Horrible company
STOP! Don't buy from Cymax they lie about their easy return policy.
We purchased the prepac sonoma bed set. it was the cheapest of the cheapest malamine with thee thinnest black laminate on top I've ever seen.
When we went to return it through their, 30 day hassle free easy return poilicy, we were told we'd have to pay the cost that it took them to ship to us, we'd have to send it back at our expense through UPS or Fed Ex.
to add insult to injury they said there would be a 30% restocking fee- mentioned no where on the site.
All that added up pretty much reaches the cost of the furniture- something they are well aware of, they were not willing to work with us to resolve this at all.
We'll never but from Cymax again, and tell all our friends not to.

Awful Customer Service and Lack of Ethics
Ordered a piece of children's furniture from them.
Manufacturer was Berg Industries.
According to their website swatch information, we ordered a color called "Nutmeg".
When the piece arrives, it is a lighter color -- and not just a natural variation. We refuse delivery.
After consulting with other websites that carry Berg furniture, we realize that the Cymax's website had a mistake on the color swatches -- they had reversed "Nutmeg" and "Chestnut".
After we alert them to this fact, they update their website (we had screen captures from before) and tell us that we have to pay for the unit to be shipped back to the manufacturer.
They also procede to tell us that they will not exchange it for the correct color (Chestnut), as we ordered "Nutmeg".
Complete lack of ethics -- they had the wrong color palette on their website which caused us to order the wrong color, then they deny the mistake and blame us.
Beware.

Non delivery
Cymax immediately charged my card the $600+ when I ordered four barstools. Delivery was predicted within two weeks, with tracking information promised as soon as items shipped. After about ten days I called to inquire about the status of the order, was told there was no information available, but was guaranteed a reply within 24 hours. Seven days later, I had not received any reply, and I called again to inquire why they had my money when they couldn't even tell me whether the product was available or not. They predicted availability in another month, and I promptly canceled the order. I do a great deal of online shopping, and Cymax provided me with the most unpleasant experience ever. I work in customer service myself, and I would be without a job if I was as indifferent to my customers as their staff is. Bottom line- avoid Cymax even if it means paying a little more.

customer no service
I read a couple of bad reviews online, but bought my sofa slipcovers anyway from this company. Bad Idea. The extra $40 I thought I was saving is not worth the customer No-service. I need to return the items unused and in original packaging. I accept the terrible 20% re-stocking fee and shipping deduction from my return. However, the return address is not listed with the merchandise. I am instructed to call the 1-800 number to get a "return merchandise number" (RMN). I've been calling for 3 days (and only have a 30 day window to get a refund), got 4 voicemails and one live person who said he cannot help with returns which "go through the returns dept. You can only reach them by email. They will email you" Since it took lots of time and effort to get a person on the phone who couldn't give me the RMN, I was not satisfied. He stated that he would email me directly too so I would have his contact info if the return dept didn't email me. Over 24 hours later, I have received NO emails from either party. And, he calculated a very inflated shipping rate for regular nonPriority mail to deduct from my refund.

Imposed delivery of damaged goods
I placed an order in mid April for a $589.00 Pulaski curio cabinet and was told
delivery would be in 4 to 6 weeks. I received a call mid April, from Cymax's white
glove delivery co., Sun Delivery attempting to arrange a delivery date for the
following week, then Sun called wanting to deliver on Sunday, when I could not
accept delivery. Sun called the following week to let us know our Curio had been
damaged and it would take an additional 3-4 weeks to repair and deliver.
I contacted Cymax saying I did not want to wait an additional 3-4 weeks for
delivery of a repaired piece of furniture (white glove treatment) unless the
damage would be unnoticeable, but that 3-4 additional weeks was unacceptable.
Long story short; Cymax told me if I didn't accept the Curio, even though it
was damaged/repaired, it woudl be considered a return and I would have to
pay a 20% re-stocking fee plus shipping of $182.00 each way for the return
of a piece of furniture that I had yet to even see. A total charge of $481.00 on
a piece costing $589.00, leaving me $107.00 of the original cost.
It is now mid June and Sun Delivery says they will call me next week to
determine a delivery date.
I thought I was a pretty careful shopper, but I certainly learned my lessong
this time. CAREFULLY CHECK EVERY RETAILER ON-LINE BEFORE SENDING
YOUR HARD-EARNED CASH. DON'T EVER DO BUSINESS WITH CYMAX.
Check them out on-line by just googling CYMAX. You'll see plenty of complaints.

They will not accept returns. Every item they sell is impossible to put together and everything must be assembled. Plan on spending many hours trying to put together your order. Parts missing, confusion, bad service. BUYER BEWARE!!!

poor customer service
I ordered and paid for a catnapper cloud nine recliner on 4-14-09 with cymaxstores.com on their 800 number. i was told it would be delivered in 2-3 weeks. shortly after giving them my credit card to finilize the transaction i received an e-mail with order numbers and delivery dates. it stated delivery might take up to 4 weeks so i called back and spoke to the sales rep. who took my order (less than one hour after placing the order) and he said don't worry you should have it by the end of the month. so at that point i didn't cancel the order. It has now been 45 days and still no chair! several calls to cymax stores got me nowhere. several calls to homedirectusa (the delivery company) got me nowhere. everyone very nice on the phone but still they have my money and i have nothing.. the local delivery phone number that homedirectusa provided me which is located 30 minutes from here doesn't answer their phone or have an answering machine or service.BEST ADVICE: spend a little more and support your local retailer not the internet stores.. I will give this a few more days before i call my bank to get my money back.

Horrible customer service
After ordering an Item online they give themselves three weeks to get the item to you. That's their first mistake. It should take no longer 10 business days to receive a product that is supposedly in stock.
Second of all they have no idea what is actually in stock or not. There is no communication between them and their suppliers.
I ordered a large DVD case from them that was never indicated to be backordered or anything. After waiting their rediculous three week time period to receive the product it never came. When I called they checked on it and decided that product was no longer being supplied and the website just hadn't been "updated".
This is something that should have been discovered when the order was processed 2 to 3 weeks ago. It is my belief that they never even did process it or I would have been notified. I spent 3 weeks waiting for somthing that never even had a chance of getting to me.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT use this company if you value customer service or business in a timely manner. I just hope my money gets reimbursed sometime this decade.

RETURN
I orded a King Mattress pad on Fri night. Monday night here(EST) I received a call from my sister that my mother had been taken to the hospital with a massive stroke. I called the co. to cancel the cover as no one would be here to receive it. She assured me it would be done as it had just been called in to the distributer and would not ship for at least 2 days. I called again the morning before we left for airport to check on it and was again told it would be stopped. When I arrived in NJ I checked my email and there was a letter from CYMAX telling me it was too late and it had been sent out on the 24th (2 days after my first call). I even promised to reorder when I got back as I need the pad for my bad back. So it will sit in my driveway uncovered or be stolen as there is no one to see to it until I return sometime in late April or May.They never even sent me a tracking number so I could have called and had a hold put on it or shipped back, so I really dont believe it has even been sent yet. I wish I had seen this site before I ordered and I hope those greedy pigs get their just awards. Now I will have to order another but it will not be from these bums.

worst online store
they have the worst customer service. you will receive you order god knows when. im waiting for my orders for over 2 months now. they dont even call u to let you know that they are out of products but they charge you right away. i called them and some one said she wil call me back after speaking to the manufaturer. she never called me back. i called again and the same thing happened..and it kept on happening...i think you should save you money and time and look somewhere else. i found a similar website called csn and their shiiping times are also long but not as long as this one. and atleast they have better customer service.
