March 2/2009 I joined for the second time, the first time my contract expired and nothing happened it just ended, I did not rejoin and no money was stolen from my bank account. So I rejoined March 2/2009 and shortly after decided I could not go to the gym so I paid 46.20 monthly for a membership I was not using, so good for me for donating to the cause. I expected March 2/2010 that when the membership expired that would be that, instead I find out they are still taking money from my account. I am on my way to the bank to stop all future payments from going to them and trying to get april and may payments reversed. I have a 90 year old mother who has had two strokes that I am looking after and I don't have time to play these games. I spoke today to the NEW owner of the club, she was rude and uncaring, just kept saying you signed the contract, well I didn't sign a contract to be robbed. When the contract ends it ends, it is not a free pass to assume the person will continue, at this time you call the person and ask if they want to continue the contract. This works for my cell phone, my house insurance, car insurance etc, they don't just keep charging you without asking. I have faxed a letter to the rude owner demanding that my contract be cancelled as of March 2/2010, from her attitude I doubt that will happen. None the less, it is good that the head office knows what is going on with these people. I will never join curves again and will tell anyone I know to think very carefully before doing so.
