Poor customer service
I have been a regular at this store on 3rd and Fairfax and time and again I am amazed at how bad customer service is at this store. Through the many years I have been shopping at this store there have been numerous managers coming and going - none could make any difference whatsoever. The employees (at least most of them) seem to hate the customers and they all look like they'd rather be some place else, but at work doing their job. Most of them walk around at a snail's pace and try to pass you on to the next person God forbid you have an question or request. Today I had an encounter with a new manager named Martha, whom I had never seen there before. She was most unhelpful and condescending. I wanted to buy a carton of Marlborough Gold 100's, but they were out of it, as usual. They have known for years that this is one brand of cigarettes that sells the most, yet they never order enough to last until the next shipment. The last manager blamed the corporate office for the occurance saying they only get so much per store and cannot get more, but at least had the flexibility to find ten packs of the same brand to make up for a carton. This new manager - Martha - said no way possible, I have to sell you the cigarettes by the pack, because I do not have a full carton - even though I told her I would take a couple of packs of the short ones. She had no business sense whatsoever, and was unwilling and unresourceful to help. I stormed out of the store swearing I'll never come back, but I still cannot get over the fact that CVS keeps hiring these horrible people to manage their stores time and again. No wonder the employees are lacking any kind of enthusiasm or drive for better customer service. With this kind of example in their face how can anyone expect better? Until CVS changes their management, they surely cannot expect any improvement in their famously bad customer service and the long list of endless complaints. My advice to CVS is to hire better managers and start showing some appreciation towards the existing employees who demonstrate their abilities in customer satisfaction. Stop hiring managers fresh out of hight school, because they don't have a clue how to service people much less how to relate to any customer issues. Pay the big bucks to deserving people and not to those who obviously hate the customers shopping in your stores.
On the last note, please take notice of the inability to resolve a simple issue demonstrated by your new store manager named Martha. She needs to find another job - accountant maybe? Certainly not anywhere where she needs to deal with real people and real issues, however simple they may be.

Humiliation
I was in a long checkout line with many people behind me. When it was my turn to pay I submitted a $20 bill to the cashier/clerk. She held it up in the light and examined it for a full minute. Then she told me in a loud voice, "This bill is counterfeit." I was very embarrased as people behind me suddenly viewed me as a criminal. She called the assistant manager and he deemed the bill valid after examining it. I told the clerk she better be damned sure she is right next time she accuses someone. She simply started talking to the next person and ignored me. Obviously the store has poor management.

Coupon FAIL
Denville NJ CVS manager would not take my $2.00 off coupon for CeraVe cream although the coupon clearly states that CVS is an accepted store. The manager was not too pleasant and gave me the impression it was my fault he did not know how to handle this coupon that clearly states there is not expiration date. I felt disinclined to buy anything there so I just left without the CeraVe that I really needed. The dermatologist charges $20.00 a jar. CVS was close to $19.00 so the $2 bucks off made is worth my while IF I could get it there.

I expect to be compensated for the travel there and annoyance factor. It would not have hurt the manager to be more helpful and or apologetic.

