I had my tires changed at my usual garage (NOT CT) and didn't have time to get the tires aligned. I figured, I'd get the alignment done at the Canadian Tire down the street, no big deal.
So on April 14th, I bring in my car for the alignment, no big deal right? HAH!
They call me 3 hours later to advise me they can't align the wheels, and I need $940.00 in repairs to fix the problem! They were claiming I needed to replace a whole lot of things that didn't make sense. My regular mechanic never said anything about it, and my regular mechanic is ridiculously thorough.
I told them not to touch anything, and brought my car back to my mechanic. He took a look, said that at the most I need to replace my shocks (something he had already mentioned, and even that could wait) Oh! and the BEST news ever! The guys at the Canadian Tire store left between 2-3 nuts on EACH WHEEL lose. He was able to remove them by hand!
So not only did this CT try to charge my 1000$ of unnecessary repairs, they actually put my life in danger when they put me back on the road.
And for those of you who would suggest my regular mechanic didn't put on the nuts properly... my regular mechanic is 1.5 hrs away, and I was driving my car for 1 week before going to CT for my alignment. I would have been in the ditch by now if they didn't tighten them.
On the upside, even if they put my life in danger by not putting the bolts in properly, I didn't get charged anything from CT for their investigation of my car.
