Horrible Company
CYMAX is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I made a $2, 419.20 purchase for a Howard Miller book shelving system on May 31, 2011. I contacted customer service when placing the order since reading reviews that they frequently run out of stock. The agent said that the product would be shipped within the week. Three weeks past and I had not heard from the company about any shipping details since they stated that they would send a tracking number when the product shipped. I could not get a hold of a rep via the phone. The phone system always stated that due to the high amount of calls, they would call me back and “that I would not lose my place in line” I never got a call back after doing this four times. They finally answered my email after five days and stated that there was an “internal processing error” (this seems to be their excuse for many customers) and that the shelf would ship within the next two weeks. Three weeks later, still no shipping confirmation. I checked my order status and they have the shelf as backordered and expected to ship by August 11, which would be almost three months after I ordered the product, and I doubt it would even ship then. It was a major hassle to cancel my order. The company charged my credit card as soon as the order went through. This company is running some type of scam, probably using the new orders payments to pay for older customer orders.

Non-delivery of item ordered
I ordered a baby stroller on March 24. My credit card was billed on March 24. The item was listed as being in stock. Within days, the item was listed as back ordered. This went on through March, April and May. Meanwhile, I paid for the item before it was delivered. Had I known I would be billed before receiving the item, I never would have ordered with this company. I have cancelled my order and am awaiting a reimbursement check.

Terrible shipping
I ordered a product on a Friday, and it said it would ship in 3-5 business days. A week and a half later I called to track it and they hadn't even shipped it yet! This is unacceptable. They said the manufacturer "should" be shipping it the next day. Three days later it finally went out. I have yet to receive it, so we will see how the quality is.

Worst Retail Experience Ever
SAVE YOURSELF TIME & MONEY! DO NOT, REPEAT, DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! I order a $1800 rug from Cymax. My credit card was charged the same day and I was promised 3 day delivery. The rug arrived 7 days later and was the wrong color. I spent the next week calling and being placed in a queue for a customer services representative - often for hours at a time, being forced to listen to looped messages about their customer service guarantees and how with Cymax - the customer is in control. Call back requests were not honored, emails were not answered. When I finally got through to a live person, Ii was put back on endless hold for a supervisor and then they disconnected the call. Finally after 9 days and endless calls / emails they contacted the manufacturer to notify them of the shipping mistake...and then and only then - more than a month after accepting the original order, did they notify me that the product is out of stock and back-orderd for months! I finally cancelled my order, but am still waiting for my credit card to be refunded. I have been traumatized by this experience...do not make the same mistake. Order elsewhere

Bad customer service
I returned a product to Cymax, unused and unopened.
By the time they sent me an authorization code, my return was labelled "EXPIRED" by these morons, as though returning a pillow had an expiration date, like milk!!! The only reason my window to return the merchandise was held up was BY THEIR OWN RIDICULOUS POLICIES!!!
Unless you enjoy getting jerked around and having them ignore your many requests for help... AVOID BUYING AT CYMAX.

took $2,100 and no order
DO NOT ORDER FROM CYMAX UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR MONEY STOLEN AND TO BE LIED TO FOR MONTHS!!! They are totally incompetent and disorganized with NO customer service at all.
I ordered a $2, 100 couch on December 13, 2010. They took my money, showed the order was in progress (4-6 weeks) but at the end of that time when I contacted them, they ignored me and sent an e-mail that the couch had been shipped. I waited and nothing happened. I tried to contact them and again was ignored. After 8 weeks I got a hold of someone on the phone and they related that the order had never been placed. I was told a manager would call and they never did. It's been 11 weeks that they have had my money and "my account" info says still that the couch has been shipped.
How many months can they keep your money before it becomes grand theft??

delivery
The dresser itself is a beautiful piece of furniture, but the company, who deliver it, Cymax, is a nightmare! It took them 2 month to deliver the item, all that time we did not receive any notifications of estimate time of delivery, or any other emails explaining the delay, we tried to call them, but they were very mean and unprofessional to us, we tried to cancel the order, they frightened us with $1000 cancelation fee!!! So we had to wait until they would deliver it…when they finally did, the item came damaged, and now it’s been a second week as we are trying to get them take the damaged piece back. They are not answering any of our emails, when we call them they always very mean, we asked to talk to the supervisor, he was even more rude then any of his workers, it’s not worth it!!!

Horrible Customer Service
Cymax sucks to the max! Ordered a $450 item on 12/31, rec'd confirmation email same day. Item was listed as in stock; given delivery estimates of about a week's time. A week passes and I check order status. Order is listed as in process still but items are now listed as discontinued. During the time that has passed between my order and my check on the status, I received NO notification, email, phone, writing or otherwise. Sent an email to customer service requesting an update, no response. Requested order cancellation but I believe I will have to dispute charge with my credit card company as SuckstotheMax does not believe in communicating with customers. Stay far, far away. Reporting to BBB and other consumer agencies. This company is a fraud!

Inflexable unreasonable Refund Policy
BEWARE! BEWARE! BAD COMPANY! BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU’RE GOING TO ORDER FROM THIS CANADIAN COMPANY! I ordered a furniture item based upon the picture on their website. We all know that different PC monitors show colors differently. The item was displayed with a nice Golden/ Yellow wood grain. No information was available for samples so based on the picture I placed the order. You can guess what came; dark brown furniture; no Golden/ Yellow color. I contacted Cymax’s customer service. They explained that the item comes to me directly from the manufacturer. I told them if the color was slightly off there wouldn’t be a problem, but the color was way off. They had me take pictures and send them to them. They sent the pictures to the manufacturer. The manufacturer said “colors will most likely not match posted display pictures”, and that “free samples are available before a purchase is made, and many of our distributors post a notice next to the photo that free samples are available”. Cymax does NOT post this notice. The manufacturer leaves it up to Cymax to make a proper posting. Cymax leaves it up to the manufacturer to determine if a full refund (including shipping) is in order. The manufacturer says that they sent the correct ordered product. Cymax says that they (Cymax) will refund me less a re-stocking fee, their outgoing shipping cost, and I would have to pay for the return shipping. These people are nuts!!! - Between CYMAX lack of awareness, and the Manufacturers poor color match, we the consumers should not be penalized

This company gives free shipping - great? But if you need to reurn an item they rake you over the coals. When the item you get is not the item described why is that my fault???? Will never do business with this company again.
