I am writing a formal complaint to warn others about the “puppy e-mill” characteristics that KRYSTIN and LINDA JOHANSON from CYPRESS FARM KENNEL, located in Texas, display. I received my blue and white boston terrier on January 11, 2011. Within 24 hours of having our new puppy he started showing symptoms and with 48 hours he was tested positive for parvo and to say the least on his death bed. You can argue that puppies can get parvo anywhere which I am very aware of but regardless due to the incubation period of parvo the puppy had to have received parvo before leaving the Cypress Farm Kennel.

The night of January 13, when his parvo signs went full-blown the breeder call me “freaking out” that another puppy had also tested positive for parvo so I proceeded to tell her that my puppy was displaying the same symptoms. She said she would have her phone next to her and to call her right away when I knew something. The next morning we were at the vet at 9am sharp. During my 3 hours in the vet’s office, we cried and discussed the choice we had to make. Parvo is extremely expensive to treat and regardless of what one might say, no one plans on dropping $1, 000-3, 000 immediately after paying almost $1, 000 for a promised healthy puppy. During this time period the breeder, Krystin, stopped all communication with me and even went as far as to block me on facebook. She does not feel obligated to help in any way, shape, or form. From what I have been told a breeder that does not care about the profit but of the well-being of the dog would have taken responsibility. As a business owner if you sell a bad product you usually do everything in your power to make it up to the buyer in order to keep your reputation….not Cypress Farm Kennel.

**I also want to make it known that I never received my signed copy of my puppies health guarantee. She wrote me saying, “silly me”, she had forgot it. It was supposed to arrive in the mail over a month ago now.
Above anything else said, I want it to be known that Cypress Farm Kennel guarantees healthy puppies (according to their contract) and I did not receive a healthy puppy…end of story. I received a sickly puppy that had no energy, aggression issues right away, and eating issues. At 3.5 months old, he is now finally putting on weight.
Anyone looking to buy from this breeder, I strongly urge you not too. She made at least $10, 000 and says she has no money to help us. She does not back up her puppies but continues to advertise healthy ones. You can ask a breeder for a reference but I promise you they won’t give you a bad one….well here you go.
