I received a $9.99 charge on one of my cell phones for a "download". My sister (& live-in babysitter), teenage daughter and I don't use text messaging and don't download anything onto our phones. In fact, I have text messaging blocked. I called T-Mobile and they said I have to text a company to opt out or they'll continue to charge me monthly. I told her I don't have text messaging so she gave me a phone number to call - 1-888-351-6703. I called and was told my "subscription" would be cancelled. I told him that's not good enough - I want my $9.99 back because I never ordered any product from them. After a bit of a hesitation he said they would mail me a check but it would take 4 to 6 weeks to reach me. I told him I want the credit to my cell phone account since they weren't authorized to charge my account in the first place. He said they can't do that. They can only send me a check in the mail. I stated in the meantime I'm contacting my US Senator, the BBB and Attorney General's office to file a complaint until I receive my money back. I want to make sure they're going to refund me.
I called T-Mobile back and said I wanted to talk to a supervisor. The Customer Service Representative said she will get one for me but would I tell her my complaint so that she can let the supervisor know how to assist me better. I told her about the unauthorized "download" charge and that the T-Mobile Billing dept said they can't do anything for me. I told her I found out my sister got a series of text messages and she just deleted them thinking they were from T-Mobile since they're they only ones who text us. She responded with "and you have text messaging blocked". She looked up the charge on my account and said they've been getting complaints about this company charging their customers. They don't go through the regular texting methods and that's how they get around the blocked text lines. She said she is going to credit my account the $9.99 and submit a refund demand from this company. She also made an adjustment to my account so other companies cannot do this.