Rude service and incorrect billing
I have used CVS store # 4285 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg VA 434 239-0311 for many many years and have rarely used another pharmacy. I placed a call today to make sure my rx had been received by e-scribe and also it was hand faxed. The person I spoke with was very rude as usual, Mostly all of the pharmacist in this store are RUDE especially Cindy McIneer she is an awful pharmacist!! very rude and a smart *ss and arogant, I cant wait until someone treats her or someone in her family the way she treats people. Cassie Mason is also rude, unhelpful, impatient, and has a very rude and nasty tone with her voice. Also I had an incident where I had insurance through Coventry then switched insurance carriers to Peidmont Community Health plan.My new insurance information was given to the pharmacy staff to load into the computer and to let them know I no longer was covered under Coventry anymore. One of the workers there continued to bill the Coventry insurance and before I knew it, I was sent to collections by Coventry for $180.00 because who ever was putting the prescription in was using the incorrect information with billing and DUH the wrong insurance carrier.I called the store immediatly to find out what was going on and of course I spoke with rude ole' Cassie Mason she was rude acting as if it was not her/their fault which it clearly was a CVS mistake. She continued to tell me she would get back to me, and she would contact the cooperate office and they would get back with me, which never happened. Never did anything to find out why your store continued to bill Coventry. I called CVS and no-one could figure it out meanwhile I'm in collections for CVS's incorrect billing and not paying attention. I also called my new insurance which was PCHP- they explained they were never billed for the scripts that were in question. I placed another call to cvs spoke with rude ole Cassie again and she stated there was nothing she could do and everything on their end was correct. I faxed all my information to cvs and to PCHP because I noticed that the codes were different on some of the rx's, So I spoke with Coventry and they also confirmed that cvs was still billing them for prescriptions and they were paying for them but I was no longer covered by them. I had to pay $180 to get out of collections and waitied 3 months for PCHP to re-inburse me for someone else's carelessness. I never have a good experience when visiting cvs, I never shop at your store I shop at Walgreens I will probably have all of my prescriptions moved to Walgreens where I get treated wonderfully. I would like to say that Larry Kaus was very helpful when I called to ask him if I could take a medication along with another one that I wasnt sure of. Thanks Larry.. also Walk Chong was very helpful when I had another question with my prescription he was great but did have a deep accent and hard to understand but we managed and He gave me very helpful information regarding my prescriptions. Again your pharmacy staff and pharmacist are inconsiderate, rude, and incompetent in the billing area! If you continue to let these staff members speak to your customers the way they do your store will not have many more customers, word of mouth with complaints sure get out a hell of alot quicker than a good compliment, I would never recommend your store # 4285 to anyone. However there is one chinese or maybe Asian little guy that works the drive threw window he is so wonderful, helpful, and has a remarkable personality, and also its a very pleasant black lady kind of short that walks with a small limp, she is also amazing I love when either of them come to the window.

inadequate service
Just to give an example of what I go thru, I'll start with the most recent episode. I just had surgery, so last night my mother helped me out and put in a prescription for my grandson. It said it needed dr's approval. So she asked if there as a new on on hold... they said no. So I called and told them to look again... there was. But, there were not pills available for an entire fill, I would have to wait two days. I asked why more weren't reordered by the clerk that used the last of them. They didn't know. So I told them I would pick up the other one this morning. It wasn't filled. So I had to demand that it be filled, I wasn't coming back in an hour. So they asked if I would ride around the building. I did. I've road around that building 30 - 35 times in the past two years. Every month I sweat when I have to go there. Nothing is ever done correct... it takes 4-5 phone calls and a demand when I get there. Horrible experiences!

Store Safety
Since my arrival to California I have been a loyal customer of this store. Unfortunately I have been very disappointed with the lack of care management has for their own employee and loyal customers. It has been two times that I have felt my life in danger while being in this store. Today 05/21/2011, will be the last time I enter this store. It has been surprising to me that the employees in this store either do not bring this up to the attention of management, or management does not listen to their clamor. On 05/21/2011 there was a shooting that occurred in front of the CVS pharmacy. Just seconds before the victim of the shooting was killed, he entered the store asking the employees for help. Unfortunately without proper training it seemed that they were more inclined to make that person go away because of seeming lack of training. The employees are obviously not to blame since they are sales representative and not security guards. Until CVS hires a capable security guard, i will continue to post this in as many sites as possible to warn future or existing customers. Today it was that gentleman but tomorrow it can be a store employee or a customer.

ready fill program
i've been going to cvs for years now, just recently they say my insurance won't allow the ready fill program. so i decided to call my insurance company and low and behold they have nothing to do with cvs ready fill program, it's just a courtesy for their customers. so apparently the people who work for cvs blatantly lie to their customers. well they can say good bye to this customer as i have transfered my 15 prescriptions to rite aid maybe they'll appreciate my business and the money from the insurance and also the numerous relatives and friends i've talked to who will be switching pharmacies.
