CVS Pharmacy Reviews

Long wait to drop off RX
I have gone here twice to drop off my sister's prescriptions. I waited over 25 minutes behind one customer and then the clerk took a phone customer before she took me. They need to have 2 people at all times just to drop off a RX. What is wrong with this
management who doesn't hire enough staff????
I would never use this pharmacy for myself and they need to have a competiter closer.

Service is SLOOOWWW!!!!
I thought it more convenient to transfer my prescriptions from Target to CVS since they have drive thru and I have both hips replaced. However, I dropped off my written scripts around 4pm. I was told they would be busy and could I come back at 8pm. They would be ready!! Lol!!
They were in computer but no time to fill. Lol!!! Would I come in store and wait another 20-30 mins. I believe it is a scam to get you in store to spend more money. In the meantime, I needed my mess and antibiotics for my daughter's strepthroat. Mgr needs to addess his pharmacy turnaround times. Brain storming is a start and flow charts to see where the holdups are occurring ASAP.
Dissatisfied Customer from Porterville. I hear the other two CVS's are just as bad!!!

Poor Service
My complaint concerns the pharmacy. I have been getting my prescriptions for pain medications filled at this CVS for 8 years now. And for the the last 2 years I have been getting only what I can call harassment from 1 female pharmacist there. At this point I will leave her name out of this, though I can bet that the other employees in the pharmacy will know immediately who I am speaking of. Since almost all of my scripts are for C-2 drugs, the pharmacists must ensure that they comply with all state regulations concerning the filling of these scripts. I understand this especially since both my daughter & son-in-law are both registered pharmacists in NY. My problem here is this...I bring my scripts in to be filled right at the 48 hour mark before I run out of meds. I do this because my scripts are for large amounts of C2 medications and just in case they do not have enough in stock to fill it, they still have a day to order it and get it in before I run out of meds. I understand that the pharmacist can fill the script up to 7 days prior to the 30 day mark (when I will run out of meds). Though I have never asked them to do this for me, the one female pharmacist there, if she gets my script, it does not seem to matter to her if it's the 29th day or the 28th day since the last time the script was filled, she will put the script aside with the note..."too early to fill". When I come to pick it up I have to speak to the pharmacy manager who fills it immediately for me. Everyone in this pharmacy treats me wonderfully. I am always greeted with "hello Mr Charbonneau, how are you today" or some other respectful greeting from the other pharmacists, pharmacist technicians right down to the other pharmacy personnel. Everyone of them has always gone out of their way to help me. They all know I am 100 % disabled and it is very difficult for me to have to walk into the pharmacy. It is too difficult for me to get my electric wheelchair out of the van just to go inside to the pharmacy counter. I finally decided to write to someone at CVS because it is getting much too difficult and PAINFUL to have to keep coming inside to get my scripts straightened out. I beleive this problem I keep having with this one pharmacist stems from a compound prescription for my granddaughter that I was getting refilled. At this time the CVS store here in Latham NY was a "24 hour" CVS. I always took my scripts in to be filled after midnight as I was usually awake and it was so much easier to fill them at that time, plus I also got to know the night shift pharmacists. When my granddaughter was born, she was a "special needs baby" and required one of her medications to be a compound of Prevacid so it could be administered through her feeding tube. Knowing that this particular prescription should be done at a "compounding pharmacy", I asked one of the night pharamacists, (Jerry Solomon) if he could compound it for me. It was a simple compound requiring some 15 to 20 minutes of his time. He told me he could do it usually after 2AM . It always worked out great until the store changed from a 24 hour store to an 18 hour store. So while my daughter was working out getting the script filled at different pharmacy that was able to compound scripts I asked the day pharmacist at this CVS if they could make just one more compound for me. After all, I was a regular customer. The young lady said okay, but it would take her a while to make it up. That was fine with me and I was grateful. But when I picked it up I immediately noticed that there was too much medication here. It should have been a 4 ounce bottle but what I received was a 12 ounce bottle and I could tell by the color that the mix was inccorrect. When I informed the pharmacist of this she acted as if I had insulted her and questioned her professional competence. She grabbed the bag with the bottle in it and said she would do the compound again but it would take at least 6 to 8 hours. I needed the medication right now for the baby as we did not have another dose left for her. But the pharmacist acted as if I put her professional compentcy into question, which I certainly did not do. I simply asked her to check this compound again because it did not seem to be the same as the last one (the volumn was twice as much). She ended up giving it to another pharmacist to fill and that took another 4 hours. I knew that they were not a 24 hour pharmacy anymore and that they did not have the personnel or the time to do compounding. I just asked if they could do it one more time and that we were making arrangements to have another compounding pharmacy do it (Price Shopper as a matter of fact). Well, ever since that incident I have had nothing but grief whenever I present a script to be filled when she is there. I am writing now because it happened again today with a script that was right on time to be filled, but she said it was too early to be filled. Once again I hobbled into the pharmacy, spoke with the pharmacy manager who said "there is no problem Mr Charbonneau" and had it filled in 10 minutes.

Could someone speak with this pharmacist about what has happened to me. I cannot be the only one she has been giving a hard time to. I must also say that the rest of the pharmacy staff are first rate people who obviously like their job and get a great deal of satisfaction out of helping people with their medications.

Thank you and I just hope that someone actually reads this and talks to me about it.

Poor customer service
I have only used CVS for presctiptions once before and now will never be back. My mother who is 90 years old has a lot of prescriptions. I have an AARP and Medicare card that has always been excepted at all other drugstores including Publix and Target. First they told me I had the wrong cards for her then when I returned with her cards they said they still were not right but could look them up. If they could look them up why did they not do that in the first place instead of making me run home. When I told them I have filled prescription for her many times using these cards they then told me well someone probably had to look up the information and just did not mention it. Hello is this not customer service? They are rude, snippy and condescending.

