Payment at service center not credited for 24 hours
I set up my Cricket phone account and paid extra for pa paper bill that never came. My phone was disconnected, but I paid my bill at a service center and was issued a receipt that stated my phone service would resume in 30 minutes. However, service was not returned in 30 minutes and the automated customer service system will not resume service unless I make another payment over the phone or on line. No live customer service person is available to handle any service problems - unless I make a duplicate. Also, payments made at service centers take an additional 24 hours to post even though it says it will take 30 minutes on the receipt.

They have the most stupid policy I have ever encountered when it comes to paying your bill. They charge you something like $3.00 if you walk into the store to pay your bill. I have never heard of a company that charges customers a fee for paying their bill on time. I asked the clerk at the local Cricket store here why I had to pay #3.00 just to pay my bill "ON TIME", she stated that -- that was their policy, so I was smart enough to complain about this procedure and she told me that I could pay online with a debit or credit card and there would be no charge. Now how silly is this: A customer walks in to the store and wants to pay their bill in cash, on time and they want to charge you $3.00 for that. Not a way to keep good customers. I opted for paying on the computer.<br /><br />

Another story this cell phone was purchased for my teenage son who held service with them for 2 years. He had to replace his phone once, but the phone cost $225.00, quite expensive if you asked me when other cell phone providers are offering them free to people everyday just to take out service with them.<br /><br />

Last their customer service leaves a lot to be desired in some areas, too.

false advertisement
Cricket has "False Advertisements". I purchased a $70.00 phone on a $35.00 plan and every month my bill goes up. I look at their commercials and they say that you pay a "Flat Rate" of what ever plan you purchase, but that is not true and I called the customer service and I was told that you only suppose to pay 1 flat rate. If you go into the stores than the same information does not apply to the advertisements. Cricket are ripping people off all over the Nation. They need to tell people that there are Hidden charges and stop lying to the customers. Those stores need to follow the same policy as the Advertisements. "Cricket Stop Ripping Off the Customers with your lies."

poor service
I wanted and inexpensive phone and plan for my 11 year old son and Cricket seemed to be my answer...boy was I mistaken!!! I ordered a re furb phone for 9.99 and 1 month free service plus the 15. act fee on line, it took 3 weeks to get it and many phone calls to customer service to find out what happened, every phone call when unanswered they couldnt help with anything. Why do they even have cusomer service if NOBODY HAS ANSWERS they don't even bother to look into anything and I couldn't cancel the order I had yet to receive till someone in their office gave me a call back...a call that NEVER CAME! 3 weeks later here is the e mail my phone is on it's way and in the mail is my new phone number a Kansas city number I live in Chicago!! Of coarse when I call C/S about this they can't help me they said when I get the phone to go to my local office and they will change the number, well the phone came and I took it in and guess what...THE PHONE COULD ONLY BE USED IN KANSAS CITY NOT CHICAGO!!! Why couldn't someone have told me that, say the guy who took my on line order or the rep I complained to about the e mail with the number in it before I signed for it?? Now, I am stuck with the phone since it was only 10 bucks and S/H back is 6 I might as well keep it they also will not refund my activation fee... NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM..THERE PRICES ARE SO GOOD BECAUSE THEY SUCK, THEY HAVE NO C/S REPS TO PAY. YOU SURE GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

I HAD CRICKET SERVICE FOR MY DAUGHTER AND I HAD THEM AUTOMATICALLY TAKE IT FROM MY ACCOUNT EVERY MONTH. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TAKEN OUT ON THE 15th FOR 50.00. THEN ONE DAY THE PHONE DOES NOT WORK AND I CALL AND THEY SAID I OWE 1- 1/2 MONTHS. THIS WAS ON JUNE 17. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAd A COMPUTER CLICH AND TOOK MY PAYMENT OUT ON THE 17th INSTEAD OF THE 15th OF JUNE AND SAID I NEED TO PAY FOR JULY NOW, ALTHOUGH i new IT WAS NOT DUE UNTIL THE 15th OF JULY. WHERE THEY GOT THE 1/2 MONTH OF PAY DUE I STILL AND WILL PROBABLY NEVER KNOW. THE PEOPLE I SPOKE WITH COULD NOT GRASP THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE SITUATION NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES WE WENT OVER IT. HOW THEY CAN SCREW UP THE SERVICE I HAD SO BADLY IS BEYOND MY UNDERSTANDING, WHEN THEY WHERE TAKING MY PAYMENTS AUTOMATICALLY FROM MY CHECKING ACCOUNT... NOW THATS BAD HUH !!! NEVER WILL I HAVE SERVICE WITH THEM AGAIN EVEN IF THEY OFFERED IT FOR FREE, THEY WOULD SCREW THAT UP TO PROBABLY... BEWARE PEOPLE

If you have had a bad experience with cricket...please use your computer to file a complaint with the FCC or Attorney General for your state.Don't waste your energy complaining..take action. Hurt them where it hurts. If enough people complain..maybe we can get a class action lawsuit. Directions:

