CVS Caremark? You may wish to consider another pharmacy for your long term meds. If you have a condition like cancer, MS etc your meds should not be questioned it the doctor gives a script for a specific med it is to help condition or illness. CVS feels they have a rite to deny a med if its not on their list for treatment. Causing the patient who is relapsed or dealing with an attack to be delayed in the treatment referred by doctor. Patients with MS who have a congnitive brain attack some get relief from low dose ritilin or the generic brand. If the pharmacy has approved it for over 2-3 years in the past when patient needed it. The should not make the person who is ill jump through hoops to get it when they need it again. However, CVS is doing this to MS patients who have relapsed from MS or brain lesion. First they say no at pharmacy until patient gets authorization from doctor. Doctor jumps through hoops gets it in. Patient is still waiting no follow up they call to find out CVS refuses the authorization they asked for. Is not on their treatment list for patients who take the med only children and certain patients. I suggested the find out more about MS attacks the brain as well. If patient been on med for several years. Had previous pescriptions filled over several years with CVS no red tape fill it. Patients are being denied if doctor did not prescribe med previous year. Patient may not have needed it then. Now their is a need and they are making the relapse worse and forcing the patient to take old med from 2008 or older to help. The should be held accountable if condition gets worse.