Rude and Shortstaffed
I have been a consistant customer at this specific cvs pharmacy for years now, and in the past year, I have to say that the store no longer seems to be te same as it used to be. I go in almost every day to get my needed products, and I feel like I wait for hours before I get attended. There is always one single person on the register. This lady cashier is about the only nicer person there. She always treats customers with respct, and works alone on the register. As i stand in line to be ringed up, I hear this lady call multiple times for assistance and no one goes to help. Its almost as is she were there alone. when someone does respond after the 5th or 6th time, this other lady comes up and yells at her in front of all the customers and on top of that she releases her anger out on the customers as well. One time, as i stood in line, I saw with my own eyes that this rude lady was cleaning at at isle close by, and when the other lady called for help, the lady didnt even turn to look. I realized she had earphones on and let me tell you, they were loud because i can hear the rock genre music all the way to where i was in line. I mean if you do not like to help customers or be friendly, then why are you in retail in the first place. i feel it is a big disrespect to us the customers, and to thie nice cashier that they have someone as rude as her working at the store, nonethe less as a supervisor. Management needs to do something about it because, my friends family and I have decided to drive ten extra minutes to go to another store rather than t0 return there and be disrespected, and kept waiting for a long time. I am a very upset customer and i think it is a shame because this is a good store to go to.

unprofessional lead technician
On Monday April 25th 2011 I went into the cvs store 6045 to fill a prescription for my surgery the next day. As the young girl behind the counter April, was checking all my information i got a phone call. Now the lady next to April's cubicle Irene Sutton(lead tech) very rudely turned to me and said you need to get off the phone or move over there, pointing to the front of the store. I was in shock then she proceeded to say your voice is so loud i cant hear myself think. I mean this is a person that is suppose to help people she was the most unprofessional and rude person i have ever met. You do not talk to a customer like that. How could you have a person work for you like that? it makes your whole pharmacy look bad she is the lead technician. When i asked Irene for her name because i said you cannot speak to a customer like that she then screamed to me "make sure you spell it right. " I mean how do you have someone working for you like that just a rude person. When I went to the manager for a number to call on this rude tech she told me that I was not the first complaint today about her. She had two complaints in one day. Why would you keep someone around like that.I have always filled my prescriptions at this cvs but I will not fill them there anymore if that lady is whats running that pharmacy.

Too many chiefs, not enough indians
As loyal customers since the beginning of the Kosciusko, Ms. store, we are considering changing to another pharmacy.

Our prescriptions are often filled improperly, or not ready as promised, even when called in more than 24 hours before, although most days there are four or five people standing behind the counter chatting. We have had to call their attention to mistakes several times, and that problem is becoming a regular habit there.

It is so bad that people are talking about it in the grocery stores, churches, and other public places, as well as at home. When someone complains to their face they say they are changing computer systems, or have some other flimsy excuse, but still they stand around as if they do not care about the customers. People are leaving faster than the Titanic!

INCOMPENTENT EMPLOYEES !
Found a $25 discount coupon for Diovan 160mg online. Took it to CVS on 4/9/11 and asked to use it with my next refill. CVS promised to check it out and call me with info on whether it could be used. Never called ! When I called on Sunday I was told I needed a 30 prescription instead of 15 day (written in error by the nurse). So 4/11/11 I called the drs. to get a new prescription called in to CVS. The nurse called me at 3pm to say she'd called it in. Then I called CVS to make sure they "married" the new prescription w/the coupon to save me $$ on my copay. When I went to pick it up, they told me it wasn't ready and it would be "a couple of minutes." I waited 30 mins. and finally told the girl to call me when it was ready. 2 hrs. later (and NO phone call) I called them and was told it was ready. When I picked it up, they had filled the 15 day (wrong) prescription and gave me serious attitude about filling the right one and using the coupon. The mgr. was in the pharmacy and after all that ruckus, NEVER turned around to offer help . I was so upset, I finally said, I'll pay the $60 co-pay, just give me the meds. and I promise I will transfer ALL my meds. to another pharmacy at once. The clerk(Veronica) was very smug and rude as was another clerk standing nearby and wasn't even involved. Altho I know my business will not break their bank, word of mouth of rude, incompetent employees will definitely hurt their business. I have cut up my CVS card and will NEVER set foot in that store again !

Is this thee kind of Employees CVS hires & do they even care how there Employees treat thee Customers.

Hour cuts
The hour cuts at cvs have gotten ridiculous.
First my store went from being 24 hours to being an 8am-10pm store. We lost two of our best employees, because we had to cut hours. Me and two other employees now have to work at two different stores to get our hours so we can survive. Then just this past week our DM tells us we have to cut hours again because a few stores went over on payroll hours, and we have to pay them back. So now we not only have to suffer for other ppls mistakes, but slot of us now have to decide if we want to pay rent or keep our insurance. In one case a fellow employee was told she wasn't full time anymore and they are now going to lose their benefits. All of our stores are looking horrible because no one has time to do anything about it, alot of stores are behind on planograms, once again no time to do those. Everyone is at eachothers throats now because we are all stressed out. All the while our bosses and their bosses are riding our asses. Customer service and morale has gone way down. Don't get me wrong, most of our customers are very good, honest people, it's the stress that just turns us into rude uncaring assholes. On that note I would like to apologize to everyone who has dealt with a rude employee at cvs, this is one of the major factors. I used to love this job but, now I just hate it, and with the job market the way it is I don't really have anywhere to go. So a word to the wise, don't work here. Cvs doesn't care about it's employees, it only cares about it's profits and their bonus pool, if that means cutting hours and forcing employees onto the streets, so be it.
