rip off
I live near this brother and sister owned auto repair shop and I carried a tire there and used their air hose to inflate it. I then returned home and installed it on the car and returned with one more tire and an air tank. I waited until a neighbor put air in his tires, (who incurred no charges), and then I inflated the second tire and put air in my air tank. The air hose is in front of the building and is often used by the locals to inflate tires. I asked if there was any charge for using their air hose to inflate my tires and was told there would be a $5 per tire charge. I laughed at first thinking it was a joke since I have seen countless people use the hose for free. But I was informed that the $5 fee per tire was serious. I paid the $10 for inflating my 2 tires and went back home to put the tire back on the car. When I got home I remembered that I had not paid for the air in the air tank so I called the garage up and asked them how much I owed for the air I put in my tank. I was told there wasn't a charge for the air I put in the tank, only for the air I put in my tires. I was never given a reason for this and since the air came from the same air compressor and the same air hose I would assume that it is just as rare and expensive as the air I had put in the tires. Had I known of the $5 per tire to inflate yourself fee I would have put the tires in the back of my truck and drove 1/2 mile to a convience store and for 50 cents in their machine I could have inflated them. I had been a customer of theirs for several years before this paying them to change my oil, brake jobs, inspection stickers, etc., but I will never use their services again. (FYI: The tires were flat on the car because it had been off the road for several years and the tires had leaked down. I was preparing the car to take to a restoration shop and was pumping up the tires up before the car hauler showed up)
