Unauthorized Charges
I had discontinued my services with this company due to poor quality, speed, crashes, etc. Removed my automatic debit information and authorization, only for this company to go in 2 months later and debit my checking account, subsequently overdrafting it! For a new month and a month in which no service was on! Not only did they confirm they could see service had not been used, but offered to extend a free month service to try them again. I expressed that a refund to reconcile my account due to their unauthorized charges was the desire, they assured me the request would be submitted to their Billing office for refund, as well as sending a request to my bank to also consider reversing the nsf fees. Hmph! One month, 5 SUPERVISORS and 5 CRICKET LIES later, they had the audacity to call me and say since they could see I was using the FREE MONTH service they extended to try to keep me as a customer, they felt justified in not honoring refunding the unauthorized charges they assessed to my account! Not only does Cricket provide a poor quality of service product-wise, but to justify their error through lies and condescending insults to their customers is a hideous shame!

PLEASE READ THIS CRICKET "FAIR USE POLICY"
This Fair Use Policy states important requirements regarding your use of the Cricket service. You should read this carefully as it contains important information. Cricket may revise this Fair Use Policy from time to time upon notice by posting a new version of this document on www.mycricket.com or any successor URL(s). All revised copies of this Fair Use Policy are effective immediately upon posting. Accordingly, customers and users should regularly visit the Cricket web site. Service is subject to the Cricket Terms and Conditions of Service, which you should read before activating service. Service is not available in all areas; see www.mycricket.com for detailed coverage maps.

At Cricket, our goal is to give each customer the fastest service possible at the best value. We are always striving to develop programs and policies that help make that possible. Our Fair Use Policy is designed to impact the fewest customers while helping ensure the best speeds for the vast majority of our customers.

Cricket has recognized that that a small percent of customers account for a disproportionate share of data usage on the Cricket network. To ensure that all customers have equitable access to the Cricket network, Cricket has implemented a Fair Use Policy, Cricket sets usage levels on the amount of data a customer can upload and download within stated periods of time. If you exceed your rate plan usage levels, Cricket will temporarily reduce the speed at which you can send and receive data over the Cricket network. You will still be able to use the service but your speed will be slower. Cricket may use other traffic management and prioritization tools to help ensure equitable access to the Cricket network for all customers. Your service speed is not guaranteed and is subject to this Fair Use Policy.

Cricket has set a rolling 30-day data usage level ("Usage Level") per customer. As shown in your rate plan brochure or on www.mycricket.com, this Usage Level varies based on the rate plan you've selected. Every day, we measure your upload and download data usage ("Actual Usage") to determine if your total Actual Usage, as aggregated over the previous 30 days ("Usage Total"), exceeds the Usage Level for the rate plan that you selected. During hours of operation, you can inquire about your Usage Total versus your monthly Usage Level by calling 1-800-Cricket and speaking with a Broadband Care representative.

Once the rolling 30-day data usage is below your rate plan Usage Level upload and download speeds will be restored.

You are likely to avoid any limitations imposed by the Fair Use Policy if your use is typical of the majority of Internet users and consists primarily of Web surfing and a reasonable amount of downloading. The rate plan brochure shows the Usage Level for each plan. The Usage Level specifies the amount of data that you can upload and download before your access speed is reduced.

Please note that your usage total is far more likely to exceed your rate plan Usage Level if you use peer-to-peer file sharing programs, you use a webcam or you download full length movies excessively, large quantities of music files, full software applications or similar high-bandwidth activities.

Cricket reserves the right to protect its network from harm, compromised capacity or degradation in performance. Cricket reserves the right to limit throughput speeds or amount of data transferred, and to deny, modify or terminate service, without notice, to anyone whose usage adversely impacts our network or service levels. We may monitor your compliance with the above but will not monitor the content of your communications except as otherwise expressly permitted or required by law.

All rate plans are subject to Cricket's Acceptable Use Policy available at www.mycricket.com. You are responsible for maintaining virus protection when accessing service.
Prohibited Uses

The broadband wireless Internet service may not be used for illegal purposes or purposes that infringe upon others' intellectual property rights, or in a manner that interferes with other users' service, interferes with the network's ability to fairly allocate capacity among users, or that otherwise degrades service quality for other users.
Approximate Data Usage Examples

Basic information and examples showing the approximate data usage for several common Internet activities appear below.
Application Approximate Size

* E-mail (1 text page without attachments)...3 KB
Based on this assumption, you would need to send and/or receive approximately 1, 747, 627 e-mails in a month to reach 5 GB
* Word Document (5 text pages)...70 KB
Based on this assumption, you would need to download approximately 74, 897 Word Documents in a month to reach 5 GB
* Web Page...150 KB
Based on this assumption, you would need to look up approximately 34, 952 web pages in a month (or over 1, 000/day) to reach 5 GB
* Digital Photo...500 KB
Based on this assumption, you would need to download approximately 10, 485 low resolution digital photos in a month to reach 5 GB
* PowerPoint Presentation (20 pages text & light graphics)...3 MB
Based on this assumption, you would need to download approximately 1, 707 PowerPoint presentations in a month to reach 5 GB

Note: The above examples are just estimates, based on approximate size assumptions. Actual file sizes and user experiences will vary.

