Being senior citizens, we have most of our bills taken out of our checking account automatically and today I happened to come across our May 2010 Verizon telephone bill and when I looked at it, I found that there was a $14.95 charge on it from cybertube.tv.llc.
I called the number 1-800-433-4518 and spoke with Valerie and explained that I had not signed up for this and she said that it had began in March so she canceled the account and transferred me to 1-866-576-4137 where I spoke with Nicki who agreed to send me a refund of $74.75 for the five months they claimed I had signed up for the service. Both ladies were very nice and curteous.
Funny thing is...they did not have my email address, they had the email address listed as [email protected] which they said is listed to somebody in Bronx, New York.
I am going to be sending this info to my email contcts, posting it on Facebook and other websites and getting word out however I can that everybody needs to check their telephone bills to see if this or any other unauthorized charge appears on their bills. You especially need to be cautious of charges like this if you have chosen to go green and not receive monthly paper copies.
