Cyber Defender Reviews

The worst antivirus software
I purchase cyberDefender after hearing a recommendations from Leo the Tech-Guy from a popular radio station. My toughts and hopes where to improve my computer's performance and after installing CyberDefender my computer only got worst. After speaking to a few computer technitians. (Bob Hatton from Marcomm Media and Joseph Advento from JBA Networks in San Diego, California) they both told me thatCyberDefender, far from being a software that will improve my computer its a virus and spyware from CyberDefender and design to steal your personal data in order for this bloodsuckers to make contact with you and persuade you to use more of their services.

My advise to all of you! Stay away from CyberDefender. Its spyware. They will not refund your money. Its a total fraud.

Fraud
First I was overcharged on my credit card, should have been 39.95 was charged 54.95...Then they do an "analysis" and tell me i need to have their tech dept fix the computer for $224.

I said no, but they downloaded malicious trojan horse soft ware, which still has my computer in a bind, (microsoft security essential, full scan helped clean the mess up.)

Do not do business with these scumbags.

On 5/1/09 i decided to purchase cyberdefender online it cost $65.00 i then installed and ran the program then when i pressed delete detected viruses my whole computer screen turned black and i tried to reboot the laptop and all i get now is a blinking curser on the top left corner of the screen the program ate the hard drive. I then called cyber defender and told them what happened and they said if i get the windows vista cd they can fix my cpu from outside and then they wld fix it and reinburse my 65 but then charged me 200 dollars for fix something did not seem right so I contacted my cpu comany and the told me it wasd a scam so if you make the mistake of downloading that program call your bank right away before your money disappears.

total scam
Started out trying to download Avast free home security program, had problems so looked for tel# for customer service. Not sure how this happened but ended up phoning Cyber Defender. Explained that my security program on notebook had expired and I just wanted to replace it
He wanted remote access to my notebook and I allowed it (I believed I was talking to Avast).
Tech told me bad virus' on notebook and I needed a program called Cyber Defender to take care of it.
He said he would download and take care of the virus, and I needed the program for future security. As he was doing this he would say things like "...and it comes with unlimited tech support" "...and it catches early scammers" etc, etc.
somewhere in there he told me it was costing me $249.99. I said ok, as I believed what he said that I needed it. Also told him my new PC was arriving that day (March 31, 2009) and he said I could have coverage for up to 3 computers for additional $50. So I bit the bullet and took that too.
When he finished, we confirmed that the price was total $299.99. I gave him my credit card info.
later that day I called again to have the same system installed on the new PC.
Within 1 day, I noticed pop ups, saying a website wanted access to my computer. Said publisher was MIcrosoft, so I clicked allow. These kept coming and I got suspicious, so I did not allow anymore. But noticed something was wrong with new PC. Did Cyber Defender scan, said all was fine.
Following day, went for hi tech help. They gave me a one time program to scan with and stayed with me
after 1 hr, learned that I was loaded with Trojans.
I copied files for hi tech. and the one time program cleaned my system. Hi tech consulted wiht other hi tech cronies and all agreed that the trojans were coming from Cyber Defernder. We were unsuccessful in uninstalling system. Finally went to Dell and they helped me restore to Factory Condition.
Call to Cyberdender met with arrogant denials, lying about how the system cost so much (they said I bought the basic and then kept adding additional systems). End result, no refund of monies paid,
Call to bank to dispute charges revealed that 3 days after purchasing the system, Cyber Defender had charged my credit card an additional $79.95.
I am so outraged, am now in the middle of disputing the charges to my credit card, have succesfully dowloaded Avast free home edition. DO NOT BUY OR INSTALL ANY THING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
I am an older woman on a fixed income, and apparently really gullible. I was surely scammed!

Got Scamed
I first made the mistake in ordering for the clean up of two (2) more computers than I needed from the way their ordering form was set-up. When I finally reached some one in support with regards to my problem, they gave me a number to call. They then looked over my computer and told me I had major issues with my computer system which would cost me $199.00 more for one year to first elimanate then to control. I told them that I didn't have the money at that time but I would the following day. I told them I would call them the next day or if I didn' t they should call me, which they never did. I tried calling their financial department at least three (5) times that day and at least (4) times more the following three(3) days but kept getting the run around by their computer. I never once talked to a live person. I eventially chalked up the loss. Within two weeks I received their disk in the mail. It has been sitting on my mantel ever since. I just looked at my bank statement and they charged me $14.95 for something that I am not even using. Where is the justice in that.