WE ALL KNOW THAT IF CRICKET ADVERTISED THE TRUTH OR A 'FAIR USE POLICY' THAT SOME OF US WOULD HAVE NEVER WASTED OUR MONEY ON THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE! Shame on Cricket. YOU LIARS.

paid for service-does not work
This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The worst customer service ever. Nothing but a bunch of lying indians. I purchased there broadband, plugged it in and it does not work but was told that they are sorry but I can not have my money back. The person actually said if the product does not work, find someone to fix it. This company is owned by Leap Communications in San Diego and I suggest everybody call that company and complain. I am calling the company and I will not settle for being ripped off. I was also told it is the company policy not to give refunds. We will see about that!!!

LIED ABOUT SERVICE LOCATION
Dear Sir of Madam,

My fiance lives in NYC and when he came to visit me in Randallstown MD he bought a cricket broadband from a cricket store where I live. Before he ordered it he asked the representative if there was service in NYC and he told him that it was. Well when he got to NYC he could not use it. Then I checked on the internet to see if it was in NYC and it is not. The representative t9ld him that he did the research and he said it was in NYC and so my fiance is now in a contract and lost 100.00 dollars and he is not able to use his broadband. H9w can I get his money back it has not been three days yet.

Thank-you

broadband service is not what they claim
The only thing good about Cricket broadband is that you aren't stuck in a contract. I've had dial-up, cable, broadband. They all have their cons and Cricket is no better than any other service. The bars on your modem DO NOT matter. You can have four bars flashing at 2/second and it will still take you 8 hrs to stream a movie. The modem control display has worked for me only a handful of times. The rest of the time the display claims that I'm not even connected to the internet "0 sent; 0 received" Of course I have to disagree with them because if I wasn't online then I WOULDN'T HAVE A HEADACHE FROM RELOADING MY PAGE FIVE TIMES! (Note* I have used tech services to check my settings. So when "Cricket" says it must be my settings they are wrong) I'm not impressed with Cricket's Broadband. I have to say that I have good customer service sometimes and HORRIBLE service when I go into the Cricket Store but that has nothing to do with Cricket and everything to do with the individual. What is disheartening is when you think you've found something good and it turns out to be a dud :(

Broadband limitations
After three calls to technicians with three different answers in bad english, I still do not understand the concept of billing/speed limitation. I really dont give a crap how they figure it all. What I would like to see can be summed up in an analogy.

I put five dollars in the tank of my car. When that five dollars of gas runs out I have to push the car. With Cricket, there is some guy sitting in my car keeping my foot off the pedal because my average speed calculated by him determines if I can drive fast or not. Remember, you put five dollars of gas in the tank with your money.

Give me my full five gig and when it runs out I'll crawl. Anything less is deceptive marketing. This practice Cricket has is very low on the ethics scale to me. Not my fault they sell more bandwidth than capacity. You do know this is what it is all about right?

Billing
Cricket Broadband Auto-Bill Payment is a scam. I set up bill pay online and with a customer service rep. The system will not autopay and therefore they charge an extra $10 every time the bill is late. Customer service does not speak English and the company is an absolute SCAM!

There is no savings with this company. Pay $15 extra, go with another provider, and save tone of trouble, time, and get better coverage.

CRICKET ABSOLUTELY STINKS!

Customer Servce
I down loaded the update that they said was now available for my Cricket modem, IT QUIT WORKING! I took it 70 miles to the nearest store they "Flashed" it (under protest) They couldn't get it to work in the middle of their service area. Then blamed it on where I lived. Don't bother complaining to the Missouri Attorney General's Office for consumer affairs, They won't do anything. This is the worst customer service that I have ever encountered!!! If this save one person the aggravation they put me through I'm elated.

TECHNICAL DISASTER
Great start and really LOUSY FINISH!
This company seems to operate as a FACADE...LOOKS GOOD UNTIL YOU OPEN THE HOOD!
The Signal is almost non existent at times and leaves you waiting for over 30 minuts at times.
The UNLIMITED service does have LIMITS...AND YOU GET SCREWED.
This company has MINIMAL SUPPORT in servicing their customers.
This company has MINIMAL ASSETS with regard to their own hardware to support the customers.

Go to a store and find the proverbial: "LIKE IT OR LUMP IT" bottom line.
They really don't care and when WE put them out of business, they will go get another name and do it all over again! CALL THE FCC AND REPORT THESE PEOPLE !! EMAIL THE FCC AND REPORT THESE PEOPLE. MAKE SOME NOISE AND GET THEM OFF THE AIR.
