Charging tax on drugs but not showing it on receipt
In the state of LA there is no STATE tax on prescription drugs, but local municiplaties can charge a tax. The local tax in Pineville, LA is 5%. CVS adds the tax to your insurance co-pay where it does not show up on the receipt. When you ask why your co-pay is more than it should be, you are told that your insurance company tells them what to charge. Nothing is mentioned about tax being added to the co-pay. I feel this is an underhanded way of charging the tax without the consumer knowing they are being charged. I asked my insurance company why the co-pay was more than it should have been and they researched it and told me about the tax. When I called the Pineville CVS, the pharmacy manager first denied that the tax was being charged, then said she knew it was being charged and the computer program was supposed to be corrected where it was not charged, told me she would refund the tax charged; when I came tot he pharmacy requesting the refund, she called her district manager, and said I would have to go through him. Also, CVS charges tax on the TOTAL COST OF THE DRUG, not just the co-pay amount. This resulted in my paying $12 in tax on a $30 prescription co-pay. CVS says the insurance company should pay tax on their portion, but if they don't they just charge the consumer. I finally after a month was able to get a phone number for CVS Corporate. They said the district manager would arrange to refund the tax. He refused. When I reported this to CVS Corporate, he was forced to give me a CVS gift card in the amount of the refund. Other pharmacies in our area do not tax the drug if you have an insurance co-pay. I can only speculate that the pharmacists get a bonus based on the amount of drugs they sell, since the pharmacy manager kept saying "but that will come out of our money" if they had to give me a refund. Maybe if the companies would quit creating incentive programs that encourage their employees to short-change or rip off the consumer, maybe stuff like this would stop.

Money
A reload card was brought to the counter for $260.00 to be added to the card. The card was bought and once my husban got in the car I attempted to reload my card and realized that there was only 160 on the card. My husband then went in side and told the cashier, he check around the draw and the manager took the draw in the back to count it, WIthout The Cashier. She then came back and said the draw was fine. I spoke with there complaint customer service dept. and they had the head manager for that area investigate. He was very, very rude and basicly told me the tape was look at as far as the cashier and he didn't do anything suspcious, but they were not able to see the manager and verify to me that she did or did not take the 100.00. So in otherwise I am out of 100.00. I went to the atm before going to the store and it gave me 13 $20, I had them all together and folded in half. Where could it have gone. I've worked in businesses like this before and we've count the draw down right at the register or if it was in the back the cashier was with us, but never by ourself. The title manager does not delete you from stealing money. Ive seen managers arrested for stealing. So basicly they don't know if she did or did not take it and unfortunitly I have to suffer.

Money scam
I turned in photo cartridges to be processes and put onto a CD. When I received my product I found there was only about 20 photographs and I accepted this because the cartridges were old. What shocked me was the price: $35!. This was for 20 photographs and 3 CDs. Each CD cost $6. At the most the megabytes of the photos was only 60 mb. Why didn't they put all the photos on one CD? I was charged $18 for the CDs and $17 for the processing. This is a an unbelievable charge for only 20 photographs. I will never go to this CVS store again and will take my business to the Walgreens down the street.

Bad services
I have been a customer of CVS stores for many years now, have never had a complaint. In fact I was probably considered a “fan” of CVS.
Unfortunately, I am not so sure now. Today (A Sunday) I went to a local CVS in my neighborhood. (Store #3601; 11936 Foresthill Blvd, Wellington, FL 33414)
I went today to purchase a $170.00 money order. The CVS clerk ask me my State ID and then I asked 'why do you need my State ID, this is only $170?'
he replied 'If you complaint about this, you should not come to CVS, you have go to different store!' he was very rude and bad attitude. I was very very mad!!!
So I ask is this by law or by CVS rules... After review of money rules the only thing I find is if I was getting a money order for over $3, 000.00 State ID would be needed. If a person is giving you cash why the HECK do you need a ID?
CVS has very very bad service!

poor consumer service
Went there this morning - only one person on staff, 2 phone calls waiting, one customer in front of me with about 20 items in addition to what she wanted to pay for. I decided I would go back in the afternoon. Went back, 5 minutes til 5pm. Two persons in front of me, so I decided to get a couple of items in the pharmacy area. Went back at 3 minutes after 5pm. The staff at the register (there were now three staff member in the pharmacy at 5pm) said, "we close at 5". I replied, "you have got to be kidding me - I came back this afternoon b/c you were understaffed this morning, and I was here this afternoon not more than 5 minutes ago, went to get another item, and I come back just have you tell me that I am too late - unbelievable!" Response - "well, sorry - ". So, I went to the front cashier to pay for my son's breathing strips and told the cashier that this is the last time I would be coming here. She asked me if I had my extra-care card, to which I responded, "it really doesn't matter if I'm not coming back, does it?" To which she asked me what the matter was. I told her the aforementioned, and she says - "sorry". My question is this, why bother even asking me what the problem is, if you have absolutely no intention of dealing with it? I am a health care professional with many patients in this area. I may have really needed that medication, but no one asked me who I was and what I was trying to pick up. Bottom line - I will discourge all of my patients from coming to this CVS, as I am also a patient, and do not want other patients to walk away from a pharmacy feeling like it is just another retail outlet. It was obviously more important that they close out their tils, so they could leave, than to care for a patient - good bye CVS.

Pharmacy not having medications
On three different occassions I was told that the pharmacy did not have my prescription in stock. May 25 and June 25 CVS did not have my prescripton for Ovocon 50 (birth control pills) in stock, even through this prescription is on ready fill and has been at this pharmacy for over 1 year. Now today, July 1, I am told that they would have to order my prescription for Vyvanse which once again is a prescription that I get there every month for over a year. When complaining, the pharmacy manager said she could call other stores and of course I would have to go over and pick it up. Why should I be inconvened when its NOT my fault they screwed up. I don't want to hear excuses well I am new or I was on vacation. NO EXCUSE, do your job! If I don't do my job, I'll get fired. I have decided to bring my prescriptions back to Walgreens and do business there. I knew I should have stayed away from CVS when they gave me the wrong prescription many years ago after I was discharged from the hospital ER with a head injury.

Customer Service
This store ..# 2555.. Is AMAZING!! My complaint IS NOT against the employees or the store itself...actually my complaint is against the women (I have to say women because I have not seen any men do so) that completely clear the shelves and then try to use coupons in a wrong way AND they take up the line for hours on end. This particular CVS has really terrific management and employees, they are ALWAYS courteous and helpful and I hate to see them treated so poorly. Some of these women actually yell at them and call corporate headquarters with complaints about absolutely nothing.. well because THEY are not getting away with what ever scam they are trying to pull. They not only do this at our CVS, but they also do it at Walgreens, Rite-Aid and the closest Publix and any other store that does not bend their rules to accommodate them. It is sad that these women are so mean and rude and greedy and they feel they are OWED every last item on that shelf, but there are those of us out here that just want to save a few dollars for our family.. not rob manufacturers. I needed to say this because it is a HUGE issue in our town now...they even teach classes to behave in this manner :( sad.

unhuman
i am a cvs customer for years even before savon became cvs. In cvs i have seen the worst inhuman treatment for the workers. the managers in the wilshire store scream and harassment their employees verbally in front of their customers. i am asking as a humanitarian to please send Human Resource to investigate why managers are mistreating their employers like garbage.
stop calling them idiots, stop embarrassing them, stop the abuse.
