Horrendous customer service
I placed an order on 5/15. It never got shipped. I called countless times, and emailed. Despite their promises to check on the status, they never called me back. My emails got responded to with a survey. They told me it was going to be shipped on 5/28. It never was. When I called to cancel the order, they told me they couldn't cancel until they knew whether the manufacturer had shipped it or not. The manufacturer apparently didn't return their calls, so I couldn't cancel because I was going to be charged if it had been shipped. I needed the item, but couldn't order it elsewhere until I heard back from the Cymax staff. Finally, on 6/3, I received confirmation the item had never shipped and I could cancel. This was the most horrendous shopping experience I've ever had, other than with Discount Pet Meds, also a Canadian company. I wish I had researched them before placing this order. They are an awful company to deal with.

Lousy customer service
If I had known about all the complaints to this company, I would not have dealt with them at all.
I ordered a sectional sofa set from Cymax in March, the sales person was very courteous. The sofa set came after more than 3 weeks. I was so excited it finally came. I had to unwrap the package since the delivery guys refused to do it. The sofa set came in 4 pieces. One piece was a wrong item, one piece had different color than the other 3, one piece had a 2-inch cut through the leather with inside material exposed. So only one piece was good!!
I sent email with pictures about the problem to the sales person and to the guy at replacement department. I called a few times and sent email requesting replacement shipping date. I was promised 3 times that the replacement guy would call me back the same day that I called, but all were just lies.
Eventually 12 days later, I received email from the replacement guy that 2 pieces would be replaced. The piece with a 2-in cut was still under investigation. There was no mention about replacement schedule!!!
I called the credit card company to cancel the charge. Itwas a horrible experience to deal with this company.

defective product
The first TV Console came to us defective. We had to take pictures and call daily to get any response. We did get Cymax to send another Console. The second one arrived also defective. We emailed and called for over one month. We stayed very positve and courteous throughout the month and finally the Cymax did refund our Total amount. We did not have a restocking fee or have to pay shipping. It took alot of communication but it did pay off. We also used PayPAl but they did not help at all in the process. They actually closed the case and found in the favor of Cymax. Thankfully Cymax did do the right thing but it took alot of patience and cooperation.

Failure to deliver
Ordered two Legare desks from this company on 2/26. Was not informed on website of awful shipping times, and did not find out until order confirmation had been sent to my email that it may take up to 3 weeks to get my desks.
3/2/10 I receive an email saying the order has been shipped, and there is a tracking number, stating they will be delivered on 3/5/10.
3/5/10 comes, I leave work for an hour to go pick up the delivery, only to find that Legare has only shipped ONE desk. I call the number on the packing slip, which clearly states TWO DESKS, and am sent to some warehouse which has employees who know nothing about it, and tell me to call Legare sales, and ask for Diana.
Call repeatedly, and "Diana" can't be bothered to answer her phone. No department picks up except Accounting, so I complain to them, and they give me to Diana's assistant (who wasn't answering Diana's phone for some reason? Some assistant.) She ASSURES me that there must have been a mistake. Maybe it was sent with 2 tags? Who knows? She then promises me that the remaining desk will be put on the truck by that afternoon, and I should have something before they even get an email to me with tracking information.
This is ridiculous. Will never order from this company again. Shame too, because the one desk that arrived is really nice.

Terrible shipping and customer service
Cymax has awful shipping practices and terrible customer service. I ordered from Cymax because they offered the lowest price for what I was looking for and had free shipping. After I placed my order, I was very surprised to receive an email saying it would be 1 to 2 weeks before the product shipped. Three weeks later, it had still not shipped. I called customer service and was on hold for a half hour. I called back and pressed "1" for PLACING an order and got a customer service representative right away. When I told them I had a question about an existing order, they put me on hold again. I waited 15 minutes before hanging up and calling my credit card company to dispute the charges from Cymax. I never did receive my product -- though they did refund my credit card. After more searching I found the product even cheaper at CSNstores.com -- which delivered my product promptly!

Shipping
Ordered an item on the Cymax site and was promised it would ship within 2-3 days, and that 25 of the items were in stock. After a week with no tracking information, spent an hour on the phone with a Cymax representative (who was very nice, just unfortunately working for very bad people). He finally told me that the item was now backordered 45 days. I asked if Cymax would have called to tell me, and he said no. Apparently, I was supposed to spend $500, and then wait 45 days without hearing anything from the company that charged my credit card. I put in a cancellation request - but now get to wait until Tuesday to maybe hear back. So, I have no gift for my girlfriend, no money to buy one until Cymax returns my $500, and I wish I had read about this company before I bought. DO NOT BUY FROM CYMAX!!!

damaged item
Ordered and recieved an entertainment unit. Upon opening the box, saw that the TOP was damaged. Notified CYMAX immediately and sent photos of damaged part. Over the past 15 days have spoken to 7 (seven) different reps to get the piece replaced. It has been one promise after another after another and all are lies. Nothing has been done. The reps are all polite and tell you whatever you want to hear and do nothing. Will put the item in dispute with my credit card company.

Dont order from Cymax! They do not know which products are available because they have nothing in stock...they are a drop-shipment company. I ordered a stroller and all the accessories. The website advertised 2-day shipping and after 2 days my order still had not shipped. After several calls and promises from management to contact the manufacturer and "put a rush" on my order, I decided to cancel. I called the manufacturer and found out that the items I ordered had been discontinued. Had I not cancelled my order, I would have been still waiting for my order weeks later. All of the customer service reps were extremely polite but pretty useless. All I would have liked is accurate information so that I can make appropriate decisions. The only upside was that I did receive my refund pretty quickly.

Takes money and says it is backordered
Everyone else was out of stock on the expensive digital wall clock I wanted, but these guys had it. So, I ordered it using PayPal.
Immediately after clearing my transaction for $200 they sent me an email notifying me that the item was out of stock, they wouldn't have it for two months, and that I would be put on a waiting list.
I called to cancel my order and got the runaround about how they would have to contact the people in the cancellations department.
I didn't wait; I opened a PayPal dispute. These guys seem really fishy to me.

Cheap product
I purchased a shoe cabinet from Cymax. It took 3 weeks to receive and when it came the pieces don't even match. The doors are the only thing received in the oak color I ordered! Wish I had seen these complaints before I ordered!!! If you are thinking of ordering from this company, don't! Product is very cheaply made, colors don't match and price is inflated for what you get. Will never purchase from them again. Also tried to cancel when the order did not ship when promised and they would not even reply to my request! Cabinet was to be a gift, but arrived too late. I guess I purchased extremely high priced firewood!
