints are listed, why is something not being done...

unwanted and unknown charges
They took money out of my bank account that I didn't realize. The thing is I didn't even give them my bank account number or anything of that sort! Thay have taken out $11.95 twice from my account.

Unauthorized auto billing renewal
They renew automatically and you have to say yes to get monitoring to get your report (which was 39.95 not free). I got my credit card company to investigate and got my money back. They keep rebilling and i will never get my money back as they do it for thousands automatically. Avoid them at all costs or cancel service way in advance.