I ORDERED A CRICKET PHONE OFF FROM MY CRICKET.COM AND FUCKIN NEVER CAME THEY KEPT LYING TO ME & SAYING THAT IT WAS COMING & IT NEVER DID &THEY ALSO LYING & TELLING ME THAT THEY WHERE GONIG TO LET ME TALK TO SOME IN THE INSTALLATION DEPT. poor service
I ordered a cricket phone online. Then found out my st. address is not listed by federal express . i figured ok i can't get a phone from then but the customer service agent informed me i could get a phone delivered usps to a p.o box because i live in a rural town in Letha, Idaho. so i ordered the phone. it was supposed to take a week so i figured ok. Well i waited a week then found out they mailed it NOT usps, but Ups. Most folks know that ups doesnt deliver to po boxes. anyways i got letter stating they as in UPS wanted my address, but as Fed Ex doesnt recognise my address neither does UPS even though i gave them the same address that's on my drivers license.I called cricket just to cancel my account and get my money back they refused And told me id have to deal with ups.i was hoping i could use cricket in lieu of tmobile. Very glad i dont have a contract with cricket and am going to stick with tmobile.
i went to the local cricket store in emmett idaho and the mgr of the store was very unpleasant and unwilling to help in any matter stating that you take your chances buying online

Broadband
I, like so many, puchased my cricket wireless broadband device, because it was cheaper than my cell phone company and there was no contract. 149.00 total for my 1st months service and the unit. I asked the sales rep, how long I had to bring it back if I didn't like the service and he said 3 days. This was on a Friday, by the way. I also asked him, specifically, what is the average download speed, because I watch alot of movies online and video conferencing for my job. His response was 700 kps, and he even showed me at their website. http://www.mycricket.com/cricketsupport/faqs/details?id=748&fromsearch=0. I said okay not bad and I was sold. I got home friday night and the minute I went online, I was downloading at 115 kps. My first thought maybe its just a busy night or there is a problem. So I called tech support. And guess what folks. No support, no answer, just automated chaos and finally a message that I had to call during normal business hours. So Saturday I go back to the store and talk with the same sales rep that sold me this crap. And he says, we were experiencing several outages last night and that the problem was resolved. He gave me a credit for my first month and I was mildly satisfied and thought okay I will try again. That evening I logged on while sitting on my patio, and I attempted to what an online episode of my favorite oldies show, night stalker. And guess what dudes and dudettes. The same freakin thing happened. My screens froze and I was booted off my connection. I logged back in and found that will sitting on my patio my speed increased to 220 kbps. I took my laptop in the house and it dropped to 23.5 kbps. I was logged on at 1 am. And still my download speed never got higher than 220 kbps. I have a brand new 4 gig mem, 320 gig HDD with 2.1 ghz of power. I used a friends broadband device and I was cruising away at 1gig. I went back to Cricket on day 3 and was told I couldn't return the unit and that my download speed would vary based on the weather, the number of people logged in, and my favorite, they type of website I was on. So not to be out done, I pulled my laptop out, plugged it up and showed the dumb...well you know, what I was getting for my money. I told him that I will just have to write a complaint to them and to the BBB, and he looked me square in the face and said, "Good Luck with that." Well I filed my complaint with the BBB and the FTC for their false statements about the speed of their broadband. The unit is capable of 3G speed, but Cricket and most providers don't offer this level of service. Just because my truck has 120 miles per hour on the speedometer doesn't mean it can actually go that fast. Now I am stuck with this damned unit and I don't use it anymore. It's only use now is when it's in PAPER WEIGHT MODE. Piece of advise for anyone looking to go cheap. "You'll pay for what you get and not get what you paid for"

Taking Money Out of My account without Authorization!
July 7th, 2009 we called to disconnect our phone. The lady said she would do it and it would take an hour for the phone to go off. We waited, still the phone was not disconnected. We kept calling back and they said to give it time. That our account said the phone had been disconnected. the next day we call and talk to another person who said the person we spoke with the day before didnt cancel our phone, but instead just took off our debit card info. The reason why we wanted to disconnect on the 7th of July was because our payment was going to be taken out of our account on the 8th and we were wanting to disconnect the phone anyways... so why pay for another month when you dont want the phone? Well, this guy on the 8th said he was sorry, he would issue us a 7-10 business day refund and had to have our debit card info for that. So we gave it to him. Only he didnt issue us a refund, he billed us! We waited for the refund and nothing came. After repeated phone calls, being hung up on and told numberous stories, we finally got to talk to a supervisor who told us they dont have a form that is for a 7-10 business day refund. They only have a 30 day refund form. So the guy that day really just used our account number to bill us instead of issue us a refund. Now when we called, they took the 7-10 day business day note off of the account and replaced it with a 30 day form. Which I doubt we will get back our $38.36 It really pisses me off. Im disconnecting my phone as well with them. We've had too much trouble with them. I contacted the Better Business Beauru and filed a complaint as well.
