FLASHING PHONES
Two weeks ago i walked into the Cricket location in Norwood, OH . I spoke to the sales lady there for about a half hour in regards to using the phone that I had with my current plan for that company. She told me to go to www.unlocktotalk.com to have my phone"unlocked". I came home and did what she said to do, . I got on the website and paid for the service to have my phone fixed. The website charged me twice and did not provide the service they were paid for, so i had to go to another similiar site. This time it worked. All the while, this process taking more than 10 days and costing me $60.00.

When I take my unlocked phone into the Cricket store I am waited on by someone different this time. He proceeds to tell me that they can not use my current phone. He claims that it is the wrong kind of program. They dont sell GSM service. Upset that I have been through this process for so long now and this is what results I get, I leave. I did not want to buy a cheap outdated, over priced phone that they sell. I went home and borrowed a phone from my neighbor. I went back to the store and the assistant manager tells me that I will have no service guarentee if I use the borrowed phone. I told him that I understood that. They activated the phone with my new number. They said that if i wanted to port in my old number that I would have to call a number through the week to get that done.

Before I left the store this assistant manager was offering to buy my Motorola Razor V3i from me. My question to you is this, if it could not be used for that service why would he be asking to purchase it from me? I have never delt with rudeness in such a fashion in all my life.

So today I call the number that I was given to have my number ported into my phone. MORE RUDE!!! The person on the line was unprofessional, spoke in ebonics and slang. If this is the way that the company is ran and treats the customes I can only Imagine what is going happen. I have been a cutstomer for 72 hours and all ready I am about to throw the phone and service in the trash.

If you do not have to use them, I recommend that you go some where with a good reputation.

service areas
i live in a town that is growning very quickly, and yet we do not have cricket services out here... Holloman Air Force Base is a very large base, and seeing as not only do we have the Air Force, we have the German Air Force and the Marines out here as well.

most of the residents out here do not have a cell phone due to the fact that Alltell, Verizon and Sprint services suck. these services overcharge, disconnect, and customer service is horrible.

i lived in El Paso, TX where we had cricket service, and it was wonderful... but go 87 miles away, and my phone is rendered useless...

many people would really like to see a cricket tower installed, if at all possible.

please let me know if you ever plan to have one out here.

Poor service!
Don't join Cricket! I got a phone there for my daughter, a Kyocera. After a couple of months the wall charger died. Called Cricket and they said go to where I bought the phone and get another charger. So I went to the local Cricket store and bought another one for $20. They took the defective one and threw it away. Everyone is happy.

Two more months go by and now the Kyocera is not wanting to charge anymore. Called Cricket and they said bring the phone in and they'd replace it for free. So I took the phone in and they looked at the charger and said it wasn't a Kyocera charger so the warranty is voided. I explained I bought the charger from them but they said that didn't matter not their problem. So I talked to another Cricket representative after experiencing a most unpleasant experience. The original representative was extremely rude. The second representative explained I needed to bring in the original charger with the phone and then they could do something. But guess what I can't because they threw the original one away. So I apparently have no recourse even though this is their fault and the phone is defective. So I feel I've been taken by the company. Frankly they are unprofessional and obviously could care less about their customers. If you are thinking about using them then think twice.

bill pay
I have tried 3 times to pay bill over phone through automated system using a personal check. The computer keeps saying theycan not process my check. This is a current account with adequate funds. Also, last month I made an ACH debit payment over the phone, they claim was less than the normal bill. They normally will not take anything less unless you make special arrangements. This company is difficult to deal with.

making me pay for a full month of service when i have only had it on for 2 weeks.
I had my phone shut off because i'm a single mom of 3, and don't always get child support on time. But anyways i called in and said that i woould be in on friday to pay my bill, the operator said that's fine, i didn't make it to the store in time to pay it. so i got up there at 10:10 am on sat. to pay it. they said that its shut off, and i need to pay 15 dollars for a reconection. I asked if there was anyway of getting it added on my next bill or have a manager waive it, i'm always on time paying my bill. he said no that there wasn't anyone there to help me. I either want my phone on or i don't. so i got mad and said no and walked out. well 2 weeks later i went in to get my phone on and i paid 83 something and he said that in 2 weeks my next bill will be due. I asked why when i haven't had it on for 2 weeks, why should i pay for service when it wasn't on? at that time i just paid it and got it back on. as i was leaving i saw an adbvertisement th at said if you can't afford your whole bill then you can pay 22 dollars and you'll have an extra week to pay it. and i think it was 17 or 19 dollars would be credited to your account. WHY DIDN'T THAT LADY I SPOKE TO TELL ME THAT WHEN I CALLED HER AND SAID THAT I WOULD PAY IT ON FRIDAY.I COULD OF PAYED THAT.... AND EVERYTHING TO THIS DAY WOULD BE FINE. BUT NOW MY BILL IS DUE CAUSE ITS ONLY BEEN 2 WEEKS SINCE I HAVE GOTTEN IT BACK ON AND THEY SAY IT'S BECAUSE THE DUE DATE OF WHEN IT'S DUE NEVER CHANGES.... WHY IS THAT???? SINCE ALL OF THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON I HAVE BEEN LOOKING INTO OTHER CELL PHONE PLANES AND COMPANIES.

