Dangerous
I put boiling chicken broth into the blender, following the directions on how to handle hot liquids. I was holding the lid tightly on the blender. When I turned the machine on, the top of the blender blew off with incredible force. I have serious burns on both of my forearms and my chest. Luckily, the liquid did not get on my 7 month old infant who was sitting nearby in her high chair. VERY DANGEROUS!!!

Cuisinart gave me the run-around
The company gave me a run around just for a 1.5 Qt. saucepan lid that was missing from the kit that my husband bought for me on Christmas. We emailed them on the 29th of December as soon as we got back from our vacation and they just responded by email on the 19th of January telling us to call an 800 number. I called the number today and they gave me a number for Cuisinart and I was thrown back to them. I only wanted to get the missing lid and they will charge me 30 bucks for it when we already paid for it in the first place. They will replace the entire set but one of the skillet in that set burnt when we used it the first time. I also emailed Cuisinart about it and a lady called me and told me they will not replace it since it was my fault I burnt it. So after all the explanation I made and the numbers I called I ended up not getting my lid that we have already paid for. Had they responded right away, we could have kept the burnt skillet and returned it to them but it took them almost a month to respond. I will never buy a Cuisinart product again. It's expensive but not superior to any stainless I have used in the past. I just can't figure out why a big company like Cuisinart would be so unwilling to ship the customer a missing piece that's only 30 bucks. And why is it that the Cuisinart Webstore and Cuisinart itself can't talk among themselves for the sake of good customer service. Very disappointing.

Customer Service
I ordered a part from Cuisinart on a Sunday. 30 mins later I found out that I didn't need the part and cancelled the order. They shipped it anyhow and for a 1.59 part charged me about 7.00 for shipping. It was shipped on a Monday.
When I inquired why it had not been cancelled they said they don't take messages on Sunday. And there was nothing they could do, however, I could ship it back and they emailed me a packing slip. When I inquired about a refund for the shipping costs that I paid no-one would give me an answer, although I was very explicit, and sent 4 emails. Each person totally ignored my question about the refund. And if they could ship something that fast then I would expect them to be able to cancel the order. I find their customer service to be lacking as they seem to have their people trained not to respond to questions or to the customer. I finally gave up and will never do business with them again. I was a first time customer on their website and will be a last time customer. I find this kind of service unacceptable.

Bad service
Within a year of owning the Cuisinart coffeemaker DTC 975 series, I had it replaced once; the second pot malfunctioned within 2mos. Total cost of shipping on my part approx. $20. for each replacement. Told by Co. rep. out of thousands of coffeemakers there may be 50 defective. I of course received two of them. Why should I incur the extra expense of shipping for their defective product. I've decided not to chance another defective pot and absorb the loss. The original cost was $99.00. I've been using a 5yr old back up pot while waiting to resolve this issue; original cost $20.
