Poor Service, Misrepresentation and Fraud
I bought a Kyocera Candid II camera phone from Cricket Wireless. Last year (about 10 months ago). My phone plan includes unlimited Text/Pix messages. About 3 months ago I started not being able to send Picture messages. I tried several times to get help calling customer service and just kept going from #2 prompt to #3 prompt back and forth until I finally gave up. When I went to the store to pay bill the guy at the store didn't want to help with it, said I could send my phone in for repair. The other day I sent a message on line to Cricket about the problem my response was "In order to use CricketÃ® service, you must have a CricketÃ® phone due to software differences and internal locks placed on the phone from the manufacture to prevent use on another network. Also even with a flashed handset features such as picture messaging, roaming, web access and other features are not guaranteed to work. Additionally cricket uses CDMA technology and phones that use GSM "Sim Card" technology will not work on our network. " I did by my phone from Cricket and if they are going to change the technology how can they do that and not notify you. How can they charge you for it? As far as I am concerned they are stealing from me and should be arrested. Why can't these business be held accountable and charge with fraud and stealing?

Problems with Cricket Wireless
I received an email from Cricket Communications advertising their new Cricket Wireless service.
I wanted to learn more, so I went to their website:
Cricket Data Cards USB Broadband Modem.
First, I noticed that in the small print it states: "Works with Windows (2000 through Vista 32-bit) and Mac (Leopard)".
Since all of my (and my son's) 5 computers are Vista 64, I wanted to verify compatibility.
An exhaustive search of the web-page and their Home Page, revealed NO links to "Contact Us", "About Us", "Technical Support" or similar.
I DID find a link to "Support", but it ONLY has FAQ's (about their phone service).
There is NO link to "Customer Support".
I clicked on "Find a Store" and found several in my area. At 7:30PM on a Friday night in San Diego (second largest city in CA), I was not able to find a single store open.
I called the 800 number for sales and the recording stated the number for Customer Service was "1-800- CRICKET". Seeing no reason to hunt down the number using letters, I waited for "Sales" for help or to get the number.
The "Sales" person (David) first told me the stores close at 8:00PM (I called way before 8) then was unable to give me an answer about the Vista 64bit compatibility, unable to give me a number or email address for technical support or the number or email for customer service.
I told him I had a problem doing business with a company that can't provide email or phone technical support. He told me to "have a nice day" and hung up.
From the email I received, I found a link to email "Customer Support" and discovered that you can ONLY email "Customer Support" if you already have a Cricket phone number. This link is NOT on the web page.
Since Cricket is not the only provider of wireless services, please check out this total lack of Customer Support, Customer Service, Technical Support, stores with reasonable hours (NO 24/7 support? Isn't wireless 24 hours?) and even no listed phone, email or address for the company (hiding?).
Everyone knows that ALL electronic devices (especially wireless) require technical support at one time or another.
It seems if you have a connection or other problem you are S.O.L.
Check it out before buying.

Terrible service
Please listen to me, if you get Cricket Wireless, YOU ARE GOING TO GET LOW RATE SERVICE, so if you want to do business, please consider someone else. YOU would do better with a pay per use phone. This people never answer the phone when they OVER CHARGE YOUR BILL. I waited four hours average on speakerphone for FIVE DAYS in a row and no answer. I had to call LEAP wireless for them to even answer the phone. Are you gonna accept this sh*t from these idiots. Even after someone told you they suck?!?!!
This is why companies get away with things and don't care, cause of people like you who don't stand up and be a human being and not take that from them. We as a people have the power, without us. NO COMPANY would exist. Think about it. You don't have to take this from these companies. We run this.
Also, now I cant get in contact with LEAP WIRELESS, which is Crickets parent company. I keep getting the run around on the pressing numbers to get to somewhere.
BUT GUESS WHAT PEOPLE, IF YOU CALL SALES, THEY WILL PICK THE PHONE RIGHT UP. Don't do that to yourself, I care about you more than them enough to write this for free. Don't punk yourself out, THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER OPTION.
You could try iCall or InternetPhone in the time being so you can get yourself together.
Please adhere, we must do something and one person won't help!

They lied to the customers and not really helping at all
I started to use Cricket on June 3, 2008.My plan is $35, 00 and I add international text mssg plan $5, 00.As soon I got home I've tried to send intl text, but the thing is I couldn't receive any intl text, I’ve tried to contact couple friends in another country to send me intl text again for couple of times. Unfortunately, I still couldn't receive any intl text.
I called the Customer Service (CS) right away, he said there's nothing wrong with my intl text, he said that it should be working and I have to try again. I’ve tried many times to send intl text to my friends, but still I can't receive any intl text.
I went to Cricket store in Dodge St, the CS checked my cell and she said there's nothing wrong with my phone. She suggested me if I still can't receive any intl text she'll make a trouble ticket. I said ok, just make a trouble ticket so the technical support can fix my problem. I asked the CS, how long does it take to fix my intl text, so I can receive my intl text cause I really need my intl text so I can contact my friends and family in another country, the CS said it took about a week or two. She also said that somebody will call me if it's been fixed. I’ve waited for 2 weeks, but nobody called me.
I called the CS like 4 times and I went back to the store, I got mad at her and I told her that she lied to me cause she promised me that after 2 weeks they can fix my problem. But they still can't fix my problem and not helping me at all.
I was really2 pissed cause it wasting my time, my money and my energy, I asked for a refund in 132nd W.Center, but they told me that they can't give any refund. They suggested me to do a trouble ticket again, I told them that I've already have a trouble ticket. They told me that I can exchange my cell but I have to pay $10, 00 shipping fee. I finally talked to the Manager, she told me the same that she can't give me any refund and I have to do a trouble ticket again, but this time she said she can exchange my cell without shipping fee. I told her, I don't want that, I just want to end the service cause Cricket was not helping me as a customer and the service was really2 poor. She said if I want to end the service I just have to disconnect the service and she didn't say sorry for what the Cricket has done to me, not even once! What kind of service is this? I have to pay $78, 86(cellphone+activation fee and other taxes) and Cricket is not really helping me at all, they’re not even trying to help! And she (the manager) told me too that there's nothing she can do about it. "Hello, there's nothing she can do about it?" Of course there is, Cricket should better give a good service to the customer, maybe the staff never get trained well of how to work in CS and how to work in cell phone business. Loyalty customer is the most important thing. But they're not helping the customer at all and didn't offer the best solutions to all customer's problems.
Why using CRICKET??? So, everybody out there, DON’T EVER USE CRICKET!!! Cause they lied all the time, not helpful and BULLSHIT!!!

