RIPOFF!
Bastards! I had bought Microsoft office. Each week I had to reinstall product key. I looked online and it said it could be a virus. Nope. Thought it could be a registry error. I called Cyberdefender. They ASSURED me they could fix EVERYTHING no question about it. No problem. I paid the $29.99 for the software. I was convinced that I needed their premium support. I spent $239.00 to have a technician remotely access my machine. I woke up in the morning as the tech was going over everything on my pc. In the morning I woke up to a pc that was shut down. I booted up and tried to use OFFICE. It asked for my product key. I installed. I called Cyber defender and was told they DO NOT WORK ON MICROSOFT ISSUES! I demanded a refund and was told they had attempted to fix my p.c. I hit the roof. They gave me at least 6 different 800 numbers to call. Always redirecting me. Typical "wear the consumer down". I do NOT get wore down! i complained over and over. I received a call from their technical staff offering to help with microsoft OFFICE. they refused to refund my money! They contradicted themselves. Lied and committed fraud! STAY AWAY

SCAM
Don't use this company! One of our computers was freezing and we spent $300 to get the Cyberdefender software. Not only did they screw it up so bad that our internet stopped working and the computer started to freeze up even more, but we couldn't get in touch with the billing department to get our money back! We had also had them "optimize" another laptop in the household and they had it messed up to where it stopped recognizing my iphone, couldn't download microsoft updates anymore, and would just loop itself from startup and then shut down over and over!! I couldn't even get to the desktop!! I have to go get a external back up so I can get my pictures off of it so that I can do a complete system recovery!! (which means that I have to format the entire computer back to factory state. Thank God my computer has that option!) So far, I've been on hold with them for 45min-1hour, and finally gave up on actually talking to the billing dept. They say since I have the $300 plan, I have to talk to THAT specific billing department for a refund. I've decided that that dept. dosen't exist, and they just put you on hold FOREVER till you hang up. Let me say again people...DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! They will screw up your computer and if you try to get your money back...you'll be outta luck!

Service
On 3/19/11 I signed up for a 3 year contact with Cyberdefender who offered 24/7 repair service. After one weekend and a total of 8 phone calls (twice being put on hold for 1 hour each call) the problem was not solved. On 3/21/11 I called to ask for a full refund as the problem was not fixed. They refused stating that they would charge me $179.00 for the time that they worked on my computer. They sent me to another tech who said that he fixed my computer. On 3/23/11 more blue screens and freezing up of the computer. I called at 7:30 and was put online waiting for a remote tech to look at my computer. I called at 8:30 and again at 9:30 I was promised each time that a tech would be right with me. Finally at 10:21 I called sales to again ask for a refund they refused and again said they would refund $340.00 ($519.00 less the $179.00 for the time they spent on my computer). I said well if you are going to charge me $179.00 then at least fix it. They have kept me form my family and as a business owner they have reduced my productivity while charging me to do so. Better business burea is the next stop. By the way it is 11:00 and still no remote tech.

Unethical business practices
I saw the advertisement for Cyberdefender and thought I would give it a try to see if it would make my computer run faster. I called to download the "free" trial. I bought a 2 year subscription for 5 computers with the understanding that if within 30 days I was not satisfied I could get a full refund. Luckily I only installed on one computer because it was a nightmare. I spent numerous hours on the phone with the support techs (and of course getting to the support techs) but it was a calamity. I called to get my refund and am still waiting for the return calls from two different customer service reps who "promised" they would call. This is not an honorable company.

Malicious Computer Damage
An initial diagnostic on my system found over 500 errors at maxmyspeed.com, a CyberDefender operation. After purchasing their product alleged to repair the errors, and this was unsuccessful, I was told by a support tech that I needed a remote repair by a tech, for about six times the price of their initial product, This I did, but growing suspicious, I ran their diagnostic again, only to find more than 3000 errors. This is an obvious scam, so I immediately demanded a full refund. Meanwhile, my computer system has crashed completely, and I'm left with several hundred dollars in damages which are directly attributable to this transaction with these fraudulent con artists. Among other things, I'm registering a formal complaint with the California State Attorney General in regard to this outrageously nasty outfit. With any luck, I'll help nail their hides to the wall.

