Rental car money grab
We returned to Cuba and rented a car for 2 days. The rental agent told us this was high season. All the hotel staff told us it wasnt. When we rented the car we were told it was cash only. She said the price was $180.00 When we returned the car and asked for a receipt we were told it would be sent to our hotel the next day. The receipt we got was a visa slip that was written out and signed by the rental agent, no visa number or anything that would identify this as a car rental or even that it was ours. We tried for 3 days to get a proper receipt and were finally told we could have a copy of the original but not an original. The paperwork we had with us in the rental car was written up as a total of $128.00 The photocopy was doctored to read $178.50 She told us there was no receipt for the customer yet on the bottom of the photocopy was the identification of who each page was for, one was a customer copy. Basicaly she ripped us off for over $50.00 and just pocketed the money. The rental agency is cubacar at the Brisas del caribe hotel, the rental agents name is Ivon Casas Diaz. On top of this we were also over charged at a liquer and cigar store by $35.00 The bank at the hotel Aquas Azule hotel also overcharged on a money exchange until my wife asked for a receipt. We have been to Cuba a couple of times now and are turned right off of this place. We wont come back here again. I would rather put up with the street vendors in mexico as they will not rip you off.
