I had 2 error messages on my laptop every time I restarted my computer. So, I saw advertisement on TV and run free CyberDefender registry cleaner. After running it, my computer went crazy, half my things were missing and I had one error message after another. I called Feb 08, 2011 to CyberDefender, they told me tech will call me in 2 hours. I never received the phonecall. I called following day, and I was told I have to purchase CyberDefender and my laptop will be like new in 4-5 hrs. I was very happy and purchased 3yrs program for 5PCs.
The promised 4-5 hrs turned into a week of nightmare, one tech after another tried to fix it. They fixed one thing and then created another problem.I was on the phone with them for hours, they could not solve the mystery. My touchpad stopped working, my soundcard stopped working, I could net get into any secured websites etc. I could not use my computer for a week. I called on Feb 14, 2011 and wanted to change my plan to 1yr 1PC instead of 3yrs 5PC. I told them I do not feel comfortable to recommend CyberDefender to anyone. I was told technician will call me with new activation code. Noone called me since I downgraded my plan.
On Feb15 I emailed requesting cancellation due to unrepaired computer. I received a response that Account Manager will call me shortly. He/She never called. Neither any tech called. So on Feb 16, 2011 I took my laptop to local repair and got it fixed (I had to pay for the damage done by CyberDefender).
I emailed on Feb 16 and Feb 17 to CyberDefender to follow up to my cancellation request….to no avail. So I called on Feb18, 2011, was on hold for 38 min and I was told by Account Manager, they are happy to cancel my subscription, but they will not refund me $199.96, because technicians did some work on my computer and removed viruses etc. This is unacceptable, all they did, was ruin my laptop and could not fix it (one tech Joshua even left me a note on my screen that this is a mystery to him and he apologized for not able to fix it and transfering it to another tech). Their website says, 30 days money back quarantee if for whatever reason customer is unhappy.