High price for nothing
Cyber Defender and there pricing are fraud at best. I filed a official complaint with BBB against CyberDefender and there practices. It is on record. When I signed up for there Security Suite and the Registry/ Ceaner was thrown in free. Free not for the price. Started to have problems with there registry program. It was draging on the system as a unresponsive program. Freezing up the screen. CyberDefender thought they fix it, THREE TIMES. They failed. They created more problems then they fixed. After a while there Security Suite with the Registry/ cleaner program damaged my operating system by removing parts of my Microsoft program. I colud no longer use my Microsoft CD/DVD program for copying files. I had to take it in and have Cyberdefender removed. Even with the Registry Cleaner had all files copy. But could not find what in removed from the Microsoft Program. I had the Hard drive erased/dump. And my Tech at the Computer Store brought my sytems back. I had an external HARD DRIVE Too. {That is a must} I ask CyberDefender to reinburse for the costs of having my computer restored /rebooted. This complaint went through the BBB of Calf. in the State that this company does business. They failed to contact me at CyberDefender to discuss this situation they created. Every time I called about tech support they offered me 3 different prices for a new sign up. Because my subscription was coming up. But they never fix the problem but made it worse. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OUTFIT. SCAM ALERT. THEY WILL SCREW UP YOUR COMPUTER TO KEEP YOU IN THE FOLD. I am running the "Verizon Security Suite" for $5.99 amonth. And works good. And it has a registy cleaner and other option to keep your computer running great. It high lights the sites so you know what is good or not. Check it out. But have your computer cleaned before you put any new security suite in. It works out better that way.

Customer Service
Cyberdefender is the worst company on the internet! I will never use there service again. On Saturday, I spent my entire day trying to get ahold of them and had set up 5 connections to assist me with my issue. They said that they would help and make me a priority. Today is Sunday and they have not helped me and I have attempted 4 more times!!! Each time they say the Understand and will make me a priority...SUCH A LIE! They all say the same thing and it is all BS! I spent over 6 hours of phone time and 7 Unanswered Call that just stayed on hold for over 20+ Minutes! They are awful and have no service and do not care about the customers. They appear to have a call center based in the Middle East and they really do not care about the customer. My mission is to spread the word of their poor service and they just want your money in the front end and they do nothing on the back end! Just awful! Oh ya...go to www.ccleaner.com and download the free software. This will do the same thing that they do, but it is free! This is a bad company and they do not help! Please check around and do your research before getting involved with these assclowns!

Billing Fraud
I had many problems with my computer after downloading this software, They charged me for a free download, Then their software crashed my computer and I got in touch with them and then they wanted to charge me almost $500.00 to fix my computer, I fixed it myself. These people give good Software Companies a bad name because of their unscrupulous business practice, They said they refunded my money after charging me for a auto renewal I never sign up for, I have not received it. I am going to file a major complaint and try to bring them up on Fraud charges, People like this gives the internet a bad name and they should be charged just like anyone whom robbed someone on the street, They should not be allowed to hide behind the internet and think no one can find them or bring them up on charges.

FRAUD
WE HAVE ALL SEEN THE COMMERCIAL ON TV-IF YOUR COMPUTER IS GOING SLOW JUST GO TO MAXMYSPEED.COM AND THEY DO A FREE DIAGNOSIS OF YOUR COMPUTER. WELL I DID IT AND THEY ENDED UP TAKING OVER MY WHOLE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND THEN TRIED TO CHARGE ME $299.OO. THEY TOTALLY SCREWED MY COMPUTER UP AND MY COMPUTER HAS CRASHED 3 TIMES SINCE THEY TOOK IT OVER AND MY COMPUTER HAD NEVER CRASHED BEFORE I MET THEM. IN THE BEGINNING THE INITIAL SCAN SHOWED THAT I HAD OVER 700 PROBLEMS, AND OF COURSE I FREAKED OUT AND CALLED THERE 1-800 NUMBER AND THE GENTLEMAN SAID THAT MY COMPUTER WAS IN GREAT DANGER AND I NEEDED TO GET IT FIXED RIGHT AWAY. NOW THEY ARE ACTING AS MY ADMINISTRATOR AND POINT BLANK I REFUSE TO PAY THEM. I'VE HAD MORE PROBLEMS SINCE I FORTUNATELY BROUGHT THEM INTO MY COMPUTER'S LIFE. IT JUST GO'S TO SHOW THAT NOTHING IS FOR FREE AND EVERYONE BEWARE- MAXMYSPEED.COM IS REALLY CYBERDEFENDER AND THEY ARE GOING TO RIP YOU OFF!!!
