Genetic Defect and She refuses to Take Responsibility
I was really not wanting to go this route but, I have been left without any other choice as Nancy Sedlacek from www.successcsp.com or Success CSP sold my husband and I a dog with a bad leg defect. He has a bone fissure and my vet said he was born with it. I purchased this puppy as a Valentine's Gift for my husband and I found him on puppyfind.com. She had him posted for $800 and I fell in love with his face and all his wrinkles. I paid her in good faith for a healthy dog as promised but, once he arrived we noticed right away he was limping and his left front leg was turning in. I called Nancy right away to tell of what was going on with my puppy and she acted so surprised like she had no clue. I explained to her that I had a vet appointment later that day and I was taking him in to see exactly what was wrong. Much to my surprise after taking him to the vet I found out his bone was not formed correctly on his left elbow and she told me it was a bone fissure. She said it was a defect that he was born with. I asked her would this just have showed up now today and my advised me that the breeder had to have noticed this and better yet her vet when taking him to get his vaccines or health certificate. I went backed and looked at his photos closer and after really looking at them I noticed it in the photos where his front left leg did not look right. I think this is why she did not show his left side in photos only the right. I would have never looked before to see it because you think when you are buying a puppy from a show breeder that you will get a healthy puppy without problems. I know things happen and I am not upset about it as we love him just the way he is and I am willing to spend whatever I can to fix his leg but, we have to wait until he is older as this problem can cause his leg to stop growing. This means his right leg will be longer than his left. I took videos, gave Nancy my vets phone number and information because my vet wanted to speak with her but, she said I had to have done something to his leg. I explained to her that he came out of his crate limping. Then Nancy tried to claim the airlines must have dropped his crate or hurt his leg. It was one lie after another with her. Bottom line is that she is not wanting to do anything to help. I asked Nancy for a partial refund to go towards his expensive surgery as it will be thousands of dollars to repair his leg. I have videos, vet documentation and my vet information anyone has doubts of my complaint. She does not take responsibility for the dogs she is breeding and both of his parents are Champions. I am sure if she did this to us there are more out there because it seems to be some form of pattern with people like Nancy. Show breeder or not she sold us a dog with defect and will not take responsibility for her actions. I want other to know about my experience as all we wanted was a healthy puppy as my husband is a huge shar pei lover! I have attached photos below and you can see his left leg turning in the photos. Too bad I didnt see it earlier.
