Unauthorized billing
Bought a Cricket mobile broadband device to use while on vacation in August based on a customer service rep at Cricket saying the device in question would work on my wife's MacBook Pro. Got the device a few days before we left, installed the software, tried to get online for an hour and finally called Cricket only to be told that the wireless device they sold us was not compatible with our operating system. So, set up a return and asked them to cancel the service and was told we would be credited for the hardware when I returned it and that the service would be credited immediately and no further billing would occur. Returned the broadband device in early September.
Was looking at my most recent credit card statement and we still have not been credited for the hardware return AND they have charged us for two additional months of service ($100/mo) which is crazy because we canceled the service and what we originally signed up for was the $50/mo plan with no contract, cancel anytime, etc. We should not have been billed anything!
So, I just called Cricket and asked them what the hell was going on, where is my refund for the hardware and why am I still being charged? The customer service rep, who was clearly in India and barely understandable, and whose name was (this is no lie) Chelsea told me they have no record of me canceling the service and have not received the hardware. She said she will escalate my case and a senior customer service rep will call me back in 24 - 48 hours to tell me when I will be refunded, etc.
What kind of operation are these people running? I am so tired of being put through the ringer as a consumer.
