CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL PARIS - please stay away

I am so extremely pissed off at Crowne Plaza in Paris, it is hard to explain. I will tell you my story and let you make your own judgment:

I arrived at Crowne Plaza in Paris late at night without a reservation. The Hotel looked nice from the outside and I decided to see if they had availability. I inquired and they confirmed they did have availability at $528 per Night. I thought the Price was very high for this Hotel, as I had stayed at the Ritz Carlton for $250/Night in Berlin before coming to Paris, but given that it was late at night we decided to stay. We paid $528, and then asked the Reception Desk to provide someone to help with our Bags.

Their Answer: "You can take it up yourself". They were rude and extremely unhelpful.

Wow, how about that for a supposedly 5 Star Hotel? So, we dragged our 4 Large Bags up the Elevator, which we noticed was quite dirty and unkept. Then, when we arrived on our Floor, and immediately noticed that moldy smell you only notice at old and dirty hotels. Still, we thought perhaps the room would be better. Nope, not at all. The Room was worse. Not only was the room very old, with old and stained carpet and furniture, but the Bathroom had Mold all over the Shower Curtains and flooring, and the Room smelled worse than the Hallway did.

My Husband immediately refused to stay not only because of how dirty, old, and ugly the room was, but also because of health reasons: Stained, Old Carpet and Moldy Bathrooms are full of contagious bacteria and fungus which can cause all sorts of illnesses and infections, and at $528/Night, we were not willing to sleep in a trash can.

So, we went back downstairs and told them about the dirty and nasty room, and requested a refund so we could go find another hotel. Their answer: No Refund, sorry! They felt entitled to my $528 for looking at their nasty and dirty room for 5 minutes.

We left very angry and upset and ended up leaving Paris for good and driving straight to Barcelona.

THIS HOTEL IS TRASH CAN AND THE EMPLOYEES ARE THE RUDEST AND MOST UNHELPFUL I HAVE EVER SEEN - DO NOT STAY HERE AT ANY PRICE - EVEN IF YOU GET A SUPER DEAL AT $50/NIGHT, YOU ARE BETTER OFF STAYING AT AN IBIS OR SOMETHING SIMILAR FOR $75 THAN STAYING AT THIS TRASH CAN.

TERRIBLE HOTEL. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR NICE WEBSITE AND NICE FRONT ENTRANCE - THAT'S THE ONLY NICE THING THEY HAVE - I GUARANTEE IT.
