CVS Reviews

Worst customer service
We have a problem with CVS too. We neede the prescription and we were supposed to pick it up on Wednesday aroung 21 p.m. but it is Thursday 9:oo p.m. and after repeated calls and a visit to the CVS, we are unable to get our prescription. Any time we call CVS, we get the response that the doctor has not called in for the prescription. We spoke to doctor 4 times and they told us that they have already ordered the prescription. When we talked to the pharmacy, they were very rude about it.
I don't know in this competitive world, how CVS can grow and survive with this kind of pure customer service. CVS should take dramatic steps and improve their customer service and their equipments.

Did not disclose no refund/exchange
I purchased a Verizon "pay by use" phone and the CVS clerk recommended I purchase phone minutes for it so I puchased a $50 phone card. As this was a present for my 80 year old uncle, when I returned home and read the instructions, I felt this phone would be to complicated for him to use, so the same day I returned the phone but was told the $50 phone card I purchased with it was not refundable or exchangeable. I was not told that by the cashier clerk at the time of purchase. I strongly feel that the cashier clerk should have let me know at the time of purchase that there would be no refund if I wanted to return the item.

Coupon Issues
I get a weekly penny saver circular and CVS always has FANTASTIC advertised prices & sales. I use my customer loyalty card, I clip coupons, I do the extra work it takes to get the most bang for my buck AND I like to spend my money between CVS & Duane Reade.

However, my local CVS has been really frustrating lately. The frequently won't honor print and in-store advertised sales and promotions, and on several occasions have outright LIED to me about the coupon I'm using.

For example, this past weekend I was in the store to buy some groceries on a really good sale. When I finally to the register, the girl was in a hurry (store understaffed as usual) so she started ringing my stuff up at lightening speed, crushed my bread, and forgot to ask me for my card (which I was trying to dig out in time). I mentioned my card and also a $5 of $20 coupon.

Well, the CVS card she snatched away from me to scan, and then proceeded to total me out. I'm still locating my coupon (big purse, long day). I show her my coupon and she snarkily tells me its expired and I can't use it, and she can't do it at the end of a transaction. A little confused, and becoming aware of a line growing behind me, I just swiped my debit and took my leave.

Folks, I work 2 jobs: one early shift, one evening shift. I'm lucky if I know my name let alone the date. So when I got home and looked at the calendar, imagine my surprise when I learned that not only was my coupon not expired, it had 5 more days left until it actually did!

I marched down there and asked her about it, and brought forward some other coupons as well which I wasn't able to the time to take advantage of previously. After some back-and-forth, got a price adjustment worth $15 in cash. She basically admitted to me she didn't feel like applying a coupon to my order because it would have involved some back-tracking.

*sigh* Maybe just never go in on busy days to take advantage of sales? I just don't know anymore. I've worked in retail and customer service and I never treated anyone like this EVEN if I wanted to on a busy, low-staffed, early morning shift with a disorganized penny-saver on the other side of the counter.

Overcharge for medication
My mom uses CVS. Her doctor wrote her a prescription for lets say 50 mg instead of 25 mg and told my mom to cut them in half to save her some money as she is on a fixed income and the medicine is expensive. The pharmacy charged her double because my mom was breaking them in half as per the instructions on the bottle. Isn't this against the law??? I wonder what the pharmacist would do if they went to a restaurant and ordered a meal and took half of it home for the next day and they got charged double??? Hmmmm food for thought. Every time my mom goes to CVS it is a round. It is always something. The pharmacists and techs are always b*tchy. No other way to put it. I will never use CVS Pharmacy

DON'T GO TO STORE#5250
AS A VERY WEALTHY AND FASHIONABLE WOMAN I WEAR BIG PURSES. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT BIG PURSES ARE IN STYLE...IN STORE #5250 ARI GONZALEZ FOLLOWED ME TO EVERY SINGLE AISLE LOOKING AT ME AND MY PURSE CONSTANTLY. I WAS SO DISTURBED BY HER LOOKS THAT I JUST PUT ALL THE ITEMS DOWN AND WALKED OUT AND DROVE ACROSS THE STREET TO FAMILY DOLLAR TO GRAB THE SAME EXACT ITEMS...I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER BEEN TREATED THAT WAY. AND THEN AS I WAS WALKING OUT SHE SAID "WHEN YOU WATCH THESE WOMEN WITH BIG PURSES THEY GET INTIMIDATED AND THEY PUT THE THINGS DOWN AND LEAVE THE STORE BECAUSE THEY KNOW WE'RE WATCHING"...I COULDN'T BELIEVE SHE SAID THAT. I MAKE AT LEAST 5 TIMES MORE THAN SHE WOULD EVER MAKE YEARLY AT THAT JOB. SO WHAT REASON WOULD I HAVE TO STEAL SHAMPOO AND ETC?...THAT WAS SOOOOOO UNCALLED FOR!

