Great roofing company was falsely accused of not returning deposit
Customer Diane Farina of 5816 Australian Pine Dr., Tamarac, FL claimed her deposit was not returned. This is a blatant lie. It was returned 30 days after receipt. This is indisputable and verified by cleared check she received.

$1,000.00 deposit has not been returned
On June 16,2006, I entered in an agreement with Custom Roofing & Exteriors, 4100 Powerline Rd, U-4
Pompano Beach, Fla. 954-568-0694. I gave their representative, Tom Church, a check for $1,000.00 which was presented to my bank and cleared on 6/27/06. I sent a notarized letter to Custom Roofing on June 17 as requested by Mr Church. I waited 2 weeks and did not hear from them. I called to the city of Tamarac to find out if a permit was issued for the repair work. I was concerned because Mr Church said the work would be completed by August 1, 2006.
I then called Custom Roofing and spoke to Jennifer Mason and she said Tom Church was on vacation and left all of the paperwork in his truck. I finally spoke to Mr Church and he said Ms Mason did not know what was going on. It was later confirmed by Tim Morris that the paperwork was left in Mr. Church's truck. The job was to be completed within 6 weeks of 6/16/06 and the contract was not even sent in.
I could not understand why my check was cashed and why they did not question the notarized letter that was sent.
Mr Church said they could not complete the job by August 1,2006. He said that he would have to cancel the contract and my deposit of $1,000.00 would be returned. He said I had to send a letter of cancellation in order to receive the deposit. I asked to speak to Brett Allen Kappel, who is the owner. Mr Church said Mr Kappel did not want to speak to me. He was too busy. I did not want to cancel the contract and go thru all of the problems of estimates again.
I spoke to Tim Morris who also said I had to send a letter of cancellation in order for him to return my deposit of $1,000.00. I sent the letter the next day on 7/6/06. I called many times to find out why I did not get the deposit returned and no one would return my call. Today, July 19th, I again called and said I wanted my money back. Mr Tim Morris finally returned my call and started yelling at me and threaten me and said he was going to keep 15% of my money for all of his trouble. I asked him to lower his voice, but he kept on screaming at me. I thanked him for his call and hung up because I was too upset. When he asked for the letter of cancellation, he was very cordial. I am the one who now has to hire another contractor and wait again for estimates and hiring someone else. I am 72 years old and I have limited income. I cannot afford to have any money taken from me. I had to cash in stocks, at a loss to pay for my repairs.
I implore you to help me to have all of my money returned. I need this money to pay for the repairs. I appreciate any help you can give to me.
