Unprofessional employee and manager
This is what I wrote the CVS feedback online:
Location: 5910 Greenbelt Rd. Greenbelt, MD 20770, Store #2016.

I would like to file a complaint on your cashier as well as your working manager (Marc BiTewLin?) on March 11, 2011 6:37pm.

Your cashier let her two of her female friends harassed me (calling me bitch and other fowl languages) while I was standing in line.

The problem is I don't even know them and wasn't even talking with them (or notice them) while I was standing in line for approx. 5 minutes, when I finally get to the register, two black females friends of the cashier rush into my left side pushed my items off the counter and on to the floor (replaced with their own groceries), while the black female cashier laughed with two of her female friends that pushed my items aside (all the while calling me bitch, throwing a piece of paper at me and talking among themselves but staring and pointing at me the same time thinking that I can't heard or understand their gangster language).

While the cashier was ringing up the register for her friends' groceries (with my items on the floor!!!). I asked them nicely that "I was the person that was in front of the line, and my items are now on the floor, so please pick them up or apologise", the two black female friends of the cashier instead both ganged on me and telling to my face with lips that is 1-inch away from my face, "or what, what you gonna do, do you want to get beat up or what! bitch, you fucking bitch etc etc etc...!"

When the store manager Marc (lastname: BiTewLin?) came out he didn't ask for any reason but drag me aside thinking I was the one who caused trouble (this is my first time visiting geenbelt's CVS & I all want was to purchase medicine and leave), the manager instead of telling off the girls, drag me aside and told me to leave or get out (couldn't remember which)!!

I would have left if I wasn't in a hurry to buy my medicine, after paying in the back cash register that manager drags me to (with Marc stand and eyeing me)! Making me look like a criminal or trouble maker! I left with Marc seeing me out of the store.

This happens at March 11, 2011 at 6:30PM if you are of someone of authority in CVS, you NEED TO VIEW THAT VIDEO FOOTAGE, I certainly was not the person that done anything while waiting in line, I didn't even say a word and all this caused me great stress, humiliation and pain! I was the victim in this case while your manager and the cashier along with her friends are same perpetrators

I WILL FILE LAW SUIT IF THIS ISN'T RESOLVE TO A SATISFACTION! I still keep the receipt on the day# 2502.0161.0709.5141.33

Prescriptions
Every time I go for my husband's prescriptions they never have them right or ready to go. Have to tell them what prescriptions he needs. He is a diabetic last time I got his needles they did not give me the right amount. Insulin he gets two kinds and I only get one. Suppose to be on Auto-Refill but guess not or you have to tell them all the time. My husband is also a Cancer patient besides and I myself have health issues. Thought these go by 30 day's to be refilled ??? Are we the people the only ones with this problem ??? If so, maybe we should take are business somewhere else. Thank you so much and you all have a nice day. Mary Polmatier.

Return Policy
On christmas eve I purchased 2 Sylvania notebook from this CVS.I stopped in on Dec.27 and asked for the manager.I spoke with Susan who said she was the manager.I explained to her I misplaced my original receipt and could the store use my statement from my bank as proof of purchase because I used my card as credit she said I could.Because she was the one I originally spoke to I asked her when she would be in. She says at 3 the next day.The next day I go to my bank was told the statement would cost me $5.00the teller checked to make sure the charge was on the statement before I left and was charged by them.I go back to CVS Susan looks at my statement sees the charge tells me that particular store number IS reflected on my statement but she looked in the office and they can not find the charge in their system. At this point all I want is a copy of the receipt. My sister and neighbor each took 1 of the notebooks off my hands but I wanted a copy of the receipt in case one of them needed.I gave her the date and time when I was in the store I also used my CVS card and she still tells me they can not find the transaction in the system even though I have PROOF with my statement from my bank with the amount and store info. I say to her I know stores do give receipt in case one is lost because I work for the local school system and the school bookkeeper always tell us if we purchase something for the school and lose the receipt to go back to the store and get a copy before submitting invoices to her so I know it is done. I asked Susan could she use the cameras as proof that I was in the store or my CVS card number to find it in the system.I said well it posted to my account 2 days later could she please look there she says no that it would have posted on that day.I will inform my school not to patronize CVS to purchase supplies for the staff or students because of BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Let's not forget that it was Susan in the first place who told me the day before that I could use my statement

Hour Cuts
CVS is now cutting hours come Dec 26th, into 2011.

Original CVS had scare hours, with one manager and one cashier to cover the day, and a little extra for deliver days, this skeleton crew will now be cut down to inoperable levels.