I WOULDN'T DARRRRRRREEEEEE STEP FOOT BACK IN CVS!...I WOULDN'T SUPPORT THEM IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT...I WAS THINKING ABOUT GETTING A SMALL CAMERA TO HIDE IN MY CLOTHING AND EXPOSE THE WAY THAT ARI GONZALES OPERATES IN STORE #5250...I AM STRONGLY LOOKING INTO THAT!

Disclosing personal information
Hello,

I am not one to complain, I'm concerned.

Seems that everytime I come in to pick up a percription I have to tell the pharmacy tech, my name, address, and the percription name I am picking up. Seems like a great deal of personal information I have to almost yell to the employee. I personally find it very uncomforatble that I have to disclose this personal information for at every other customer to hear, and me there information.

I realize that you have to verify who is picking up, and make sure the correct person gets the right meds, but does the world or at least the 6 other people in the area have to hear my personal medications, and information?

I also want to voice a safety issue, when I disclose my address who is to say that another customer wants to follow me home, or any other women home for the meds that were just picked up, or for other criminal reasons [rape, robbery].

Thank you, Ellen Fox Belchertown, MA

Double Charge of my Credit Card
DON'T EVER PLACE AN ONLINE ORDER WITH CVS!!! I placed an online order on 9/24/2009 and when I checked my
bank account the next day they had charged me twice for my order.
They said they would put through a credit but that I would have
to wait for my bank to let the charges drop off.
They made the mistake and I am paying for it. In this economy money is hard to come by and I can't afford to have my money sitting in limbo... Don't ever place an online order with CVS!!!

Scam charges
I received checks from cvs that i was led to believe were back checks from a lawsuit that they had not paid their employees for their breaks. i deposited them to my bank and now i have no money in my account and my bank is charging me regardless of this not being my fault.

Neglect of customer
I ordered my prescription medication for pick-up over the phone. They said it would be ready in one hour. I waited longer than the time they told me to pick it up in case they needed a few more minutes. When I got there, the pharmacy had me wait 30 minuts longer! I patiently waited. When I finally went up to the counter to pay for my prescription, I explained to them that I didn't have insurance but I had a coupon from their website that stated I can pay $9.99 for my prescription for 90 days. The pharmicist wasn't familiar with the coupon but tried to help me anyway. As she was helping me, from a different location than where she'd been originally, the line that she was cashiering (the prescription pick up) was growing longer and longer. She briefly asked another pharmacist behind her to help process my transaction while she tended to her growing line. She tried to give her my medication in the midst of asking her to help me, I briefly saw my medication exchange from one person's hand to the other, then disappear.Well, that pharmicist was extremely busy but didn't feel the need to tell me this and proceeded to help another customer instead. All the while I'm standing there for 15 minutes wondering when someone was going to come back to me and help me. Finally another pharmicist who'd just came in on her shift asked me if I'd been helped as she saw me standing there looking confused, I explained to her what I needed and she told me to stand in yet another line, which was the prescription drop off line, as that pharmacist would be able to better assist me there. She mildly scolded the original pharmicist to give me better customer service to actually tell me what to do. When I got to the front of the drop off line, that pharmicist told me to go back to the original pharmicist who'd helped me in the beginning because she couldn't find my prescription. When I got back to the front of the customer pick up line, she'd forgotten that I wanted to use my coupon and at this point, being exhausted from being bounced from place to place, so did I; I had to pay full price and left, confused, exhausted and frustrated. That had to be the worst customer service I'd ever experienced. I will never to back to that CVS again. I am in the process of transferring my prescription to another CVS.

Customer Service
I have been a customer of CVS since it took over the SavOn store in Manhattan Beach. Yesterday I called in refills in the morning requesting a 4:00p.m. pickup. When I arrived at the pharmacy at 5:15p.m. I was surprised to see that the pharmacy area had been completely redone to the point that it looked like a completely different store. There was only 1 face among the approximately 10 employees that I recognized. My prescriptions were not ready, so I had to wait an additional 20 minutes. When I asked about the delay I was told "we are running a little behind". There was no apology, nothing. When I asked if there were a store manager I could talk to I was told that I would have to call their 800 number. I have decided to transfer my prescriptions to a small local pharmacy closer to where I work on the advice of a co-worker who does business there. In the business world, CVS just failed!
