On 11/11/09 I purchased a package of JB Weld, I went home and was unale to use because the one of the JB weld tubes was dried out and it would come out of the tube. When I squezzed the tube it all came out of the back making a mess. I put back it it's package and decided to return it to Checkers for a replacement.
Then on 11/12/09 at 8:45 PM I went to the store and asked for the JB weld to be replaced or the money refunded to me since I was not able to use the product. Matthew was the person that was behind the counter, however his service was extremely poor. I literally interrogated for about 15 minutes while my wife and kid where sitting in my car waiting. He first said that without a receipt there is nothing that he could do. Then he asked me several questions: Who sold it to you? when did you buy it? describe the person that sold it to you, what did you try to use it on? did you clean the part before using jb weld? did you pierce the front of the tube? He was asking one questions after another until I got mad and said why all these questions, it doesn't matter I just need a JB weld replacement package or refund. He refused and said that without a receipt there was nothing that he could do. There was no need to play detective and ask me questions for 15 minutes just to replace a damaged product! His arrogant attitude and fake intention that he was interested in my concern really made me mad.
On 11/13 I called the store and Anthony answered, I requested to speak to a store manager and the reply was " there is none" and immediatelly I was hanged up on. I called right back asked for Anthony. I told him I was hanged up on and I needed to speak to a store manager and he said again there is no store manager at the moment. I asked for the manager name so I could call back and then ask for him and Anthony refused to give me a name. I then asked for a regional manager being that I was told there is no store manager, and he said all he could give me was an 800 number to Checkers.
You may ask, why all this over a $5.99 that I tried to return or replace? My main complaint is over the poor service by 2 employees at the store. Matthew clearly saw that JB weld tube was clogged and dried out (he even made a mess at the store counter). Anthony if he is in a supervisory position, he would have handled my called diferently.