Store managers will be working 50-60 hour weeks and still: 6-8 hours a day the entire front store will be run by a single person. Cashiers will only be available during peak periods for maybe 9 hours of the work day.

This is an unbelievable slap in the face to its employees, there will be nation wide lay offs since we don't have the hours to keep the current staff at most stores and I'm terrified to see how stores and customer service fall apart entering 2011.

egregious treatment by manager
Today I went to CVS and used the restroom while I was there. Apparently, there was a sign on the door that said "out of order", but I did not see it. The sign was posted only 3 feet above the ground on the door and I am over 6 feet tall. The restroom was not out of order, however.

When I came out, a CVS employee and manager were waiting for me ready to pounce like a lion on its prey. They immediately began verbally attacking me, telling me to "get the fuck out" of the store. I told them that I had just used the restroom and asked what the problem was. The manager told me that I have "mental problems" and that I have "the mental capacity of a 10 year old". Not wanting a confrontation, I began walking swiftly out of the store. The employee and manager chased me, yelling profanities at me. They chased me right out the door into the parking lot and continued to insult me outside.

I called the store after I left and spoke with the manager who's name was Carolyn. I explained to her that I had used the restroom and that I did not know that it was out of order. She interrupted me and told me to "go shop somewhere else". She refused to let me speak, and told me that if I had a problem with her to call their corporate office at 1-800-shop-cvs. Then she hung up on me.

You bet I called their corporate office. I have never been treated by a store employee like that before in my whole life. What egregious and unprofessional treatment! Now I'm waiting for a call from their regional manager to explain what happened. I think that the manager Carolyn should start looking for a new job because I doubt that her regional manager will want to keep her on staff after he hears about the way that she treats customers.

Employee Disrespect
CVS/Pharmacy cares way to much about their fiscal year reports to the Wall Street Journal then anything else. They will cut hours and completely disrespect their employees. Most of the time there is one Manager/Shift Manager and a cashier/clerk on duty in the front store and a pharmacist with one technician in the pharmacy. Not only does this mean they we work three or four people worth of work, but store ratings also go down. Customers are tired of waiting to be assisted, rung up, etc. And when these ratings go down, middle management blames line management and everyone under them. Complete disrespect. Every employee is entitled to a 30 minute break if they are working 6+ hours where I work. Employees are not even allowed to leave the store for their break simply because there is only one other person working the front (manager/shift manager). Sometimes employees cannot even take breaks because of the amount of work presented, yet CVS will still cut the 30 minutes out of your pay check. Also, the payroll system has messed up so many paychecks. I encourage everyone to count their hours beforehand and double check them on your checks because employees have been ripped off so many times. And when we tell middle management all this, they simply say "That's not an excuse"... that should be CVS's new slogan!

Thieving Cashiers
August 6, 2010 at 8:27 pm a cashier # 94, Her name begins with an S, a middle age woman by appearance and accent and limited English to be from India, grabbed my Master Card. I had just slid it through, it wasn’t read due to the scratch on the magnetic card. She grabbed it form my hand and said "I do it. " I asked her to enter the numbers due to the scratch on the magnetic card and she just kept swiping it and yelling "It no take. It no good." She swiped it, again and again. It took at one point as it showed on the reader that I had swiped it through originally and I asked the other cashier ( a man who appeared to be in his twenty’s and also from India) if there was a manger. You only have to charge it once. This was crazy. He said there was no manger and he yelled at me and said she didn't need to take my crap. My crap was me trying to get my credit card back and get my receipt and get the bag of items I just bought that the cashier who had not paid for them, I paid for them, stole from me. I told him this was theft and I'd call the police. At the mention of police and only at the mention of the police the cashier gave me my MC back and my receipt but not the bag. She laid it on the counter near her. I grabbed the bag and the other cashier actually grabbed it from me- this is no different than a purse snatching. I grabbed it back and left the store with my items I’d paid for. I know of no store other then CVS that allows cashiers to steel from customers. It is absurd and I'm sure anyone reading this agrees both employees need to be immediately terminated. The idea that CVS is hiring criminals to work as cashiers and openly allowing them to steal from customers is terifying.

Employment
I've worked for this company for about 4 years and realized its not what you know but who you know. This company laid me off over some bullsh*t.I've read article after article online and noticed that I wasn't the only one.I've noticed managers got fired for not having the proper title in the system for there employees, my title hasn't been right for 2 years. Then I noticed how if you fail 2 audits your fired my ex-manager lost 3 and was missing a good amount of money that he couldn't even explain.I've seen how people got away with stealing items of the floor, cigarettes and even go as far to try to get with minors on the job. They try to keep all of that information on a tight rope but its time to come out for people to see.I've written letter after letter while I was still employed with this company about certain people breaing CVs policy but nothing happened I guess because they have DM and training positions your policy should be for evryone not just certain employees and that how I feel.PROOF I have a lot of it and am very determined to hand this over to the right person so all of this can STOP.