Customer Service
I have tried to contact Cricket Customer Service for over a week and all I get is "all customer services reps are busy with other customers". I don't have the option to hold for the next available operator. I have called early morning until late at night. I even woke up at 1:00am to call and still received the same recording. There is no customer service on any end whether it is for a question on your bill or even technical services.
I decided to pay my bill to avoid the $15 reactivation fee and received a text stating that I should pay my bill. Tired customer service again...same recording.
It's so frustrating because I have called the authorized cricket dealers and no one can help. "There's nothing I can do" is the response.
There is no link on their website to contact customer service either. I've even tried the corporation office and left a voice mail. Let's see what happens.
Is there a customer service rep or reps that are there or did they ban that department?
Frustrated!

Billing errors!
My phone bill is always wrong. I had 2 phones on my account. One was stolen and i reported it and had it taken off my account. The next month it was still on my account and they were saying that i still owed a $40 balance from the month previous. Which is impossible because if you do not pay in full they will shut you off. After 2 hours on the phone they finally fixed it. This month they have once again charged me for the second phone. not only that but last month i overpaid my account so i would not have to pay this month. They are trying to bill me $101.00. My bill is only $45.00 and this month i should have a $55 credit no one can tell me where my extra money last month went. I keep transferring from person to person that does not understand nor speak clear english. They hung up on me because i asked for a supervisor. Now my phone is off and i cannot even get to customer service unless i pay the bill. What i can do!!! Plz advise smb!

Crappy service!
I have had a cricket phone for 4 months now. The other day the phone dropped my calls 6 times in a row i tried calling costumer service and the automated system says they are all busy, instead of putting me on hold it cycles through the automated system over and over... finally i call from my home phone and they pick up i tell them my phone calls were dropped 6 times in a row, this lady MEG tells me "your phone service wont drop since you have been paying on time" frigging idiot didn't even listen to my complaint or offer solutions. then i ask if there was a credit since my bill was lower and she asked why i wanted a credit... huh?!... i emailed them a month ago asking them to change my service to a smaller plan and taking off phone insurance i NEVER received anything stating they received or accepted my email, i ask the lady if changes were made and they were she sounds snooty now... these people are impossible to deal with! i hate cricket there costumer service is impatient and incompetent. You are better off going with someone else!

New cheap phone that is crap!
Decided after hearing from friends and relatives about the great "CRICKET WIRELESS SERVICE" that I would go ahead this month and make the switch from my current carrier to this service. I went into a nearby Cricket store, which is NOT a main store but a privately owned store on the southeast side area. Well not thinking much about how hard this transition was going to be actually be, I thought for now I would buy the most economical phone, which out of the seven other phones that were "out of stock" did not leave much to choose from- mainly this really CHEAP Cricket cell phone. THE EZ- phone if you will. BUT NOTHING EZ ABOUT THIS PHONE. After being told that I had to call the 1-866 number to transfer my old number to the new phone- and not being told that it would take over 4 hours, actually took 10 hours and a whole day with out my service. By this time I am not a happy camper, but being optimistic, ready for the next day. Well the next day comes, and I find out that this phone only holds 10 voice mail messages, and I begin to have problems with it. The numbers are sticking and I am dropping calls. By now I am fed up, so I take it back to this little mom and pop store, and to my suprise, this phone is not returnable after 30 minutes of talk time, well let me remind you that 10 hours of that was just in transferring the phone number, I did not even use it for a day, one for the charging of the new battery. Just trying to call customer took 2 hours of this talk time, before I took it into the store. By now I am fuming. So I decide to take it into a main Cricket store, the best they could do was to credit my account $10 lousy dollars and switch out this piece of crap for another same piece of crap. Now I have a new piece of crap which by now I cant return because I have used up this 30 minute limit which now nullifies the warranty. HOW ABOUT THOSE APPLES. I SHOULD HAVE NEVER SWITCHED FROM MY OTHER CARRIER, I SHOULD HAVE JUST GOTTEN ANOTHER PHONE.
Be aware of this Cricket, and be sure to ask lots of questions!!! and by no means, don't go into any of these mom and pop stores... they will not go over their products and you wont know what kind of phone you will be actually buying until your upset because the phone is junk!!!

Ported phone number
I left Cricket due to terrible service and ported my number over to Cingular. However, Cricket has repeatedly given my phone number out to new customers as their phone number. To top it off, I can't get in touch with anyone to fix the problem. I can't call 1-800-Cricket because I don't have an account with them. Cricket dealers can't help me and the full service stores don't answer their phone or returm messages. If anyone out there has been through this and knows what to do, please let me know.
