Doesn't care
I just bought a Sanyo Zio from Cricket . Just switching over to the new payment plan was a hassle and seemed underhanded. They told me that I was a "post" payer and needed to be a "pre" payer. I have never known Cricket to have a post-pay system. It has always been pre-pay as far as I knew! So, I now had to pay for my previous month in addition to paying the next month before I could switch. Does this make any sense?
Next, I am informed that I have 30 minutes of talk time to decide if I like the phone... WHAT? The guy tells me not to talk on it much so I can mess with the features. WHAT? This is my only phone! I use it for everything! I had 30 minutes gone before I left the parking lot!
Needless to say, I hate the phone. I paid $350 just to get the phone and switch the service. I have been a Cricket customer since the beginning and they are really pushing me away. Time to find a better option...

Stole my money!
Okay so I have a Cricket pay-go phone. A phone that requires no contract. I pay $35.00 on the 17th of every month for my basic phone. I've had Cricket for a couple of months now and have never had any problems before. So a couple days ago (7.17.11) I paid for another months service using my phone. This time was unusual because the automated system did not give me a confirmation number, instead it connected me to a rep who had no idea what was going on, so I just hung up. So then I try to make a phone call and I get an automated system saying I have "insufficient funds". So I go to check my partners online bank statement (because she pays for my phone) and it said that Cricket had already took the money out, but yet I could not call or text on my phone because I had "insufficient funds". So I called several times that day trying to fix my problem, and each time I would get a representative that would tell me to call back an hour later because they were going through "assistance maintenance". So I called back each hour since 4:30 PM only to be told each time to call back an hour later. I kept calling and calling until it was finally 11:00 PM and their costumer support lines were closed. So I call back around 6:30 AM and they basically told me the same thing and to call back an hour later. I went to sleep and called back around 2:00 PM, this time the representative told me that their system showed "no payments" and there was nothing she could do because I didn't pay it. I told her that I had the bank statements but she said I had to have a confirmation number, (which I didn't have because the automated system did not tell me it), so I hung up on her and decided just to go in person to a Cricket store. So I call the Cricket store on Boulder Hwy in Las Vegas, NV, I asked the guy working there if I could come in and show him the bank statements and if he could fix this problem for me. He was very rude and he told me just to go to the Cricket store on Flamingo and hung up on me. So I went there and then the guy told me I had to go to Cricket Corporate. I drove all the way there to show them the bank statements I had printed out from online. The lady I had showed it to had went to the back room to talk to the manager and he told her that I needed to get a bank statement from the actual bank, not from online. I didn't see why because it says the same numbers and everything on it that it would if I had gotten it from the bank. I told the lady that my bank was far (because there's only 3 in all of Las Vegas) and that they charge money for bank statements. She said there was nothing she could do until I showed them those bank statements, and even if I had them I would still have to wait a couple of days for them to "process it" and do all of these other things. Then I said I could have the bank call them right now and tell them that everything was approved and that the money was taken out. She said no I had to get the other bank statement (which is the same thing I already showed her). So I asked her if I could have the bank fax them over, she said okay. My partners bank said they did not "do" faxing. So now I have to wait until tomorrow to go all the way to the bank and pay for the statements, then all the way to Cricket Corporate just to show them the same thing I did when I had went there. They don't even know if they can "fix" it. Gas isn't cheap and I'm still without a phone I already paid for. They're not even offering me any discounts or at least my money back if I can prove I paid for it. This is the WORST customer service I have ever had. How is a bank statement not enough proof? Whether I got it from online or not it still has all the account numbers and enough proof to show that I had paid for it!