Mistreatment by Manager
I don't know where to begin. My entire store is having problems with our manager. She's young: 28 and she tends to condescend to all of us. She overworks our assistant manager while she takes 3-4 days off almost every week. He's lucky if he gets 1 day off. She overworks me by making me do all of her paperwork. When I come back to work after being gone on vacation, or helping another store, I'll find weeks and weeks worth of paperwork that she should have done. Why does this have to fall on me?

She shows favoritism towards other employees. She hired one girl to be a Photo Lab Supervisor (even though she came from the pharmacy department, doesn't have much knowledge of photo, and has only been with our store for a month) while one of the girls who has worked in photo for 3 years wasn't considered for the opportunity. An opportunity that is FULL-TIME, and yet the new girl is working this job part-time. If this was allowed the girl that has been there for 3 years could do it. Our manager is practically best friends with the girl she hired as photo lab supervisor. And the other day, a pharmacy tech. overheard our manager and the photo lab supervisor talking shit about all of us.

More favoritism...we had a contest. Whoever had the most customer compliments called in to corporate would be given a $50 giftcard. I was tied with a cashier. When I inquired about the gift card he received and I didn't I was told my comment didn't count because it was told to my manager and not called in. I told her the customer told me she would rather tell my manager personally, especially because she didn't want to give out her information on the phone. My manager said it didn't matter and it didn't count. Later, the customer asked me if I won the contest. I told her what happened and she said that was ridiculous and that I needed to work for someone who actually appreciated me.

A few days later, my manager asked my assistant manager if I was upset about the contest. He said I was and she said, "Well that's too bad. I don't care about how my employees feel."

A day or two after that I spoke to her about my "Phase one" training. I told her I was told I had to complete this on my own time and that it wasn't paid for. My assistant manager told me it was. She said it was not. When I inquired about why she was letting one of the supervisors do it at work she said, "Well I don't have anything else for her to do." I said, "But she's doing it on company time instead of her own time. She's being paid for it. How is that fair?" She had no comment.

Later in the week she snapped at me when I came to clock in. "Nicole, what did I tell you about clocking in before you're ready to work?!" That's right. I can't even put my purse away or go to the bathroom right after I clock in. So I said, fine. I'll go back to the bathroom first. She asked me why I was giving her attitude and I told her I was not. Later she cornered me in the office and asked me what my problem was. I told her I had already discussed my problems with her. Once again she asked me to name them. I told her everything you have read in this post so far. She repeated the same old things she had said before. She said, "I want you to come to me with your problems. I care about how you feel." I wanted to say, "Really? Because that's not what you told our assistant manager the other day", but I bit my tongue. I didn't want to drag him into it. I left the office after telling her she had nothing new to say to me so there was no point in talking about it.

We've had two people quit this week because of her. We have 2 people out for medical reasons. I was the only one left to cover the morning shift, but I"m off that day. She asked me tonight if I would cover it. I told her I couldn't because I had obligations. She said that I better be doing homework tomorrow then. I said, what I do with my personal time off is just that...personal. But I told her I would not be doing homework. She said, "Then you should be working. That's what I give you the weekend off for!" (I only ask for one day out of the weekend off and that's what I normally get). I told her that what I did with my personal time was none of her concern. "I'm not taking classes right now because I'm waiting on my FASFA to go through." She said in that case, I should have told her so she could put me on working weekends. I told her that wouldn't make sense because she does the schedule 3 weeks in advance and I just found out that I had to renew my FASFA. She then called me a liar! "You should know when your semester is over." I told her that I do Axia College of University of Phoenix online (per CVS) and that I don't do semesters. I do the whole year without a break (except for Christmas) and I do 2 class for every 9 weeks. "No you're lying. And you have no right to be a supervisor if you can't be flexible!" That statement pushed me over the edge. I am flexible. I only ask for one day out of the weekend off, and it's her pick! That's it. That's all I ask! And she has the nerve to tell me I have no right to be a supervisor when I've spent 5 years working my butt off to get where I am today? Who does she think she is? How can a manager speak to an employee that way?

I've tried to call the CVS Ethics line for 2 hours (They're supposed to be 24 hours), but I haven't gotten through. I"m so outraged!
