cyberdefender on-line virus program
I purchased additional software 4 my computer and came across CYBERDEFENDER it was 29.99 4 the year and it came with tech. support 7 days a week 24 hrs. a day.. One day last week I logged on to my computer and there was a virus on it..I was able to get on-line but it wouldn't let me connect too any sites!! I quickly called CYBERDEFENDER to get my tech. support to advise me what to do as they can connect instantly to my computer and I THOUGHT they'd HELP me fix the issue since that is why I PURCHASED their software package.. At first everything was fine and this women asked me to shut down my computer put it in "safe mode" and we proceded to get on-line. Well needless to say NOTHING happened and thats when she hit me with the big WAMMY and said my problem needed tech. support (whom I thought i had on the phone) and that for a mere $300 she could have a technician clean it all up 4 me right now and that I could make #3 EASY PAYMENT if necessary..WTF??!!~ I then informed her that I had already purchased the software package with the tech. support and she said NO...and to top it off their SOFTWARE didn't even CATCH THE VIRUS and when I asked her about it she said mam we can't be responsible to catch every virus even the Prersident that has top of the line security software dosen't do that...WHAT...anywho I called the company the next day and demanded a refund that it claims is 100% GUARANTEE only to be told that I was past the 30 days!! Did i MISS SOMETHING.. And I did tell them that they were a scam..they just want u to purchase the $300 package but no worries that 4 two years! YA.. DONT DO IT PEOPLE!!

Rip off
I called my pc and signed up for their two year technical support for 300 plus dollars. From the moment they touched my pc it quit working correctly. Took me six hours of my own time to get the CAC feature back on my laptop. Called back multiple times to be put on hold forever/hours. Was told twice I would recieve a call back, never got one. I finally after a week of trying got an account representative who informed me regardless of how my computer was messed up I still owed the 129.00 initial tech support fee. Would not waiver on this even though they messed up my laptop requiring me to take it to best buy to have it fixed. Do not do business with this company. No company should be allowed to charge a consumer for fradulant services! This company is a scam, it pretends your computer is being hacked just to get you to agree to their services then performs subpar work! To add insult to injury their was no apology, I was hung up on and stuck to remove the software myself.

Refund only within 10 days
At the end of November, we started getting blue screens and our computer was running really slow and shutting down when we ran a scan. So during a late night feeding with my baby I saw a commercial- don't judge any commercial in the middle of the night- I decided Cyber Defender was for us so I downloaded it. When I called to activate, the guy took a look at my computer and said I needed a much larger and more expensive service. He refunded my mere $30-something and I went with a 2 year plan to protect my computer because I go to school online and need it working. At first I was thrilled, the blue screens stopped. 2 weeks later I called to complain that my computer was even slower than with the viruses. They looked around and said a trojan squeezed by, but it was fixed. Nope! Still super slow! I called back and asked to remove it. I was told they would need to get into my computer to get rid of it- not true, so I didn't let them. She informed me that she informed the department to cancel my services and that I would get a call...a week later, no call so I emailed them...another week, no call or email and my accound was being debited $130 so I called AGAIN and the lady said, great news, there was no waiting and I'd get right through...no...I waited 25 minutes before talking to the worst customer service rep ever! He kept interupting me, talking through me, and told me that their company did its job well, and when the woman told me she had to get into my computer to cancel she was doing me a service to remove it for me..."well then why am I still involved in your company and why did another charge just get debited from my account?" I asked. He then scolded me for not letting him answe my questions and said, "If you know the answers to everything whay did you call me?" I tried being kind, but he was so rude. They refused to refund the whole ammount because they got rid of the blue screens. So I was charged $180 for that, but got back $80. He tried to make it sound like more by telling me that he was going to refund the $30-something they already refunded. The customer service alone was horrible. I think they outsource because everytime after the original call was a foreign-accent, until the last call who sounded very american and very rude. If you call withing 10 days and ask for the refund, they'll give it to you, but the email they claim says it, doesn't, its the fine preint hidden on their site!