lying customer service reps and bad services
I contacted cricket about getting service for myself and my wife, when i first called them the customer service rep was very helpful and answered all of my answers. I asked if they gave refunds if the serivce didn't work out and they said yes they would refund both the phones and service as long as the phones had been used less then 30 mins and i cancelled the service within the first week. They also told me that they used the same towers sprint does to increase their cell phone range which I was happy about becuase we get strong sprint signals in the home. They charged me for every thing including my first month bill right up front. As soon as we got the phones we realized we were going to have problems we could not get and signals in the house or at my job. The phones didn't ring at all we just got messages that there was a missed call. The people we called could not hear us and after about 2 mins of yelling into the phone can you hear me, the call was dropped. That same night I called the customer service and I was told by a customer service rep they would refund me for my phones I just had to mail them back. But then she told me I should not have been charged for my monthly bill until after the first month was up but to get refunded I had to go into a cricket store with my proof of payment, when I told her to cancel my plan she then told me she couldn't do that did not refer me to anyone else just told me to go to my local store. So the next day I went into my local cricket store and was told something completely different. 1) they always charge you're first bill up front. 2) they are a "prepaid" cell phone company and do not give refunds under any circumstances. 3)there are 2 different 1800 numbers and only one is actually cricket the other one just sales their items and signs you up (but doesnt know their policies yet they answer customer service questions and never refers you to the real cricket customer service number) 4) anything sold online has to be taken care of online if there are any problems you cannot go into you're local store and handle it (unless its paying you're bill or cancelling you're phone plan) and finally 5) for me to even be considered for a refund i have to fill out request forms send them in and then wait 6-8 weeks just to be denied for a service I couldn't use and barely had for 24 hours. So I left the store went to the post office mailed the package with the phones certified mail that way they cannot lie about never recieving it and refusing me a refund on phones I barely put 10 mins on, then i contacted my bank and disputed the charges for the service which I am now in the process of fighting. Cricket is a company full of liars and thieves as long as I am concerned and if you were smart you would go somewhere else.

A Come Back Postcard
I recieved a Come Back post card in the mail from Cricket. It stated "Dont worry about your past due balance, we'll waive it'. I was given two options to either call or visit . After calling several time they continued to fib saying your phone will be on for free in 24-28 hours. Two days passed and my phone remained off. ii then visited there store where I was told the cards were acting up. Why send out letters if they aren't true huh ?

customer service/credit
I have tried for over 4 days to get my international text added to one of my three lines-cricket customer service upgraded the wrong number-then charged me a pro-rated fee to get it stragithen out-i was not told that i need to add funds to the flex bucket to use the text until i called again to check on service. so i requested the flex bucket funds be added-they took my funds from my card and placed the funds on the wrong phone line-I called to get this corrected and was told that i would have to pay again and wait another 24 hrs, before the service could be switched. they continue to make errors -and i have to pay for the changes. oh they could remove the payment to the bucket and only credit my account. what a bunch of crap. I am now looking for a new company to change my three lines too.

Continuous phone calls
Over the last 3 days, I have been subjected to more than 3 dozen hang up calls from at least 5 different out of state phone#'s all related to Cricket. I screen all my calls, so, when I call the # back I am directed to call *611. So I do this and get the usual garbage, finally I get to a customer service rep who can't understand a word of English and they do nothing. I have sworn at them, begged, pleaded and cajoled and nothing, they keep calling. I do not owe money, my bill is paid in full, just as it has been for over 5 years. WTF is up with you douchebags! Any more calls and I will sue your fat lazy asses from here to China and back.

No one willing to help
I added an extra Cricket wireless line to for my wife after receiving a text from them promoting the “New Kiocera Rio” phone. Me and my wife went to the Cricket Store on Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego and bought the phone. The main reason my wife wanted to have the phone was because it had a music player and was relatively cheap. Well about a week after we bought the phone we bought a memory card, loaded some music on it and tried out the music player. Well...the music player did not work and we took the phone back over that weekend to have it replaced. The store clerk then tried using his memory card in the slot and it still did not work but referred us to a corporate store for a refund/exchange. Already fuming at this stage I took the time to take the phone to the corporate Store in San Marcos where the store manager mentioned that there is a problem with the music player on the Kiocera Rio phone as they have received an internal memo stipulating the problem and a replacement would thus not do any good and referred me back to the Store in Clairemont Mesa. It is now a month later, everybody at cricket just shrugs their shoulders while we are sitting with a piece of junk which battery barely last half a day as well. I am considering cutting all ties with cricket and their appalling service. It must be noted that cricket still sells the kyocera Rio to unsuspecting customers in their stores