Poor service!
I set up a bridge pay on Saturday Oct 13 for me to pay $20 on Monday the 15 and the rest of my balance on that Friday the 19th. I called Monday and spoke to a woman with very bad english and submitted my payment. It took forever, after about almost 10mts she tells me that her screen just went blank and could not give me a conformation # and said we could do it all over again. I declined and told her to notate in the system what had happened and I would call back later on that day to make sure the payment went thru. I called back after 5:00 and spoke to another gentleman which was even more difficult because of his broken english and he repeated to me that he saw the bridge pay and the payment was accepted. I asked him again did the payment go thru and he told me yes.

I go to send my son a text today on Oct 16 and my phone is cut off. I call cricket told to another gentleman explained to him what happened the day before and he tells me no payment was made and I should have made the payment. I explained to him again. There was almost a 60second pause until I said "Hello is anybody there" and than he answered me saying I should have paid the bill. I asked him to repeat back to me what I had explained to him more than once. He could not all he kept saying is that I should have paid the bill. I asked for a supervisor he said he was. I hung up.

I called back immediately asked for a supervisor the person went to get my information and I refused to go thru my explanation with someone who could not help me so they transferred me to someone who said she was the supervisor. I gave her my cell phone number and she repeated back to me something totally different from what I gave her. I hung up. I have had cricket for maybe going on 2yrs and always paid my bill on line but recently for the last 3mths I was not able to get into my account and had to call my payment in. I explained this to the operators every month I call and they transfer me and I'm on hold for so long I have to hang up and even if I spoke to someone I doubt that I could understand them. So know I have NO PHONE.
I did without a cell phone for years until almost 2yrs ago now it is like my 2nd life line. My children call, school anyone if they can not reach me at home. It really is for emergencies for my kids or if something happens and my car breaks down. I went with cricket because of the no contract and unlimited minutes. This is my first bad experience with cricket and MY LAST. I will not be getting my phone turned back on and I will have to do some research and go with a company that has a contract. I have not heard really anything good about any of the other phone companies. Cricket needs to stick with America and I hate to say that but I know I am not the only one. I cant keep calling and staying on the phone for 10mts just giving my basic information before I can get to my problem. I cant call anyone to really voice my frustration because no one speaks english.

Well this is all I have to say about that!!!

Wrongful billing & poor customer service
I have had a Cricket cell phone for 4 months. The day I purchased the phone I was supposed to be given my first month of service for free with the cost of the phone. That day, I paid Cricket $229.00, then the charged me AGAIN without my authorization. When I called to complain, they said they had "credited" it back to my bank account. I watched and waited. It has been 3 months since my complaint and It STILL has not been credited to my account PLUS they overbilled me AGAIN! I have paid Cricket $577.00 in the past 3 months WITHOUT authorization. I finally had to change my debit card number to stop their overbilling my account, so they cut my service off. I have been to 2 the their "full service" stores WITH my bank statements and bills in hand and have PROVEN that they are wrong, but their personnel seem incapable of actually thinking for themselves. Because their computer screen shows credits to my bank account, they cannot see the fact that the credits never took place. Calling the 800 number is a joke. At least the people in the store pretend to be nice while not helping but the people on their 800 number are flat out rude while not helping. I submitted all of my documents to Cricket's Corporate office with absolutely NO response. Cricket is the very worst company I have dealt with in quite a while. I would be embarrassed to work for such a worthless operation.

Toy phones, no service
Cricket is the worst phone company in the world. Their phones DO NOT work. You can't get service, that's why it is unlimited. I live in KC, not in no man's land and this phone company does not have service. How many bars? One is a miracle. If you go outside a metro area by 10 miles, goodbye service... Don't waste your money!!!

Very poor service!