WON'T GIVE MY MONEY BACK
MY COMPUTER WENT DOWN AND I NO LONGER HAD CYBERDEFENDER ON MY NEW COMPUTER, BUT THEY CHARGED ME ANYWAY. WHEN I CALLED ABOUT THE CHARGE, THE MAN HAD ME ON HOLD FOR 20 MINUTES AND NEVER CAME BACK. I CALLED AGAIN AND THE NEXT MAN TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO CANCEL WITHIN 30 DAYS, AND THE 30 DAYS HAD PASSED. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I HAD BEEN CHARGED UNTIL I RECEIVED MY CREDIT CARD BILL . IT SEEMS THAT THEY SHOULD NOTIFY YOU THAT YOUR RENEWAL IS DUE SO THAT IF YOU NO LONGER HAVE A COMPUTER--YOU COULD CANCEL. IT SEEMS PRETTY SHADY TO ME!!!

Fraudulent Charges
DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY BUSINESS AGREEMENTS WITH THIS COMPANY -- it is nothing more than an elaborate scam that convinces people there is something wrong with their PC and then sells them worthless software that does nothing, and may even make existing problems worse or create new ones. AND they will also automatically sign you up for recurring billing without your knowledge and charge your credit card or bank account without your approval. THIS COMPANY IS BAD NEWS -- AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Fraudulent charge for service not rendered
My Dad's computer was stuck in "Power Saving Mode". He couldn't get out of it because the battery on his wireless mouse had run out. (I discovered this AFTER what I'm describing here.)
He was tricked into contacting CyberDefender for help about being stuck in Power Saving Mode --- they told him he had a hard disk problem, and charged him $229.95.
In fact, he did NOT have a hard disk problem, just a dead mouse-battery.
I called CyberDefender for a refund of the $229.95. After several call-transfers, someone said they would submit my request to "Management" for approval of the refund.
I'm not hopeful that the refund is actually going to happen, given all the complaints about CyberDefender I have been reading.
In any case, the problem-solving information they gave my Dad was totally erroneous and completely useless.

COMPANY STINKS.THEIR PRODUCT MESSES UP YOUR PC TAKES MONTHS TO GET REFUND BUT WON'T PAY FOR REPAIRS TO MY PC. THANKS FOR THE SCAM FELLOWS!!!

Thiefs!
After billing my mother for false original charges and after hours of her time clearing things up and removing the crappy program off her computer - they had the audacity to try slip a false to bill her 1 year later. They should be in jail. Just google the company and see what other malicious deceitful tricks they are up to!

total misrepentation of product
when i initaly called the price on the TV advertisment was 14.95 by the time my slick fast talking salesman had convinced me that 269.95 would give me a year of top service with up to 3 computers in my house, i knew that i would be adding a 2nd computer in my bedroom but it would be a few months, after the dsl service took 6 weeks to get my computer hooked up it was over 3 months but i calles cyberdefinder to "add my 2nd computer" I was then notified of the additional charges..but i stated i was told there would be NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR THE PRICE I PAID, i then was mad and requested to have all software taken off my computer and filed a complaint with my credit card company, long story short i was out of the 3month period to get my money back and i am stuck with a 250.00 charge for something i have already taken off my computer and my credit card company said i have to take them to small clames court

antivirus download
I ordered and downloaded Cyberdefender and was charged for two products instead of the one I wanted. I contacted cyberdefender to activate antivirus and antispyware protection and they activated account and refunded the difference. However, I have had nothing but trouble w/computer since activation and they shut off my Windows Defender and I can't turn it back on. I removed cyberdefender programs and still can't turn on Windows Defender. I am now sitting on hold trying to get a full refund and get Windows Defender turned on. Cyberdefender did not pick up on a virus that Windows Defender did. Not a very good product if you ask me. I do not reccommend. I am not too crazy about their customer service either. I have been on hold for over 10 min.
